The large dark furred wolf trotted casually along the border lines as he had began his duty of border patrolling the territory. He had to be honest with himself, he hadn't border patrolled much ever since the alphas had disappeared, reasons that were unknown to him.
Li would simply be walking along the border lines now, with a bored expression to his face. Patrolling was pointless now, he thought, he didn't know much of the pack members so if he did come across an unfamiliar wolf scent it could be from a pack member he didn't know of. Though he is beta of the pack, and he knew what he got himself into which he mildly regretted thinking about it.
An exhale escaped the male, cool chilly air being breathed in in his lungs once he inhaled. No scent other than a few faint prey scents could be sniffed, he was this close to calling it a day and going back to his den in which he could continue being in his lonesome.
He figured he could patrol the area once more before calling it quits. He stops in his tracks for a mere moment to let out a yawn and to stretch his arms and legs. He blinks only twice slowly before shifting his darkened gaze to the sun-setting sky, seeing it's colorful orange and purple hues as the sun would soon sleep.
The large black wolf shifted his head down as he could see his own shadow, smirking a bit, he activates his shadow mastery power and manipulates his own shadow to where it would lift itself from the earth and stand next to him like it was an entirely different wolf. Satisfied, the male would start to walk along the border and continue his patrolling with his shadow alongside him.
It had been a good several minutes before Li would catch a scent unfamiliar to him, however it was no surprise to him. Li sighs and groans in frustration, he was really hoping he wouldn't have to come across a wolf at the last second. He stood there for a minute, wondering if he should interact with the wolf that wasn't in sight yet. Surely nothing would happen to him if he did nothing, right? No alphas were around and he certainly was the only one around technically in charge. Li shifts his head to look at his shadow, in which the shadow looked at him as well. After a few seconds, the beta would shrug and groan once more, trotting to the wolf scent as it grew nearer and nearer.
Once the wolf finally came in sight, Li would hide himself behind a tree, his shadow going back into the earth as Li would focus on who it could be. The scent was feminine he could tell, and the wolf was a grey she-wolf with distinctive markings to her. The male hummed curiously as he would silently watch her from a distance, though Li would shake his head and approach the female as he figured watching wouldn't do much. He approaches her swiftly, possibly catching her off guard as he easily toward over her. His voice being deep and serious once he spoke "Another wolf that is lost, huh? Unless you wish to join the pack, if not then you are trespassing over Midnight Silence territory."
