.::Portia protects her neck enough that Storm can't get a good bite in, and although Storm jumps back enough to keep Portia from landing square on her back, Portia still manages to land with her paws down on the back of Storm's neck, although her balance is wobbly as Storm is brought down to the ground.::.

OOC: Just gonna post as Portia til the fight is over
The white wolf managed to get the jump on the older wolf and she felt her paws pushing down into Storm's neck. However, Storm had managed to back away just enough so that it wasn't a direct hit. Porita could feel her balance starting to slip so she'd have to jump away or fall. Portia springs off of Storm and whips her body around, ready to attack again. The young wolf aims for the back of Storm's neck to quickly pin her and keep her grounded.

Storm takes the first blow and drops to the ground, she cackled a bit. "That the best you got?" she said as she was pounced off of. Quickly Storm got to her feet and turned to face Portia, now dropping herself into a fighting stance. She waited again and watched as her opponent pounced into the air again. 'Same dog, no new tricks.' she said as she pounced right back at Portia. This time Storm aimed to pounce by her opponents side and slash a claw along Portia's side before she landed.

.::Storm's aim is true, and she rakes her claws along the flesh on Portia's side. Portia's momentum carries her away from Storm after the attack and she lands on her feet. The wound is not life-threatening, but it is painful. Because of how Portia landed, the wound is deepest where it started, becoming more shallow as it gets closer to her hind end.::.

Storm was quick on her feet and no novice to battle. Portia felt the she wolf's claws dig into her side but winced not at the pain, she had suffered far worse a the paws of Ilana. The white wolf gracefully landed on her feet, managing to ignore the searing sensation in her side for the time being. She whips around once more and springs towards Storm's haunch as if to knock her over but dives at the last second and goes for the older wolf's back leg in attempt to bite it, and bring her down.

Storm smirked a bit as she landed down, feeling the blood in her claws as she turned her head over her shoulder. She knew Portia was quicker than her, at least as far as full body movement. She saw Portia pounce once again. Storm followed the younger wolf's eyes, seeing that she was aiming down for her leg. Immediately, she kicked the leg that Portia would be aiming at up, extending the claws out from it as well in an attempt to strike out at Portia with her hind leg and claws.

.::Storm reacts quickly, but not quickly enough. Portia grabs her leg and pulls her down hard. Blood spurts from Portia's wound as the two wolves fall to the ground.::.

Portia felt the sickening squelch of blood erupting from her gashes and winced at the pain. She had to finish Storm off quickly or she would end up doing more damage to herself than black wolf did. Portia didn't want to release Storm's foot so instead she held onto it and bit with as much force as possible hoping to crush the bones. This would leave her open for attack but it would also put Storm at a disadvantage.

This caught Storm a bit off guard, but the wolf was obviously used to pain by now, judging by the multitude of scars along her body. She even cackled a bit as she felt Portia bite even harder on her foot, attempting to break the bone. "Come on, harder. Hard. Er!" she growled out loudly and menacingly, the pain giving a more instinctive to hurt Portia. Storm decided to risk breaking her foot bone, but in return end the fight at the same time. She contorted herself a bit an swung herself around, and raising her head and chest up, aiming to slam down on Portia with her forepaws, claws unsheathed.

.::A sickening sound is heard as Portia crushes Storm's femur. The wound will mostly heal on its own, although Storm will have to stay off that leg for a few weeks, and a slight limp will remain. Bringing her claws down on Portia's head and neck, Storm does severe damage. Unable to defend herself, Portia's left ear is torn in half and she takes many deep scratches on her face and chest. Blood from her face pours down into her eyes, and the bleeding from her combined wounds is so severe that she loses her strength to continue fighting. Storm's ruined leg is still clenched in her jaws, but at this point Portia will be barely able to stand.::.

Portia felt Storm's leg crunch satisfyingly in her mouth. She could feel a mixture of bloodlust and rage building which she wouldn't be able to control much longer. Then suddenly Storm's claws came down on top of Portia's head and neck and she felt the deep inset of the older wolf's claws as they dug large chunks of her skin and fur out. The white wolf released Storm's decimated leg and felt herself starting to lose strength. The injuries she sustained were sapping her reserve quickly but then, through the blood dripping down into her eyes, she caught a glimpse of her pack, all of them watching her. She would be leading them some day and she couldn't be made a fool of like this. The rage and bloodlust raised to atomic levels within Portia and a sudden and extreme burst of adrenaline restored her strength. Any semblance of the Portia that had been fighting earlier completely disappeared and left a terrifying, bloodthirsty beast in its stead. This enraged wolf whipped around and with frightening precision, aimed straight at Storm's neck, and dived in for the killing blow.
Jaavan had been watching the fight and her fear had only grown. She knew her sister well and she had witnessed the fight between Porita and Cress so she was fully aware of Portia's awesome power when desperation set in. However, as the fighting progressed Jaavan thought Portia may be able to make quick work of Storm and hopefully it wouldn't escalate to the point in which Portia turned murderous. As the red wolf heard the sickening crunch of Storm's bones she thought it was over but she was wrong.
The blood from Portia's face and neck seemed to spout outwards in a bright red spray. Jaavan's silver eyes widened as it dawned on her that this fight had just turned serious. Storm was strong and, judging by the look of her battle scarred body, not the least bit inexperienced but Jaavan highly doubted she'd been up against any wolf similar to Portia. Her sister became a horrifying, deadly beast when her rage engulfed her and it spelled disaster not only for her, but her victims as well. Jaavan was reminded of that fateful fight between her brother and sister when Portia had first been pushed to such limits. Luckily their mother had been able to calm the bloodlust then but the sight was so terrifying Jaavan had avoided Portia the rest of the day. She also remembered what Ilana had told her: "Portia is like me. She was born with an incredibly destructive force inside her. Whenever she is pushed to her extreme limit, which could mean facing death or total body failure, she will utterly snap and be engulfed by a deadly rage. If this ever happens, I may need your help to stop her because she will kill anyone who gets in her way and ultimately self destruct."
Jaavan looked at Ilana and as soon as she made eye contact, she knew what she had to do. Plunging forward, Jaavan went straight at her sister and pounced onto her back, biting into some of the loose skin to get a good grip. It took all of her strength and most of her body weight to pull Portia's back end down to the ground to immobilize her.
Ilana had been viewing the fight and was pleased by what she saw in Storm. Although it wasn't known to the whole pack, Portia was their strongest fighter because of the deadly force and precision she possessed. Ilana had been training her since birth in many different fighting techniques both to dupe opponents and also be able to recognize their moves. However, Ilana was also aware that Portia was still young and not completely in control of her bloodlust yet. If she were pushed to the breaking point it would spell death for Storm and any who tried to stop Portia.
Ilana was impressed by Portia's move to crush Storm's leg and thus immobilize her but she was also impressed by Storm's retaliation. Instead of kicking out at Portia in an attempt to escape, like many wolves would do, Storm had allowed her leg to be crushed and struck a counterattack. By totally ignoring her own safety, Storm had managed to utterly maim her opponent. This was a valuable trait to Ilana as it meant Storm wasn't afraid to fight to the death. She would make a perfect Beta in her willingness to be sacrificed.
Ilana was about to call an end to the fight anyway as Portia had been beaten, when she saw what she dreaded most - the look of rage in Portia's eyes. Her daughter had lost herself and had now descended into full insanity that she was still unable to control. Ilana watched with horror as Portia snapped and regained her lost strength from a burst of adrenaline. Ilana had to act fast or she would lose Storm to the fangs of Portia. With a quick glance at Jaavan, Ilana jumped into the fray.
The alphess had to act quickly or Storm would be slain and Portia would completely collapse from the strain she was putting on her body...she may even die. Ilana herself experienced these bouts of rage but through careful training, she had managed to master this destructive force and channel it into her fighting. Portia's training had not yet reached this stage and Ilana cursed herself for not quickening the pace in which she trained her daughter.
As Jaavan held down Portia's back end, Ilana jumped in and clasped Portia's scruff. With all of her body weight leaning into her daughter, Ilana was able to push Portia to the ground but just barely. As long as she and Jaavan could keep their holds for just a few moments longer, Portia's adrenaline would run its course and she would collapse from her wounds and exhaustion. Then it finally happened. The lunatic scowl that had etched itself into Portia's face finally faded and she closed her eyes and passed out.
Ilana stepped back from her daughter, panting slightly from the effort it took to restrain her."Take her to the dens." she whispered to Jaavan and the two worked together to lift Porita's motionless body onto the red wolf's back. Ilana stood and watched as her two daughters exited the Amphitheater. She then turned her attention to her pack and exclaimed "We have a victor! Storm has proven herself worthy enough to assist me in leading this pack. She is now your Beta and you'd best respect her as you have now seen what she can do." Ilana walked over to Storm who, a midst all the confusion, had remained still. "The bones in your leg have been crushed. You will be fine as it is not a severe wound but you should not walk on it for awhile. I'm unsure but this may result in a limp that you will have for the rest of your days. You have done well and you may now retreat to the dens where you can claim one of your own so you may rest. Your Beta training will begin soon after your recovery." It was up to Storm if she wanted to stay and watch the next fight or rest her broken foot but either way, she had done well and had been rewarded with her Beta position. It was now time to see what the males were capable of.
The black and white alphess ascended her stump of a throne and sat regally atop it before looking at Raid and Bane. "It is now your turn to do battle to see who is most worthy of the Beta male position." Ilana smiled evilly and called out "Let the fight begin!"

Storm smirked wickedly as she saw the crushing blow land on the younger female. The already won battle was finally over, just as she saw the flicker in Portia's eyes. The battle scarred female had stepped back, and off of the thrashing Portia, as she allowed her family to pry her off, less work for Storm herself. It wasn't long before she got her answer from Ilana, she had passed. The she-wolf smiled victoriously before replying to Ilana. "I won't disappoint. Also, I'm going to see if White Magic will fix this. I don't want to be a burden, I want to be a wolf." she said to the female. Once all was said and done, Storm started to limp her way out of the territory and towards the mountains and the White Wolves Dens. She lifted her injured leg off the ground and walked on the other three, not caring if anyone helped her anyways. Despite any pain Storm might have been feeling, she didn't show a hint of it on her face, obviously used to pain and not caring what she had to go through in order to secure her place at the top, though she had no plans for challenging Ilana, not wanting a whole pack after her in a few short moments.

Raid had been beningnly watching the events unfold before him and was looking forward to watching the fight. Raid sat back on his tawny haunches as the fight began to unfold. It started off quite viciously as Portia went in for the first attack and as the fight progressed, Raid's skin began to crawl. Storm and Portia were strong fighters and incredibly violent against each other. Raid's mahogany eyes widened when Storm's leg was crushed to bits and when Portia's ear was torn. They were going to kill each other if something wasn't done. Luckily, Ilana stepped in to stop Portia from murdering Storm at the last second.
Raid shivered as he saw Storm's leg. She would probably have a limp for the rest of her life and Portia's ear was torn in half. This was not what he had in mind when volunteering for the beta position. From the looks of it, Bane was twice Raid's size and could easily beat him if a fight if Raid became cornered. What if Raid won and Ilana wanted him to fight Portia to prove himself? He really didn't fancy getting torn to shreds in a murderous rage. Portia was dangerous and Raid thought it best to avoid her if possible.
Raid stepped up to Ilana with his tail between his legs and his ears flat on his head. "Please alphess Ilana, I beg you not to force me to fight Bane. I withdraw my request to be Beta male...I beg you to allow me to continue with my scouting duties...I am not cut out for leadership." Raid assumed he would get a beating for his insubordination but it was better than being killed.
ooc: Juice you can let Ilana rough Raid up a bit if you want :3

Aspen
I wasn't really paying much attention to what was going on in the fight as it bored me. However, things caught my interest when I heard the ever so familiar sound of crunching bones. It was like music to my ears so I turned and decided to watch the rest of the fight unfold. It seemed that Portia had crushed the older one's leg. I laughed harshly at this, thinking it funny that a youngster like Portia could easily break Storm's leg. Storm wasn't a pushover though, and soon retaliated by ripping into Portia's face.
I wagged my tail, excited by the violence. Storm and Portia were putting on quite a show but my tail wagging stopped when I saw Portia's face. Something terrifying had entered into her expression and it was a chilling sight to behold. The young wolf looked like she was about to rip out Storm's throat. I felt a shiver as I beheld this and made a mental note never to cross her or it would probably be the end of me. What was even more horrifying was that it took the combined strength of both Ilana and Jaavan to hold her down before she finally succumbed to her wounds. I watched Jaavan lope away with Portia on her back.
I remained seated and watched as Storm was declared beta and wondered vaguely if Portia would exact revenge on Storm and if it would bring the battle scarred wolf's reign as beta to a quick end. I would be watching in the shadows to see if anything like this would come to pass. I laughed again when I saw Raid's reaction to his call to fight. What a cowardly little pup he was. He would surely receive a beating from Ilana which would also be fun to see. But...if Raid didn't battle Bane, who would?

I hadn't really been watching the fight after Ilana announced it, I was more captivated by Jaavan and continued to watch her. It was only when I saw a flash of fear reach her eyes that I became aware of what was happening. It seemed that Portia was in bad shape as she had been clawed and torn up badly by Storm. At first, I thought that Jaavan was simply worried for her sister's safety but when I saw Portia stand tall after suffering such severe wounds I was increculous. That any wolf could even stay concious after suffering so much was amazing but to stand up straight as if nothing had happened? Then Portia aimed a killing blow at Storm. What kind of monster was she? What kind of power did she possess?
None of my questions were answered as Jaavan and Ilana quickly intervened to ensure Storm's safety. I watched as Jaavan exited the amphitheater and decided to follow her. I was curious about Portia but I also wanted a chance to get close to Jaavan. Besides, I knew I probably wouldn't be missed.

Bane
I had nodded in acknowledgement when Ilana had given Raid and I a knowing look. We were going to be the next wolves to fight and I felt confident in my abilities to beat Raid. He was quick but I knew if I could just pin him long enough, I could inflict some real damage. I didn't have too much time to think about this though, as the fight between Protia and Storm soon began.
The fight started off normal enough. Both parties clearly knew how to fight and were vicious from the start. From what I observed, Portia was much quicker than Storm, but the older wolf had many years of battle under her belt and was therefore more experienced. They seemed quite evenly matched until Portia made quick work of Storm's leg. She had been able to crush it to smithereens in a matter of seconds but she hadn't gotten away unharmed. Storm had clawed into her face and done so much damage she'd torn Portia's ear asunder. I wondered how much longer Portia could possibly last after losing so much blood and it looked like the fight was over but then, to my shock, Portia stood up. The wolf who had been scratched and gouged to shreds actually stood up and got into position to attack Storm again.
I was incredulous. How could a wolf so young have such immense strength? Even the most experienced of wolves wouldn't have been able to hold out much longer let alone stand and strike a killing blow on their opponent. I truly believed I was about to see Storm die when Ilana and Jaavan stepped in to stop Portia. As I suspected, the alpha's daughter passed out and was taken away by her sister. Portia's strength was definitely something to behold and I wondered briefly if she had inherited her berserker abilities from Rhett or Ilana.
I was about to step up and take a fighting stance to battle Raid when he beat me to it. The scout crawled up to our Alphess, tail between his legs and ears down in a total stance of submission, to ask that he be spared. So he feared for his life then. Good, I would have easily killed him if we fought. Perhaps Ilana would force him to fight me anyway? After watching the bloody display from Storm and Portia I was ready for battle and my bloodlust had been awakened.

The black and white she wolf looked out into her pack members that had assembled and noted with some displeasure that Axel had left, seemingly to follow Jaavan. Ilana wasn't sure, but she felt something was up between those two. She would have to investigate further after the proceedings here were finished.
Ilana watched with some curiosity as Raid approached her but what she saw in his posture did not please her. As he cowered before her and asked not to fight she wasn't surprised. Raid's personality wasn't fit for a leadership role and her thoughts that he had only volunteered to impress Storm were confirmed when he backed out as soon as Storm had left the area.
"You insolent whelp!" she barked angrily. "How dare you take the beta position so lightly!" Ilana leaped from her stump and pounced on Raid. Biting his scruff, she pulled him down onto his back so his belly was exposed. Once down, she released his scruff and pushed her paw into his throat. "You will not be pardoned from this fight. You made a commitment when you stood to volunteer for this position. I will not allow you to disrespect my pack by backing out of this, now fight!" Ilana stepped back up onto her stump, annoyed that Raid had stepped up in the first place.
