Budding Love in the Meadow [Juice]

Venge lead Juniper to the meadow from the tombs. It had been many days since he joined with the promise to her mother that he would teach Juniper the ways of fighting.

Out here it would be open, and free, and far away from the memories of the past packmembers that would be disrespectful to bother with their training. His steps into this new area were less cautious and more comfortable and confident. Not to mention excited. He paused as a breeze passed by, breathing in and looking around at the big open space. He couldn't help but grin and feeling almost like a puppy again, ready to rumble around in the grass.

ready to get started, he looked behind him to his new student. Perhaps there would be some hidden talent in her that he could bring up.

Juniper followed Venge into the meadow from the tombs and again the butterflies seemed to flutter in her stomach. She was truly excited to start training with the handsome male, actually she was just happy to be around him but she didn't want to admit that to herself just yet. As they stepped into the meadow, Juniper took a deep breath and enjoyed the crisp smell of the grass and the newly fallen leaves. She really loved the cool, fall weather and figured it would be good to train in this weather.

Venge turned around to face her and Juniper looked him head on. She was slowly but surely starting to feel a bit more comfortable around him and was ready to fight. Juniper was going to show Venge what she was made of. "I'm ready!" she exclaimed enthusiastically.

He raised his brow slightly at her sudden show of enthusiasm. Hmmm...maybe it was the ear batting. Well whatever. He smirked a bit and sauntered over to her- almost teasing her by actually putting in a bit of effort to look attractive. "is that so?"

And then he would reach up with one of his front paws and go to press against her shoulder. If she was focused at all on the actual training part of it, she should be able to correct her balance before being completely pushed over by him.

It wasn't a big wrestling event or anything, but first steps were first steps for a reason right?

Juniper suppressed a giggle when Venge spoke. She was surprised to find she was actually pretty excited about the training. Maybe if she did well enough she could impress Venge. She watched as he lifted his paw and pushed on her shoulder. He had a lot more weight behind the push than Juniper had expected so her stance wavered but she managed to keep upright. "Is that all you got?" she asked teasingly.

He smiled. His weight with one paw was enough to catch her off guard, but she had adjusted. Good..

"If it was, I would be a bad teacher." he said chuckling, and putting more pressure this time, actually tryign to knock her over.

Juniper smiled at Venge's comment and prepared herself for another go. This time she vowed she wouldn't fall.

Juniper collapsed into the grass in the meadow that somehow remained soft even in the fall. She was utterly exhausted. She and Venge had been training for what had seemed like ages but was only a few hours in reality. Still this was enough for an amateur fighter to become winded and she needed a break. After sitting down and panting for a few minutes she said to Venge "Am I...getting...any better?" She was so winded her breaths cut into her sentence.

The young she wolf felt like she was learning quite a lot from Venge and she also thought she was developing some new skills that would help her later in life. She would be eternally grateful to Venge for his teachings and for a brief moment, she wondered what she could ever do to repay him. The butterfly feeling returned in her stomach and a combination of that feeling and her exhaustion made her light headed and giddy. "Come sit by me?" she asked, thumping her tail on the grass next to her.

He was not new to fighting, but it had been a while, and several hours of it had also worn on him a bit. "Yes." he replied with a smile, seeing that she was a bit of a quick learner. "You've caught on pretty good so far."

He was also panting, but at a much more casual rate than she was. He took this mometn to contemplate what he should teach ehr next, but his contemplation was interupted when she invited him to sit next to her. His tail swayed a bit at the kind offer, and he walked over next to her. He didn't sit though, he just lazily flopped right down onto the ground. He had no intentions of teaching ehr anymore for a while, and this felt like a good time to just relax.

Juniper smiled as Venge plopped down next to her. The young wolf looked down and away from Venge as her cheeks started to heat up again. Feeling how close Venge was to her made Juniper's heart beat faster and faster and she felt really excited. Maybe she really did like Venge as her mother had said, although she was at an age where agreeing with her mother wasn't even an option.

Juniper turned her light brown eyes to Venge and she observed him in profile. He was somewhat worn out from the fighting but not nearly as much as she was which was understandable. He was so strong and handsome. His yellow fur looked so bright against the brown, red, and orange colors of autumn and his eyes shone bright with life. Juniper was reminded of their first meeting at the Adoette Tree and how he had looked out for her then instead of taking advantage of her. The two hadn't known each other long but Juniper felt that she knew Venge's heart was noble and she was very attracted to that.

Suddenly, it felt as if Juniper was no longer in control of her body and time seemed to slow down. She could hear her heart pounding in her ear and her body leaning towards Venge. Her light brown eyes started to close as she brought her face closer to Venge's and then she licked him affectionately on the cheek. Time still felt as if it was creeping by as she pulled her face away only slightly and opened her eyes so that they could look into Venge's yellow ones.

Venge had just been relaxing - resting after a good wrestling match. But he froze as Juniper licked him in a way that he understood the meaning like any good wolf would. He knew that she liked him, just as Marley had said.

Not sure what else to do, he rolls onto his back a little bit and rolls around as if scratching his back in the tall grass. But he caught sight of her while he was down there, and stopped. His blush came back. Crawling back into a sitting position, he looked at her, now noticing how lovely she had looked and smelled that day. She was beautiful.

His heart also started to beat fast, and he felt as if his entire body was blushing, though it really wasn't. With a slight wag of his tail, he realized that Marley had seen someting neither of them could...and that he wouldn't be able to deny what he was feeling at that moment. So, he scooted closer to her and gave her an affectionate lick in return for hers...still blushing.

Juniper suppressed a giggle as she watched Venge roll around in the grass. He could be really cute when he wanted to be. Her light brown eyes beheld the blush that was now surfacing on Venge's face and in her heart she knew they were aware of each other's feelings. It felt as if her heart was going to float clear out of her body and up into the skies she was so happy. She received Venge's return lick and finally giggled, unable to suppress it any longer.

Juniper leaned into Venge and took a deep breath of his scent, wanting to commit it to memory. "Venge...I...I love you." she said. And then it happened, the words were out there, floating around and she couldn't take them back. For the first time in her life, Juniper felt she had been truly brave in having said those words. Although she believed Venge would reciprocate, she still held her breath in anticipation, worrying about his response.

Venge took a deep breath and felt his heart flutter as she confessed her feelings for him. He smiled lightly, and knew that those were his feelings too but when he thought about saying it...it felt odd, and scary. He shifted a bit, trying to get himself to say it but he just ended up sighing and licking her again. "I'm not all that good with my feelings...but I also like you."

Well...he did need to say something, and it's not like he was rejecting her.

Juniper blinked a moment before nuzzling Venge. It didn't matter how he said it, what mattered was that he said it at all and that was good enough for her. The little brown female was so happy she wanted to run around the meadow like a crazy wolf but decided that might not be the best idea right now. Instead, she snuggled closer to Venge and asked "Are we mates now?"

Venge's face might have looked orange witht eh intensity of his blush when she asked about them being mates. It was so direct and sudden..but when he thought about the answer, he couldn't find a way around calling them that. So, he supposed they were mates. He relaxed a bitat that realization. He had joined a pack, and he had gotten himself a mate.

"yes." he said finally," I guess that makes us mates." he chuckled a bit and allowed himself to get sucked into the emotions that they were feeling for each other.
