The howl for a new home (Request to join, But dead)

  Dark Side Of The Moon walked far from his old home in the Wildflower Clearing. No one knew where he was, or where he was going. He came to the border of the territory, and howled. He sounded older, much stronger. He was big for a pup his age. At about 6 months, he was almost 3 feet. To his 6 foot mother this was credited. Mountain Wolves were very big, they had to be to survive the harsh winter and dangerous spring. His howl lasted about 2 minutes.  All he wanted was to join a pack. He was born to a family of loners, he hated being alone except for his family.
  He wished his sister was with him. She was the only one who got Dark Side. The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to form his own pack. When I'm older, he meantly chided, for now, join a pack. Get used to a pack, then form your own.

Piala had been running around a lot lately. Hunting with new pack members, showing them around, generally getting to know them, as well as dashing to and from the border to assess newcomers, was taking up a lot of her energy...but it didn't feel like it. Finally her pack was growing, and at night she no longer howled alone. These days, Piala had boundless energy.

The alphess perked her ears at the sound of yet another howl. She could hear something in the voice that told her the howler was not full grown. So far, all her pack members were adults, but now that there were more of them, she could afford to take on youngsters who showed up. Truth be told, even if it had just been Piala, she would have done so anyway. She could never reject a pup in need.

Piala looked carefully at the wolf from a distance, trying to remain unseen. He was quite large, larger than Piala by a good bit, but she was not afraid. She was the alphess of a large pack upon whom she could call to defend her if needed. She didn't want to do that, but she could.

The white wolf approached the loner fearlessly. "Hello!" she called out when she got within earshot. "Fine day! My name is Piala, and I'm the alpha of this pack. Who might you be?"

Dark Side smiled. "My name Is Dark Side Of The Moon. And I like your name Piala.". This was amazing! He hoped he wouldn't blow it sky high.

Piala let her tail wag as the pup introduced himself, but also kept a calm demeanor. Most things in life, she had found, from leading a pack to setting a good example for a youngster, were about balance more than anything. "Thank you! I'm happy to meet you!" She smiled at him. "Tell me, Dark Side of the Moon, why did you howl? Are you looking to join the Eternal Snowfall pack?"

"Yes." Dark Side said. "And please, I perfer Dark Side." he added. He did perfer it. His name made him sound evil. And Moon just wasn't right. Dark Side sounded way better.
