Remus padded along the riverside, a safe distance from the slippery rocks that dominated the edges of the river. From the sapling grove territory, he knew to follow the river, and eventually it would lead into the depths of Frigid Plague's territory, advice given to him by Treason. Thankfully, they had crossed over the boundary a small while back, signaling that he and Gawain were truly on the evil pack's territory.
"Looking forward to practicing with Perjury?" Remus asked Gawain as they walked alongside the bank of the river. As he finished speaking, a small clearing emerged; instead of slippery rocks or dense vegetation, the shoreline was made up of a combination of sand and pebbles that smoothly led into the river. Above, the sun was slowly setting, its rays turning a deep reddish orange while the river added a quite, flowing song to the atmosphere.
"Want to stop here for a break? We've been travelling quite some time in this awful heat."

Gawain
The dominantly white wolf padded along behind Remus, content to follow. His ears twitched as they picked up the different evening sounds. Birds whistled nearby, calling to friends in preparation for their southern journey. Leaves rustled in the autumn breeze that threatened to shake them from their branches. The river rushed in a deadly silence that swept away anything that came within its shallow waters. Gawain walked on silently as not to disturb the world around him.
When end he heard Remus speak, he almost jumped out of his skin. "Yes-yes. Of course." He responded absentmindedly. Gawain continued walking quietly by the riverside, enjoying the sun setting over the multicolored trees. In his observation, he almost bumped into Remus as he stopped. Gawain nodded. "Sure..." He sat down and looked off into the distance.

Remus tilted his head to the side in confusion; Gawain more distant that excited. Rem briefly considered it was the view that had distracted him so, but dismissed it; when he had first chanced upon the region, the sights and views had faded into mere pleasant backgrounds for the northern wolf. Surely one who was born here would be used to them already? But it did indeed seem that he was entranced by the scene, nearly bumping into Remus as he gazed around.
"Never been in this area before?" He asked as he made his way down to the river, allowing the fast current to wash over his paws and lower legs, enjoying the coolness provided. Even though the weather had cooled down considerably, it was still a mild discomfort for him. He couldn't wait for winter. "Anyway, keep an eye out for Frigid Plague wolves. We're not expected or known, and I really don't have that Honovi smell to me yet," he said, looking around at the edges of the clearing, casually flinging a small and slow pebble at Gawain.

Gawain
He tore his gaze away from the sky. His eyes turned to Remus. He now stood knee deep in the water. Gawain padded over to the water and looked down at his reflection. "I don't think I've been here before." His shoulders rose in a shrug, but he kept his gaze down. "I was just deep in thought." With the speed of the current, Gawain was unable to see a clear reflection. There was only a blur of white in the water.
Gawain lifted his head and watched Remus. "I guess. I'm not much of a lookout wolf though." He turned his body away from the water and scanned the forest. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Gawain decided to mess around on his watch. He began pushing a pebble around with his power. It weaved through patches of grass like a wolf running a race. Gawain became entranced by the speed at which the pebble zoomed across the ground.

Little did the two males know, they were already in the company of the alphess. Perjury had long made use of her tunneling abilities to get from point A to point B at maximum speed, but she had only recently realized that it was also useful for espionage. She felt out the vibrations in the soil to pinpoint intruders and burrowed to them, lurking beneath the surface in a hollow chamber of her own making, she was able to make out most of their dialogue as they chatted amongst themselves. She took her time in evaluating her course of action, one benefit of spying. Another benefit was that, with no pressure to answer for themselves or awareness that they were being listened in on, she could be certain that the two were being truthful.
So, one wolf was a member of the Honovi. From the sound of it, he was new to their ranks, and she didn't recognize his voice. Still, as a Honovi wolf he was an ally. The other wolf did not mention his allegiance, but it was not wholly unlikely that he was also a member of the Honovi. The first wolf mentioned her by name, but she could not make out his every word. Well, she supposed that was her cue.
Tunneling a bit further, she pushed up and cracked the hardened surface of the soil a little ways away from her visitors. Pulling herself out of the hole with ease, she let it close itself back up and smooth itself over. "Good evening, gentlemen." The alphess said, her yellow eyes looking back and forth from Remus to Gawain.

(Uh, yeah, thankies. Just been busy at work. And good grief, talk about writers block.)
Remus tilted his head to the side in concern; he knew he hadn't spent much time with Gawain, but this seemed rather unlike him. He failed to make eye contact and only offered vague and distracted comments, while his overall character seemed unexcited and bored. For once in quite a long time, Remus felt worried about another wolf.
"May I ask what you're thinking of? You seem might immersed in your thoughts." Remus asked, wading deeper into the rushing river until the threat of being swept away was a hair away from becoming reality; the coolness of the river was so welcoming. But Gawain distracted him once again, absentmindedly playing with his powers. But Remus noticed that some of the stones were moving independently, or at least differently from the motions bound closely with telekinesis. Before he could put the strange movements with a specific alphess's powers, a wolf rose from the ground as if it was water. Remus nearly succumbed to the current in shock, but regained his balance before he could fall in.
Padding out of the water, he spoke to who he knew had to be Perjury. "Good evening" He said in turn, regaining his air of dignity that seemed to come so naturally when first meeting a wolf, "My name is Remus, a member of a pack allied with yours, I believe. And this is my acquaintance, Gawain. We've, er, ccame for advice on using pour powers..."

Gawain
Gawain realized what was distracting him. His father. He hadn't seen his dad in forever. Ever since Camelot had fallen apart. Gawain had been old enough to live on his own by then, so when Camelot ended, Gawain left his dad and his mom. Him and his mom had never really been close and Castor had become very independent. However, Gawain had deeply connected with his dad. They did a lot together. Now that he was living on his own, he missed that fatherly bond. Gawain's realization made him come to a decision right then and there. He was going to visit his dad after this lesson. A smile formed on his lips. Now he could concentrate on the lesson at hand.
He turned to Remus. "Nothing. It's over now." He gave the wolf a warm smile. Then the earth shook and a wolf appeared out of the ground, the hole closing behind her. Gawain recognized Perjury, so he wasn't surprised by the shewolf, but he still gaped at her massive display of power. The full authority of the shewolf dawned on Gawain. He was no longer an alpha pup. It would be rude not to acknowledge her authority. Gawain bowed his head and stood to greet her. "Yes. It is good to see you Alphess. We wish to expand our knowledge on our power and hopefully grow stronger as well. We were hoping you would be willing to teach us."

(*brushes off the cobwebs and coughs out dust* I'M ALIVE YOU GUYS)
"Advice, you say?" Her voice trailed off as she considered the situation before her. She could understand wanting to learn from the best, but the last time she had to contend with dirt clods and dust was when she was a week-old pup. Perjury's power grew with her, she had no idea like what it felt to be a "normal" wolf, let alone one who had a power suddenly thrust upon them in adulthood. But, they had come all this way, and a small part of her enjoyed showing off.
Remus was welcome on her lands if he was a member of the Honovi, but this other wolf...for some reason, she didn't have the immediate urge to expel him. She got the feeling that she they had crossed paths some time ago. "You," she said, turning to the other wolf, "Tell me your name and the name of your father. You look familiar."

((Lol. This has been inactive so long that it didn't tell me when someone had posted. XD Anyway, don't mind if I do!))
Gawain
He cocked his head to the side. She doesn't recognize me? Gawain thought deeply. I have grown and matured. And I guess we really only met once. Plus, I was a pup. No alpha, let alone Perjury, would pay any heed to a cowering pup. He did recall hiding behind his father's legs and peering up at her in awe from his safe shelter. It had been a major experience for him to meet someone knew, also being aware that she was one of the most powerful wolves in the valley. He had looked up to her and her power since he had gained his own. Now he was awestruck that he was able to stand before her and ask for advice as a full grown wolf who has practiced his power for many moons.
Gawain dipped his head again, smiling to himself at the recollection. "Yes. Please excuse my bad manners. My name is Gawain. I am the son of the fallen Alpha Uther of Camelot. We met once when I was a puppy. I do not blame you for not recognizing me. I was very quiet and shy." He raised his head and gave her a humorous smile. "As you can see, that wolf is gone now. He has been transformed into a curious adult who wishes to expand his own abilities and carve his own path in the world. Will you help me?"

Remus stood back and watched respectfully; they had meet at least once; that was for sure. A slight awkward feeling washed over Remus; he felt as if he was the third wheel in all this. He quickly dismissed the thought; there were important and powerful things to be learnt here, and he was not going to pass it up.
"Me as well; i wish to grow to fully understand the powers so unique to this region." He said, his voice hard and determined. His current powers of telekinesis where quite weak in comparison to Perjury's; he did not wish to show off what he had so far, even though he dearly wanted to. But with any luck, their little quest would result in a greater level in which they could use their powers.

Perjury's brow raised as the male introduced himself. Camelot...yes, she did remember. It was a small upstart pack that formed in the forest. How long ago Perjury did not recall, but clearly long enough that its smallest heir had grown. In the back of her mind, her own biological clock audibly ticked. Frigid Plague did not yet have an heir. "I see," she replied, quieting the sound in her head, "I do remember visiting the territory shortly after it formed. Your pack dissolved quite a long time ago." It was clear from the utter lack of emotion in her voice that she was not offering her sympathies, and certainly not inviting Gawain to explain his life story.
"If I recall correctly, and I believe I do, we never formed an open borders agreement with Camelot. And even if we had, the agreement would have become null and void the moment the structure of the pack broke down. Now, if I understand our alliance with the Honovi correctly, and I am sure that I do, the Frigid Plague does has an open borders agreement with Honovi wolves." She looked at Remus, narrowing her eyes, "Honovi wolves. Not 'Honovi wolf and guest.'" She looked back to Gawain once more, expression hardened, "With that understood, it would seem that you are trespassing on my lands."
She said nothing, letting their error sink in for as long as it took to make them sweat. "So, I will offer whatever teaching to the both of you I can give, because I have a charitable heart. And Gawain, the next time you step foot on this territory without Honovi scent on you, I will rip out your genitals with my teeth. Are we crystal clear?"
