Perhaps it was Tala's stubbornness and her determination to complete all tasks set before her that drew Obscure to her. Perhaps it was how she knew how to adapt to different situations like he himself could. The great wolf with milky blue eyes stalked through the grasses of Amoux Creek, white coat gleaming in the light as if he had only recently groomed himself. Every part of him was neat and orderly, save for his muzzle - stained red with the crimson life-force of the young buck he had killed. Dark was the splash of colour against his fur, seeping into the roots with every second it took to get to the waters of the Creek. His well-defined muscles rippled as he walked, showing off a magnificent physique - one that was well exercised.
Obscure was sure that Tala would not be far behind, they had dropped off their oxen at the den area of Frigid Plague. He had not truly known how to get there via other options, familiar as he was with his own den. It was big, comfy, perfect for a wolf such as him who might want to stretch out - and room for a visitor as well. Obscure was well pleased with it. His thoughts wandered as he walked, wandering back to thoughts of Tala. How she had ripped open the ox's throat. How she had looked from under his body. How she had promised to keep in line, and how he knew she would stick to that promise.
Obscure grinned darkly and continued on his way. Stepping gracefully into the cold waters of Amoux Creek with small waves lapping at his knees, Obscure dipped his muzzle into the water. The liquid washed over his snout and nose, filtering through his teeth and cleaning away all traces of the blood that the child had left on him. When he was satisfied (of course he would not settle for anything but the best), Obscure lifted his head from the chilly depths of the Creek and swiftly removed himself from the water. It was not that he did not like the cold, in fact he loved it, but the waters were deep at this time of the year and he felt no need for him to increase the chances of the rushing waters potentially sweeping him downstream.
Not that he couldn't withstand the forces of the creek, of course, but it was always better to avoid the risks unless there was something to be gained - and then one should be careful. Throwing his thoughts back to the matter at hand, Obscure settled himself into a comfortable sitting position and waited for his hunting partner.
EEk! Sorry it took so long, but I had very little muse XD
