@tearinmyheart
Ramone yawned widely. The last few nights had been wonderful. The season of cold and bare branches was gone. Spring was here, fresh green shoots and small buds and blooms, sweet perfumes and fragrances drifting through the cool rain washed air. The valley was aglow with life and surely magic. The power flowed through the land. The black wolf stood and stretched his long lithe legs, his claws flexed out onto the moist earth. He turned his smirking head to where his mate had slept the night before, in the large den the pack had dug up at the beginning of the winter. She wasn't there....hmmm....Ramone decided she must be out hunting. He hoped she was okay, Trar hadn't been feeling very good the past weeks, she was very grumpy as well. But something stirred in him, making him fidgety. Something big was happening today.
The male stood all the way and yipped his exotic bark, calling for his love. Ramone's tangerine eyes were bright with excitement. Electricity ran through his veins, spreading like wildfire, lighting up his eyes. His blue ringed tail swished and curled, not able to stay still. "Tear?"

The ever so grumpy she wolf, Tear, was laying close to a pond with her teeth bared. She had gained quite a bit of weight and at the moment, he had been feeling a splitting pain in her stomach. At her mate's call, she lifted her head and felt incredibly weak. It made her feel vile and pathetic how much she needed help. The old evil in her refused to let her cry out for it. With a grunt, she let her was fall back on her paws. "I went to get a drink, but I suppose my legs had other plans."
After several deep breaths and mental encouragement, she struggled to get up and start walking. Another pain coursed through her and her legs wobbled. She bared her teeth again and clenched her jaw, scolding herself because of her weakness. It has seemed like it took her forest to get close to their den, but it had just been a minute or so. She could se Ramone from where she was, and she forced a cheery smile. Of course, she refused to let her mate see her in this state and turned towards their den. Se hadn't noticed se was breathing fairly heavy when she was on her way. When she did arrive, she laid down and panted. She wanted comfort, but didn't want anyone to come close to her and her burden.

Ramone was about to fling himself into the brush just as he spotted her. Tear looked like she was going to pass out. He rushed to her and nudged her ear. She smelled funny, the scent jabbed at him setting him on edge, his fur standing on end."Are you okay? You look tearibble. Get it? Aw never mind." He spoke anxiously, his jokester side bubbling through fiendishly. Pressed up against her, he could feel her feverish heat sliding off her in waves. He parted from her side as she slipped into the shadowy den. Ramone peered in with curiosity. His tangerine eyes bright and feverish. Tear smelled funny...."Tear?" He made to pad inside, ducking his head.

(pregosaurus incoming) The realization hit like her paws on stone. She was an idiot. They really couldn't put two and two together? She cringed and glanced up at Ramone nervously. How was she supposed to word it carefully. She was also tearified that if he found out that she was having pups, he might leave her there and disown her. She froze up at the idea and looked to and fro. In a rush of adrenaline, the words tumbled out of her mouth like a flood through a beaver dam. "One, that was a horrible joke and two, I'm having pups, sorry, not sorry? The way she said the last bit sounded more like a question than a statement. Her heavy belly laid upon the stone floor and her gray and brown legs worked harder than they would need to normally to scoot her a bit farther away from the entrance. The mottled she wolf curled upon herself and whined pathetically.
(off to church for a play!)

Well wasn't he thick. A skull thicker than the earths crust! A brain smaller than a walnut. Ramone was dumb. But who needed smarts when you've got looks, right? Ramone's eyes stretched wider that a full moon at equinox, round and as orange as the dawn. His pupils shrank into tiny dots and almost dissapeared. His long sharp ears folded back on his neck as his legs began to shake. Jelly legs. Completely jelly. Ramone nearly collapsed before he got his bearings. His handsome jaw dropped to the floor.
"You didnt like my joke?" He said disbelievingly. He grinned before stumbling drunkedly off. "Hear that world? Ima gonna be a father! Gonna have the best kids too! Beat that!!!!" The gamma practically howled his bark was so loud. His tail flopped to the ground with the rest if him. The soon to be father stared up at the blue sky in a daze....

Her worried face soon turned into a smile she understood that Ramone wouldn't hurt her, she understood that he loved her. She began to laugh as her mate became giddy with excitement. Tear still laid where she had been before hand, laughing to hard and having too many cramps to get up. Once she caught her breath, though, she attempted to get up. She struggled but did succeed and she hobbled over to where her mate was. She bumped him with her muzzle a grinned. "The whole mountain range doesn't need to know, hun," she said, just slightly concerned.

-later-
Ramone was happy. The sun was shining, the air was clean, the pack was growing. Loners had been howling at a constant rate at their borders, he couldn't wait to meet the new additions. Well he'd already net three new members. Chance, Helios & Bianca. They were beautiful pups, just like their mother...Ramone smirked....and as handsome as their father. The long legged black wolf was currently hiding in a shrubbery. A holly bush to be exact. The leaves were shiny and green, and the needle sharp prickles were very, very sharp. It hurt, but he got over it, because he was hiding from...them. Ramone shivered. The twin hunters were after him. They were going to destroy him. Ramone looked out of the hedge, tangerine eyes narrowed to slits. All of the sudden the hair in his ruff sprang up. They had found him! Ramones eyes widened as he whirled around, leaping out if the bush to escape their grasp, but he had fallen into their trap. They had him flanked.
"Found you!!!" A high pitched squeal rippled through the air as a tiny beige body rocketed through the air to knock into Ramone, sending the leggy male to the ground. "Git you now daddy!" Helios grinned and battered his ribs with his clumsy paws.

Chance soon followed after his brother, loyal to the end when his family wanted or needed anything. He ran around the bush when his father tried to flee and found his brother taking 'good' care of Ramone. He squealed as well and ran as fast as his short chubby legs could carry him towards the two. He punched next to Helios and tried to chew lightly on his dad's shoulder. "He must be executed!" He pulled away and after a moment, changed his mind. "Um, maybe he doesn't have to be. Mom probably wouldn't let us anyways," He said, giggling.
Still, there were two more wolves in the small clearing where a family was staying. One of the she wolves broke away from their pair and trotted over, fairly quickly. Then, faster than an eye could follow, the she wolf lunged forward, and closed her jaws around the nape of the beige pup's neck fur. She tossed her head to the left and dropped the pup when her head was close to the ground. She snarled, then failed to stay serious and the mother grinned. "Chance, Helios, are you troubling your father? That's a crime. Punishable with TICKLES," Tear rumbled and tickled the pups belly with her nose and licked his face. ——————————-

Helios batted his father playfully, looking back cheekily at his brother. (His brothers pelt was a merry blue imprinted with large dusty triangles, odd indeed, but hey) Only to see his mother bounding towards them. He squealed as Tear crushed them with tickles, her patched fur brushing his nose. Helios sneezed before continuing to giggle. "Im no criminal! I'm a hero!"
Ramone squirmed under his children's attacks. It wasn't long before his mate joined in on the fun. Now he was wedged underneath two pups and Tear. Coughing a bit, he wriggled his way out of the pile, standing over the three. "I Ramone, proclaim myself King over you! Now bow!" the wind was picking up and dark clouds rolled onto the sky like hungry wolves with thunderous barks. A storm was coming. "You see?! Even the heavens obey my every whim!!" He cackled an evil laugh, it resonated out only to be drowned out by thunder as a bolt if lightning struck nearby. Too close for comfort. Ramone's fur spiked up with electricity. He cursed and pranced away, eyeing the sky skeptically. "Lets go find shelter." He murmured.

"I saved you from fiends and this is what I get? Blasphemy!" She barked before the downpour of water. When the water hit her fur, she froze and stood stock still. Tear was still afraid of rain and thunderstorms. Especially now that she had a family that depended on her and Ramone. Her pupils shrank and her turquoise eyes filled with fear. When her mate spoke, it pulled her back to reality and she took what he said into consideration. "Let's go. Now." She had spoken a little harshly, but it was for the sake of her pups and mate.
At least that's what she told herself. She shouted to her daughter,"Bianca!" She spun on her heels and galloped back where she had left her. Scooping up the pup, she took in the fact that her daughter shared her markings. She was proud of her, but she loved them all the same. Chance, on the other hand of this situation, tried to run after his mother, but lagged behind. Instead, he turned around and wobbled back to his dad. "Dad. Why is Mom acting like that? We're not scared!" The blue pup stood next his tan brother with curiosity.

Ramone picked up his blue son, trusting that Helios could keep up on his longer legs. He didnt answer his sins querie, hoping that he would get the gist if it. Chance's scruff hung from his gentle grasp. He looked back at his mate, his tangerine eyes widening at the fear traced into her usually stoic features. He faintly wondered what had happened in her past to spark this phobia. But those thoughts were short lived as another thunder clap cleaved the heavens, wreaking chaos on the earth in the form of lightning.
Ramone tightened his grip on his son as he made his way to the den, thrusting Chance inside. In the back of his mind he worried that he had dropped him too hard. Ramone dismissed that thought quickly as well, ushering the eldest son, Helios into the den. Ramone straightened, nostrils flared, claws digging into the dampening earth with anxiety. He had never been afraid of storms before now, but something in Tear's panicked eyes had sparked fright in his heart. The pups weren't safe as long as they were in the storm.

"Dad!" Chance shouted, agitated that he wasn't getting a response. When he was scooped up, he squirmed. When he was tossed into the den, he had shakily landed on his paws and grunted. When he spun around to face the entrance, he watched his fearful mother trotted over with his sister gently swinging from her muzzle. He was always used to seeing his mother happy and smiling. Why is Mom different now? As if on a perfect cue, another boom of heart-stopped sounded and something clicked in his head the young pup understood their situation. Mom's afraid of the storm.
And her sons guess hit the nail perfectly on its head. The elegant she-wolf set down her her and black and blue she pup gentler than her mate had dropped Chance. Watching all her pups arrive to their makeshift den, she walked back towards Ramone at a swift pace. She whined, it was almost inaudible to her own ears. She moved to whisper in his ear, "I'm sorry. I don't know if you remember, but I explained everything about my fear of storms back at the Redwood dens. I was afraid then too, but then I didn't have three pups."
She spoke rushed and kept glancing back at her children, almost as if she looked away for two long, they may disappear. Tear snapped her attention back to her mate again and said in a hushed whisper, "I'm probably starting to frighten the kids. I don't want them to be pitiful like their mother. Maybe I should leave for a few days or at least for the storm. Then, perhaps I could work to get over the fear, or even snag a few more members for our pack. Anything to keep Chance, Helios and Bianca, calm for the most part.

Ramone sighed with frustration. "Ugh, I....Tear! Uuoh. Fine." The handsome black wolf nodded, giving in. "Be safe. Be careful." He nuzzled her cheek. "Come back soon." He was such a worry wort. The male turned back to his kids. Examining their faces. Bianca's was rather blank, Chance's was slightly angry and worried, Helios' eyes were bright with excitement. Ramone shook his head and sighed again.
"Mommy is going out for a little walk in the rain, alright? Us four are going to have a nap in here, then when the storm is over we can go play in the puddles alright!" Ramone yipped with fake excitement. He was worried for tear, her fear had gotten worse. Was it his fault? It probably was, he was doing a horrible mate. He sighed and curled around his pups to sleep.

Tear Her turquoise eyes filled with sadness. It broke her gentle heart to see her mate like this. Yet, he was staying the strong Ramone that she had first met in the Forest of Love, for the pups. That's what she really loved about him the most. She couldn't never show him how much she cared, because that would be simply impossible. She gave him a soft smile and returned the nuzzle before looking back at their family. The precious things. She plastered a cheery smile on her face and blinked to clear her eyes and padded over to the trio.
She took extra care to make sure her facade was perfect and simply hoped and prayed that the little ones wouldn't poke or pry as to why she was leaving. She gave each of them a lick on their forehead and said, "I'm going on an awesome adventure that only Moms can go on. I'll make sure to bring a gift for each of you." She turned and started to head away from their makeshift den, and cast a grin over her shoulder. When she turned away again she dropped her head and frowned, starting to want to sob loudly.
~exit Tear, who's gonna go get kidnapped~
Chance Chance, tilted his head. Mom as leaving? Why? The little blue pup watched his mom and dad converse but his young ears couldn't quite pick out the words that they were speaking. He didn't quite understand, but perked up his ears when she padded over. A Mom adventure? That's sounded super cool. His doubts were wiped away and he didn't even question his mother's earlier actions. She jumped up and licked his mother under the chin before scurrying back to where he stood before hand. He let his tongue loll out and as she left, shouted,"Bye Mom!"

Ramone couldn't get to sleep. Even though the storm had calmed while he entertained the littles, he was worried about Tear. The more he thought about her going away, the more sure he was that she needed him now more than ever. However he couldn't just leave their pups alone. Even if they were in the pack lands, that didnt mean a fix or a bear couldn't wander past their borders and...he shuddered at the thought of any creature harming his little ones. The sleek male sighed and buried his nose into his fur and squeezed his tangerine eyes shut.
'She'll come back. Everything is fine.'
———
Finally, dad was asleep! Helios nodded grimly to himself. He had to do this, for mom! The handsome pup justified what was happening shortly. Justified with a false reason of course. Frankly, Helios was sneaking out to see the world how it really was, unguarded by the parents he knew and loved. Now that dad was snoring louder than the thunder was, he could make his escape. Deftly, he pulled his soft paws out from under him and crept silently to the mouth if the den, glowing golden eyes wide, scoping the den for any signs of his family waking.
