Mist found herself pacing around the tombs, where the ancestors of Eternal Snowfall lay. She had no idea why she had chosen to come here of all places. Summer had set in upon her arrival from her journey to Honovi, but the sun's warmth never penetrated her light fur. She felt cold inside, knowing her family was dead and that the only remaining member had rejected her so cruelly. Her heart stung and she didn't know what to do. All the time spent searching, hoping, praying, all wasted, and for what?
She finally gave up the pacing and laid down in a shadow, burying her head under her paws. What was left for her now? She was weak, nervous, and useless to everyone, even— no, especially her brother. It was killing her inside.

Tear had been running away from her den, her mate, and her pups. She had seriously scared her mate and her pups seemed frustrated with her. She had panicked and dragged Bianca by the scruff dropped her in the den. Oh, she was so pathetic. She used to be Evil! Who would believe that now? Her heart ached and she wondered if she should just stay away from her family and the only interaction she would have with their pack would be the mandatory actions and such. They would think poorly of her, but, oh, who even cares anymore, right?
She shook her mottled fur to try and clear her head, but instead it slowed her down and she stopped completely. Her turquoise eyes watered and she felt like burrowing her face into her paws. She panted and saw another wolf doing just that. She let a sad smile show and she trotted over to the grey she-wolf that lay not too far away. Tear shakily reached down and gently nudged the other wolf's shoulder and laid down beside her, her head on her paws. Their composure seemed to match in their sadness and want to feel useful to someone.

Mist snapped to attention at the sudden presence of another. She stared for a moment in shock.
Were those tears?
Her alarm quickly faded into pity, understanding, then sorrow. She let her head fall on the warm grass again. How selfish it had been of her to think she'd be the only one in pain. Life goes on, with or without you, and she had to remember that. "What b-brings you here?" she asked, her voice a raspy whisper that could easily be mistaken for a pup's. What brings me here? she silently wondered. She'd come here to have a wall to fall back on during her search, and now that she was empty-handed, she didn't know what to do anymore. She was useless to her brother, her pack, even herself. She was weak and dependent and nothing but a sob story. How was she supposed to pick herself back up? A sight to behold, she was- a laughable one, at that.

She turned her multi-colored head to look at the other female whose eyes showed the sadness that she knew shone in her own. A sad smile slipped on her lips as she responded with, "Running away from fate. My mate. My pups. My pack. I wasn't good enough for them. My pups see me as a fearful, pathetic, excuse for a mother." She was ranting yet again wasn't she? She had always ranted. Especially to Whisper, her brother, and Ramone, her mate. She was such a bother to them both.
"Not to mention, I haven't able to do anything for my pack, what great gammess, I am." She spat out the word 'great' as if it was poison in her mouth and could hardly stand it. She sighed deeply. Tear lifted her head slightly and shook it, before lowering it again. "I'm Tear by the way. Enough of me, though. Now, it's your turn. Two sad she wolves is better than one. At least we can talk to each other, even if we are strangers," She said and smiled again.

The silver wolf was taken aback by Tear's words. Here she was, sulking over a rejection and the death of a long-gone brother, and next to her was someone with present problems of far greater magnitude than her own. "So, y-you're the gammess, eh?" she chuckled to herself. She often forgot how new she was to the pack. "I'm Mist. I b-believe I haven't had the p-pleasure of meeting y-you." Maybe the entire valley's lives were falling apart, not just theirs. "I found my b-brother after being separated from him as a p-pup, and he was almost d-disgusted with me. Like I'm a-a-absolutely useless. Of course, I have n-no advantageous features whats-soever, so I'd suppose he's r-right. He's found a n-new home, and he doesn't need me th-there." She found herself laughing again. "I'm p-pathetic. I don't h-have any right to be s-sulking when there's others wth b-bigger problems.."
She looked back at Tear, the grim smile still spread thin across her maw. "I don't s-suppose we have to be strangers. F-friends in low places, r-right? I d-don't have many friends."

She listened intently as Mist spoke of her own troubles. Actually, to her, rejection of her brother seemed worse than rejection from your pups and mate. Her mate hadn't rejected her in all honesty, just didn't understand. If Whisper had rejected her, Tear probably would crumble and fail to exist very much. She wouldn't strive for anything anymore and just give up. Even if her family and pack stood behind her, she wouldn't be able to stand on her own.
"Rejection by family is the hardest. From what I can tell, he made a huge mistake. You don't seem like the useless type and I've seen my own fair share of those, believe me. My problems can be easily solved and my heart can be mended. Yours could be broken forever, if you let it get to you, it hurts."
She said each word with determination, she wouldn't let another wolf feel broken. Hadn't there been enough broken wolves? There needed to be happy wolves, ones that could meet someone that they fell in love with. You never knew. There were always chances for possibilities. Making friends with Mist and working together and cheering each other up could start something. Tear would be proud to be apart of it with Mist.

Shock spread across Mist's face as the words reached her flat ears. Someone, in such a predicament, was willing to console her and make her feel wanted. Somebody, obviously already so broken, was still willing to sacrifice a piece of herself to contribute to fixing another. One phrase stuck in her head more than anything else, "you don't seem like the useless type." She'd never been called useless, but she's spent so much time feeling like she was that she was amazed anyone would think so highly of her.
To anyone who didn't know her, she had looked like a wreck through and through, but in all reality, she was holding herself together fairly well. Tear finally broke her composure, however. She was the one who truly made her fall apart. Tears started flowing uncontrollably from her eyes. "I.. th-thank you.. thank you s-s-so much..." she spoke between sobs, and laid her head on Tear's shoulder in thanks. She'd never been so grateful to anyone, especially with having known them this short of a period of time.
She let herself fall into silent thought for a little while. By the time she spike again, her voice had cleared up considerably. "I d-don't know why I bother calling him my b-brother anymore," she stated bluntly. "We've been apart so l-long we're strangers."

She turned to gaze at her, curiously when she leaned against her shoulder and gently nuzzled the other she wolf as she would to her pups. At that moment, her goal she had wanted to fulfill, was comforting Mist, a wolf who had once been a stranger to, just moments ago. A chuckle rumbled in her throat, but never seemed to escape her mouth. "Don't be like that," she murmured. "He will always be your brother. You could hate his guts, and he could hate yours, even if you two never once saw each other and had mountains between you, he would still be your brother. I know, because we share that, you and I." She thought about her own brother and their best friend. They would need to get together again, but that was beside the point. Still, she spoke something that she had thought over two years again and gazed at her scar on her right shoulder. "Wounds can heal."

A young puppy padded over, looking worried. He had been looking for his brothers, Ajax and Valor, but with no luck. He soon saw two wolves and ran over to see if they had seen them. His name was Ty, one of Zeke and Shiver's six boys. Ty was known as the second smallest one, but it didn't bother him in the least. Ty slowed to a walk when he came up to the two wolves. "Excuse me,but have you seen a small bright green wolf or a white wolf with black spots?" Ty asked worriedly. Valor could be a pain sometimes, getting almost all of their mother's attention, but Ty still loved him. Ajax, Ty was actually fond of.

Mist smiled a bit and lifted her head. She was about to respond, but soon forgot her words when a worried pup approached them. Mist rose in surprise, listening to the pup's request. "I'm afraid I haven't," she said grimly, looking towards Tear with a grim expression. "Is there something wrong?"
Missing wolves were one thing, but missing pups were a different story. They were the future and had to be protected, White Magic knows she hadn't been. "Can I do anything to help?" Her previous conversation had been long forgotten; pushed to the back of her mind, but the renewed strength it provided lingered. She would do what she could to help the small wolf at all cost. She wouldn't let another family get split up right before her eyes, She refused to let it happen.[/b]

Tear, herself had risen to her paws as well. Acting more like the mother that she had just become not too long ago, she padded forward gently and dipped her head to reach the pup's head and gave it a comforting lick. If the pup was looking for his siblings or just other pups, there was no reason for him to be frightened by the two wolves that could help.
She thought of her own pups and put her hurt behind her and directed her determination to helping the pup that needed them. "I'm afraid to say that I haven't seen those two wolves either, but Mist and I can surely lend some help," she said, with a nod. She knew she shouldn't have offered Mist's help in her own offer, but she took the that she would for granted.

Ty bowed. "Thanks so much for the offer. If you could look around here, and maybe find my mom to see if she has seen them? I have a really bad hunch..." he said, before turning to leave. He had the worst suspicion, and he had to find out if it was true or not. He was hoping not. If they where off to one of the other packs, they would be in deep trouble with that pack, and Mom and Dad. Mom would be Super mad. Ty started running, his silver paws making a pitter pat sound. He ran out of the territory, and off to the forests. ~Exit Ty~

Mists face dropped at the pup's parting. So much for that "second chance".
She shook her head and let a slightly forced smile appear on her face. She wouldn't be sad. She couldn't; that would mean all of Tear's efforts would be wasted. Instead, she looked back at Tear, her smile growing a bit more natural with the passing seconds. "I suppose there's nothing we can do, then." She let out a little laugh. "Th-thank you for talking to me. I appreciate it m-more than you can imagine. A-and hopefully you've gained s-some wisdom from it, as well."
Mist turned back away from Tear, pacing off opposite the direction the pup had gone. What was she to do, now?
She sighed. I'll serve my pack any way I can, she swore. I'll grow out of who I am, just you watch, brother.
