Brothers in More Than a Name [Swan/Dancer/Mike/Rollan]

 Swan frowned as his paws planted down onto the grass. He looked out at the land before him. It was beautiful during the summer, life was abundant. The grass was bright green, good for the prey to eat and get fat off of. Which made good meals for the valley's wolf population. Yet it upset Swan as he looked over the land and the grazing prey. This wasn't what he wanted. There was too much dry land for his taste.

"I'd rather be fishing." Swan grumbled, his ears pulling back against his skull. He didn't really have the experience in chasing down such large prey. "But I guess we should probably start surrounding one of these herds... Question is which of these are the weakest?" Swan frowned as he laid down. He narrowed his eyes as he watched their next possible meal. It was tough to judge even though they were a large group, not everything was set in stone.

It was a good thing they were together...

"What do you guys think?" Swan asked as he looked over at the rest of the group.

Dancer trotted over eagerly and stood a little farther away from Swan. She watched the landscape in a similar matter, but instead of loathing the dry land, she was finally glad that she had it. She had been craving for a landscape that she could stand in and gaze around her, yet see no water. Water didn't bring back the happiest memories. Then again, what did? The lavender wolf smiled.

Then the makeshift alpha of their ragtag group began to complain. With a slight exaggerated roll of her dull eyes, she turned and walked over to him and gently shoved him with her shoulder. "Sheesh, Swan. You really do complain all the time, don't you, huh?" After she spoke, she laughed loudly and turned to give a smile. Dancer knew fairly well, that he hated it when she did that.

She danced away, in case he snapped at her or lashed out in anger. Either way, she spoke up again with, "Not sure, let's ask Rollan or Mike for their opinion." Speaking of them, she turned around and trotted back over to the pair of males. They had been a huge help, and even if Swan forgot, she would take care that she wouldn't.

Mike:
Mike surveyed the area. His ear flickered as Swan complained, but Mike pretended not to here. Mike was not a good fisherman, but he had lived here for a few years. He smiled at Dancer, when she looked back. His face became stern, as he looked around. "We won't BE hunting if we don't all get down." He said.

Rollan:
Rollan was still carrying the roses. They were wilted now, but he still carried them. His Venom didn't affect them, then again, they were plants. Rollan decided that, if they were hunting, a rabbit might help keep them all fed and strong. He slipped into the grass. Leaving the flowers.

[Cascade]

.::The sun is high in the sky, bearing down hard on the sparsely-shaded plains. Some deer huddle underneath the scant trees, while others drink desperately from the small ponds that dot the region. They notice the wolves right away, but the heat is intense enough to make them hesitant to bolt from the shade right away.::.

Swan frowned at Dancer before he let out a huff. "I don't complain all the time!" he snapped at the she-wolf. But still lowered himself at Mike's demand.

Swan looked out over the plain before he huffed and stood up. "There's no point in hiding they're already looking at us!" Swan grumbled before he began walking towards the deer, though he was giving them a wide birth in an attempt to not spook them away.

"Try to surround them, but don't get too close, just look like we're only passing through." Swan called back. "Watch me when it's time to strike." He added and continued to casually pad across the plain.

She smiled at Swan's frustration. It was cute and funny. At least something in the world could be lighthearted. Oh well. Dancer dipped down from sight as she was ordered to do by Mike, but she was sure her lavender coat still brought attention to their small group. Mike seemed to be a better leader than Swan, but she would never say that out loud. She sighed and got up.

Time to follow more orders that were being barked. She watched Rollan disappear with her flowers but assumed he had a plan when he returned from the bush without them. She trotted slightly faster than Swan originally had started with and slowed to match his pace as she slowed behind him. The way Dancer was about to act was for two completely different reason. Except, she wasn't gonna tell anyone.

Dancer turned her head and licked Swan's cheek in a somewhat loving way. She failed to wait for his reaction and she turned on her heels and trotted back around the deer as if she was fleeing instead of advancing to the other side of them to do her part of the circle. The two reasons were, because she could and frankly, kind of wanted to, and the second, to make her seems less daunting to the deer, if they even recognized it.
