Large, crimson paws pad through the rough, rocky terrain, leaving soft bloody prints in certain partial half-marks. His large, angled cranium swung very slowly, from side to side, looking at the area around him. The bloody beast had caused several quiet murders in the past few months, but his itch for blood was growing stronger and stronger by the day. This land, across the several dozen miles it stretched, seemed teeming with wolven life— and he was yearning to sink his teeth into some of them.
He perched atop a small overhang, nares flaring actively as he took in the variety of scents brimming in the forest below. It was a barren wasteland, that was for sure, but every once in a while a small animal moved and ducked from one hole to the next. Perhaps another beast similar to himself would eventually come out of the wood-work.

Sahandra:
Light, cream-colored paws padded through the Barrens. Sahandra gazed around at the surrounding land-scape. It was tree-less and no plants poked up through the snow. Some would call it ugly, but she'd made herself a promise that word would never fall from her lips. No, to her the Barrens were beautiful. The beautiful rocky out-crops towered around her like sentinels, protecting her, promising peace and safety.
This was the perfect spot to practice her new power.
She gazed down at her new power-mark again, almost proud of it. It was difficult to see since it was so light, it blended in with the rest of the fur on her chest, only vaguely hinting at a light icy blue amidst her cream fur. That and it was small, like a modest charm on a necklace. But it was her power-mark, her responsibility. Her promise to do good, and she needed to practice.
She closed her eyes for a moment, thinking of the lovely late-winter showers she'd used to watch, how they washed away the snow and revealed light, delicate blades of new, green grass. She concentrated on the rain, she concentrated hard and willed for another such shower.
Finally, hesitantly, a light shower came down around her, wetting the crown of her head and tips of her ears. She smiled and lapped at the drops falling around her. Warm and sweet like she remembered. It didn't take long for the exhaustion to come, she hadn't practiced much yet, so it took a lot of energy even for the smallest utilization of her power, but it was a start.
The let the rain cease and she padded on, trying to figure out where to go next. As pretty as the Barrens were, she couldn't stay, there wasn't enough game where she was, she'd head back into the Grasslands soon, maybe head to Lunar Meadow in time to see the Lilies bloom...
A sudden new scent caught her attention and her satellite ears shot forward. The scent was blood, and wolf.
Had someone been hurt? She wasn't sure. She broke out into a gallop toward the scent, if they needed help then she'd be there to give it.

A slight shower seemed to fall off in the distance, though Cesaru's delicate and sensitive nose could barely pick up the scent of water on wolf. It had released the soft, wet scent of sodden dog, and before long, a pitter patter of footprints on the compacted, bland dirt came within earshot. He heard the femme before he saw her, and was able to glide his huge, crimson body around the corner of boulders before she came around the corner, standing directly before him.
He lowered his head, a sly smile creeping across his lips. "Why hello, there." He murmured, his voice a low, dark rumble. Everything about Cesaru screamed evil, bad, and creepy; and she would surely pick up on that, and quite soon.
"What is a pretty little dame like you doing all the way out here?" A faux concern drawling in his voice.

Sahandra:
The scent was growing stronger, and then - she almost sat down as she threw her weight backward to stop. She felt her eyes grow big and her ears clamp down to her skull. The big brute smiled at her, his maw curling into a dangerous, evil smile. She felt the fur on her spine raise and her tail go between her legs. He reeked with blood, not his own she could see now and she felt his eyes creeping and crawling over her, she shuddered.
"What is a pretty little dame like you doing all the way out here?" ..."Dame"? Oooh, she felt a terrible sinking feeling in her stomach and her chest felt tight with fear. Her first instinct was to run but he could easily overtake her, she decided to respond and pray for the best.
"I-I was just on my way to Lunar Meadow," she stammered, feeling her legs slowly working in reverse, edging herself away from the hulking brute that made her blood go cold. "I - um - caught the scent of blood and wondered if you might be hurt..." she felt her heart freeze as she realized no difference was being made and if anything she felt closer to him than earlier, not a feeling she relished.

Cesaru's sea foam green eyes stared down the small femme before him, a creepy, slim smile stretching thin across his lips. She was visibly uncomfortable— ears back, her tail between her legs, and stuttered speech.
"I-I was just on my way to Lunar Meadow," She had managed to stutter out, and he watched as she began taking small, slow steps away from him. "I - um - caught the scent of blood and wondered if you might be hurt..."
A quick chuckle escaped his maw as he threw his head up a bit, before lowering it again, even with his spine, and took a step or two towards her. "Why, your concern is gravely appreciated, my dear." He murmured, staring at her with his bright, pastel green eyes. "However, I am fine." He smirked, giving a small, short laugh. "You, on the other hand, seem a bit... tense." He mused, his tall body easily dominating above hers, awaiting to see if she would flee, and give him a good chase, or if she would stay frozen in spot.

Sahandra:The young she-wolf could feel her slender legs tremble beneath her as his eyes crawled over her. He was reveling in her discomfort, in her fear and it made her shiver and fear all the more. "Tense?" oh no. No, she wasn't tense at all. She was only very nearly paralyzed with fear. She forced herself to continue breathing deeply and calmly, she had to be rational about this, she had to be! "Don't you dare run Sahandra," she warned herself, "He'll overtake you too easily. But I can't stop, I have to keep moving. Just keep it slow and steady." She tried to keep her voice from shaking as she replied. "Forgive me, I'm not used to turning a corner and so unexpectedly running into wolves like this." Her paws were working furiously in reverse, feeling their way up the steep rocky terrain as she slowly started backing away from the brute. It took all her energy not to turn and bolt. Oh she wished she'd been more aggressive! Learned to fight or at least hold her own a little better. But she wasn't aggressive, and she'd have to accept the past. So she slowly, forcing herself to do it ever so slowly and carefully - backed up and away, slowly edging away from the fear-loving demon. OOC:((Hey Vana, would you mind if Rykett joined the action? She was hoping to have one of her wolves rescue Sandy and I think it's great (Cesaru even gives me chills, you roleplay him beautifully ) but it's all your call on if you want someone to challenge him and when you want Sandy's rescuer to jump in.))

ooc// I would love for Rykett to join! The more the merrier! Also, thank you "Forgive me, I'm not used to turning a corner and so unexpectedly running into wolves like this,"Cesaru let another sinister, creepy laugh echo throughout the barren wastelands. "Like this?" he sneered, throwing one curious eyebrow up on his face. "What exactly do you mean, dear?" He hissed through his teeth, beginning to stalk towards her with his long, lumbering gate. She was moving in reverse, feeling her way up the steep rocky terrain, edging away. As she made care to move slowly, his jaws began to click together, and without warning, he lashed out with his steely teeth, gnashing just to the left of her face, hoping to spark a chase. He missed purposefully, only aiming to cause her to panic, and perhaps to run. It had been quite some time since he had been given a good chase.

Sahandra:His laugh sent chills up her spine and she felt everything freeze. Time seemed to slow to an unbearable crawl, she could feel every heartbeat echo as the organ pounded inside her chest and every second seemed like an eternity of its own. Her legs clamped and tensed, she was frozen - she couldn't move. Paralyzed with fear she could only stare at the great hulking brute as he hissed and began to stalk forward. The spell was broken as suddenly as it was cast. As he sneered his next question he snapped his jaw just to the side of her face, feinting for an attack. It was a feint, he wasn't really lunging, she should have stayed put! But the adrenaline flooded her system and before you could blink she'd sprung back to life. She ignored the question and jumped back, this wasn't just a dangerous game of conversation anymore, this was Life or Death. With a shriek of pure horror and terrible fear she leaped away and broke into a dead run. She shouldn't have, instinct screamed for her to remain calm and to stop right then and there, but she couldn't, even the months of careful teaching to survive couldn't stop her. "Stay put! Stand your ground! Never turn your back on your opponent!" All had been drilled into her mind since she was old enough to understand words and yet they had no meaning. Pure emotion of fear took over instinct and training; they prey began her run. Though small and with slightly shorter legs and while she wasn't the best at it, it was in her blood to run, and run she did! Her feet barely touched the ground as she simply tried to get away, to leave the hulking brute, the nightmarish demon behind her, but she couldn't. She knew she wouldn't. She knew he'd be on her heels in seconds if he wasn't already, she was dooming herself with the chase, but what else could she do? Her head wouldn't listen to the screaming warning deep down inside. She was truly afraid of this nightmare, this devil in disguise. Fear urged her to get away, to run, to run like she'd never run before and she did at a pace she'd never known before. It was eating away at her, her fear feeding the demon behind her, it had very nearly taken over. Her head was thrown back for a mere 3 seconds in a howl, a cry, a pleading for help! She could never face this demon on her own and she couldn't escape him for very long. She needed someone else, someone to help her. She could never turn around and come face to face with her fear alone. For she was truly afraid. (( Rykett))

OOC// Hey I was wondering if I could join in on this rp? Mind if I join in with my wolf Wolfi? Also I like the way you guys play your characters. Wolfi:
A dark grey wolf, with thick chest fur, and a broken heart on his right shoulder along with a long jagged scar along his right eye, looked around his green, and blue alight in fury at himself for losing his "prey". He perked his ears as he heard a faint howl. He grumbled as he looked around for his target, he sighed, finally giving up on the chase, he turned to where he had heard the howl. He started to run over to where he had heard it last. His two black front paws thumped on the ground as he jumped over a rock, he looked around his eyes wild. "That had sounded like a female..." He muttered as he looked around. He skidded as he stopped near the edge of a deep dip. He panted nearly out of breath as he looked down seeing a female... and another evil wolf. He flicked his ear, and sat down watching, and waiting. He turned his head seeing and hearing the other young male as he thought. Good... Simone else heard the call for help too, now I can help them out if he runs out of power... Eh. Well I can dream can't I? He finished the thought as he looked around and sighed, he then grumbled as he shifted ever so slightly and got onto all four of his paws. He looked around and cleaned his two front black paws waiting for anything to happen. He licked his brown muzzle and sighed once more now looking bored as his green and blue eyes looked from the young male to the evil kill other wolves for fun. He sighed knowing as who he had to help out.

((Enter Ruko, who has no idea what he's doing XD))
Ruko:
The barrens seemed the perfect place to mull things over. Wide open space instead of the seemingly unending forest, plenty of dust for his cyclones to kick up, and no wolves to disturb his thoughts… scratch that last one. There were multiple scents floating through the air. Ruko sighed. Couldn’t he go anywhere in this valley without running into other wolves? He just wanted to be alone for once. Scowling, Ruko turned away to begin another attempt to find someplace quiet. He froze as a scream pierced the air. His heart sped up just at the sound of the completely terrified noise. His instincts yelled ‘Danger!’ as the cry instilled the same fear of the owner to whoever was nearby.
Ruko listened for further sounds of terror. Sure enough, a howl for help rang in his ears. Ruko could’ve sworn he recognized it. ’Amora? His heart skipped a beat at the thought of his sister. Could she be in trouble? If that was her, she definitely needed his help whether she hated him or not. Rebelling against his instincts to flee, Ruko galloped towards the scents and sounds of the peril with an answering howl.
The she-wolf in danger was certainly not Amora. He should’ve realized that none of scents in the air belonged to his sister. Ruko slowed his pace to survey the situation. A petite wolfess was fleeing from a giant of a brute. Her wide blue eyes flashed in the light, ablaze with panic. Ruko immediately realized that the chase was headed towards his position. They would’ve spotted him by now. The female would definitely search for aid from him, but could Ruko give it? Determination filled his bones as he met the she-wolf’s frightened eyes. He couldn’t just abandon her to face this monster wolf especially after he'd replied to her call for help.
The young wolf’s power mark glow a soft grey as he summoned a cyclone. The dust devil quickly swept up the dust, dirt, and pebbles that coated the barrens. Ruko willed it to spin faster, grow bigger, and look more threatening. Though his powers were still limited to Level 1, Ruko had controlled these tiny tornadoes ever since he was a pup and knew how to skillfully craft a cyclone to his will. ”Get behind me!” he hissed at the she-wolf as she came into range of his voice, then in a louder, braver voice he called to the large male, ”Leave her alone!”

The moment after he feinted to the left of her face, his nares were opened to a few other scents wafting through the air. Two males, within close proximity. As she turned to flee, he, of course, leaped right behind her, his large strides the equivalent of about a stride and a half for her. This chase would be short, but he would let her flee just a bit— after all, the chase was what had him giddy, gleeful almost. A sharp howl broke through the air, and just as he watched her part her mouth to scream, he made one quick effort to smash into her right hand side with his large, crimson left shoulder. Whether he connected or not he was unsure, for before another moment was over, a gust of wind had brought dust into his eyes and spiraled him a bit off track. He circled back about, staring now into the face of a gray brute, wind kicked up in baby cyclones that separated the two from him. A sinister grin crept across Cesaru's maw, his sea-foam green eyes glimmering from amid his dark, blood-colored face. "Leave her alone!"He snorted. "Why, is that all it takes? Psh, why didn't you just say so in the first place, madame?" He paced back and forth slowly, eyeing the new male, and a quick flick of his ear could also tell him that a soft sigh in the distance would be the second male he had scented earlier. "But, for what? I am just beginning to have fun, you see..." He drawled, cocking his head sideways at the two, daring them to move even an inch, his yellowed, glistening fangs poking out from beneath the blood stained lips that could not help but curve themselves into another sinister smile. ooc// I have no problem with more wolves, but let's just make sure we kinda keep a posting order so that no one posts twice before someone else responds next time, please Otherwise, yes! Welcome!

Sahandra:
A reply to her howl rang through the air, clear and promising and in seconds a light-gray male who couldn't have been much older than herself appeared right in her path.
His gleaming golden eyes took in the situation quickly and he hissed for her to get behind him. She needed no second bidding. She dug in her claws and threw her weight back to slow down and she skittered behind him, body low, tail between her legs and ears clamped as the brute came up and approached the only thing between him and his prey. A power-mark on the base of the male's neck began to glow dimly and a miniature cyclone appeared, growing bigger, faster, meaner as the male dared the beast to come any closer.
"Why, is that all it takes? Phs, why didn't you just say so in the first place madame?" the brute sneered and she felt herself cower smaller behind the younger male. The golden eyes narrowed and she could see him getting on his guard, preparing for a confrontation as the brute began to complain about his "fun" being interrupted.
Sahandra could feel herself trembling violently, legs shaking so much that she was sure she'd collapse in a second. Another scent of a male floated on the air but she couldn't have cared less. For now she worried about the demonic wolf, waiting to sink his teeth into her neck and the young rescuer that was standing up to him. She couldn't just abandon him and leave him to maybe die at the paws of this monster, she had to stay. He was risking his life for her, she couldn't just abandon him. Especially now that they were at a stand-still with the monster's sharp, glinting fangs smiling at them, daring them to breathe without his permission.
The seconds slowed and dragged yet again as she waited anxiously, waiting to see who would strike first.

He snarled as he jumped down behind the crazy Wolf. He spread his four paws out in a fighting position growling at him as he said slowly in a threatening tone."You'll get your fill of fighting with 'me' Stranger... So leave the young girl and her 'fancy' rescuer alone..." I'll be fighting you... And they are leaving." He flicked his ear at him. His blue and green eyes alight in a fierce light.
He raised his head as he looked the crazy Wolf in the eyes. He growled a bit more slowly saying something under his breath as he looked at them and motioned to the right a little with his brown muzzle. His ears flicking to the right. He growled a warning to him as he took a step forward his hackles up. His blue, and green eyes narrowed as he looked at the young rescuer. He motioned to the right side again trying to point to a tunnel for them to take.

Ruko:
As the massive brute paced beyond Ruko's cyclone, Ruko was convinced that he was about die. The young male was larger than the average wolf, but beside the attacker dwarfed him. Easily a head taller than Ruko and with powerful muscles rippling in every movement, the violent giant would dominate the approaching battle. Fear pulsed through Ruko as he faced the brute. He was determined not to show it through. His lip was raised in a growl, wrinkling his muzzle menacingly, while his paws were placed wide in preparation for the fight and his muscles tensed.
Another wolf added to the situation. A large male who had a greater chance against the demon than Ruko leaped out of hiding behind the enemy. His words brought Ruko new hope. The young male's golden gaze was fixed on the newcomer, meeting his curious multicolored eyes, and caught the gesture towards a hole in the landscape that could be a tunnel or a deep den. Either would suffice as a temporary method of escaping the peril. As much as Ruko wanted to flee into that hole, he knew he couldn't or risk watching the newcomer be slaughtered by the massive brute. Summoning his courage and focus, Ruko directed his dust devil towards their enormous opponent. He hoped that the dust and pebbles contained in the whirling winds would temporarily blind the brute and perhaps set him off- balanced with the force behind it.
As the dust devil did his bidding, Ruko tilted his head towards the small she-wolf behind him while keeping his eyes on his whirlwind and directed urgent command to her, “Quick! Make a run for that burrow over there! We'll take care of this.“ Ruko hoped she wouldn't argue. He didn't want to watch her get killed in an attempt to aid in a battle she couldn't win. Ruko decided he would try to join her in the safe hole as soon as he'd used his power enough that the fight was in the newcomer's favor.
