Spring had sprung.
Though the valley was far yet from the days of warmth and easy living that the later days of the season provided, the first signs of new life had already begun to crop up, even amongst the heathlands where the Honovi made their home. Patches of snowmelt left new sprouts coming up from the once ice-hardened soil, the first indicators of the change in season. Creatures had also begun to emerge from hibernation, their winter sleep stirred by the promise of warmer winds.
Treason had noticed it as much as any, and she was glad for it. The snow's passing meant a chance to truly reinforce her borders, as well as a much easier time doing what she had intended for a long time coming. She had not, in truth, held a pack meeting in some time - in far too long, as far as she was concerned, and she was determined to make right of it.
The rocky outcrop had been the center of pack meetings before, as it seemed the most logical choice - it had elevation, a clear vantage point over those who would inevitably gather. Yet something drew the russet female away from it, her paws carrying her to the constructed oasis, its frozen-over surface slowly beginning to thaw with the day's surprising warmth. The wind still nipped, but the sun seemed a gentle caress instead of the faraway whisper it had been the past few weeks.
Now was as good a time as any. Treason raised her gaze to the sky, giving the call she had not done since that well-averted clash with Demetrios. "Wolves of the Honovi! Your alpha calls you to gather, that we may share words as one united group. Come, one and all, to the oasis."
