The older wolf's tongue hung from his mouth as he scented the air, lifting his head back to take in the smells carried on the cool breeze. This was it. He wasn't quite to the border yet, but he was very close. He could scent many wolves in the air, an the markers left to keep intruders out. He'd traveled for quite a long time, driven by the urge to find a home. He wasn't ancient by any means, but he wasn't getting any younger, and the prospect of remaining alone until his final breath was a depressing thought. He had many years left ahead of him, and he wanted to spend them among friends, protecting the wolves he would come to love dearly. He'd heard much of this pack by word of mouth, a goo and noble pack, one he would be proud to lend his strength to.

The crude fur cape along his back was tickled by the breeze as he climbed the slope to the border, lifting his nose to breath in the scent, he was definitely here, he could smell so many wolves. So many friends. He hadn't been accepted yet, but he already felt a connection to this place, like coming home after a long journey. He took a moment to compose himself before he drew in a deep breath, letting out a strong, deep howl to request the presence of the wolf that he hoped would become his alpha.

Piala:

The howl rung through the air as Piala loped across the territory. There were many wolves wishing to join Eternal Snowfall in recent times. Though it wasn’t much of surprise since Eternal Snowfall was the only established good pack in the valley currently. Piala had recently met with a wolf who wished to form another pack of the light. Once the new pack’s howls claimed a territory of their own, Piala supposed that Eternal Snowfall’s nearly constant stream of newcomers would slow as some wolves chose to join the newly formed pack.

For now though, there was a wolf at the border of Tranquil Meadows who wished to join her pack. He came into view as Piala approached. The stranger was obviously a male due to his size and build. His scent also testified of the fact. Despite his quite intimidating physique, Piala held her form commanding and dominant as any respecting alphess. She smiled at him, mentally refusing to stereotype him for his size. ”Hello! Welcome to the lands known as Tranquil Meadows. I am Piala the Alphess of Eternal Snowfall, the pack which calls this territory their home. What is your name and what brings you to my border?

His ears pricked forwards as he heard the approaching sound of a wolf, then she came into view. She carried herself with such an air of strength and dignity, he was in no doubt that she was the Alphess of the pack. He'd heard some information about the leader of Eternal Snowfall, but meeting her in person was a much different matter. She was dominant, respectable, a wolf he would be proud to call his Alphess any day. When she approached him, he gave a respectful dip of his head and met her eyes with a kind smile, "Greetings, Alphess, I'm glad I found your borders. My name is Vagabond, I hail from far away, from a pack on the outskirts of the mountain's touch." He paused a moment, before dipping his head in a gesture of submission, "I have heard many promising things about this pack, an I would like to join your ranks. I am a fairly adept fighter." He gave a warm smile, "But I am just as happy watching after pups an elders, if that is where I am needed." He lifted his head a little, "If you will have me, I will give you my all in defense of this pack."

Piala:

Piala listened carefully to his words and watched his expression curve into a smile. The smile’s sincerely struck her and she felt trust begin to blossom within her at his kind and respectful mannerisms. Unlike most newcomers to her border, Vagabond displayed none of the nervousness that came with meeting a wolf who held the fate of others in their paws though Piala rarely turned away visitors who sought a home within Tranquil Meadows.

”I only accept those kind of heart and with pure intentions to join. You seem to fit those requirements and I would be happy to welcome you into this pack. I accept you into Eternal Snowfall,” the alphess met his orange eyes with her own spheres of a similar shade as she accepted him into the pack. She paused for a minute, allowing him to respond before addressing the subject of his role in the pack. ”We don’t have much need for warriors in these peaceful times, but that could change any day. For now, you may find shelter within the copse. I believe the families and elders of the pack will be there. I could show you how to get there if you’d like.”

Vagabond couldn't help a lump of anxious excitement that was settling in his chest, he wasn't nervous, or afraid, but he felt an almost puppy-like eagerness to hear her answer. He knew that this pack had a good track record for accepting new member, but there was always the possibilities of exceptions. Some wolves were wary of him because of his more savage origins, he'd long since shrugged off his past and the more wild pack he'd come from. But the worry was still often there.

However, as she began to speak, his tail couldn't help but to wave in a pleased wag, he was mildly embarrassed by the juvenile reaction, but he couldn't help the happiness that warmed his eyes, dipping his head in thanks when she gave a small pause, "Thank you, my Alphess. I will give all in service of this pack. I'm honored to be able to call myself a member." He wasn't attempting flattery, more speaking plain fact, his real feelings on the matter.

He smiled as he listened to her when she began speaking again, nodding when she finished, "I would take peace over battle, but if the need every arises I'll fight to the last." His eyes lit up when she mentioned the copse, "If you were not previously busy, I would love to be led shown to copse, but if you have other duties, I'm sure I can find my way." He wouldn't are keep the alphess busy if she needed to be somewhere else.
