He was going to take it easy today.
The heather sprouted in purple plumes from the marbled ground below, causing a contrast with the blue sky and making the scene even more dream-like. Here, it was easy. It was easy to relax and it was easy to hunt... If one's nerves were at the edge, one might find themselves here to calm themselves.  
Lacqer, of course, was no stranger to the reeling of thoughts, especially in times such as this.  He was slowing down, and not quite sure what to do about it.  Age was catching up to him - yet, on the inside, he was as young as ever. Alas, he came here to push these thoughts to the back of his mind, if only for a day.  Coming up to a patch of sand, he slowed himself and sat, pressing his paws into the the soft grains below.  A soft breeze found itself moseying along through the flowers and bringing up granules of sand only centimeters into the air, nowhere near the old wolf's face.  This brought along with it the smell of brand new blossoms and summer air, and Lacqer found his worries dissipate and blow away with the wind. At this moment, he would suspect nothing.

Lotus had just entered the valley a few seasons back. And let's just say her first impression of the wolves here were not the best. Assertive and starving. It's not like she could complain as she was both. That was largely due to the fact that she hasn't settled down anyplace yet. Presently, Lotus Regina prince was walking along the sandmoor. It was quiet and rather flat, scrub and leafy plants sprouted and thrived in the sandy soil. She could see for what seemed like miles, her dark green eyes narrowed against the sunlight. However, that changed as a lazy, grey cloud drifted carelessly in front of the fiery orb. The black pelted wolf let her pink tongue loll out as she trotted, glad for the clouds relief. While Lotus enjoyed traveling and took pleasure in the beauty of the world, she wasn't one for physical work. Don't get her wrong though, she was fit and determined, but nevertheless she had a lazy side. The lotus pattern on her sleek pelt glittered as the reflected light from the sand hit it just right. Just them her straining eyes caught sight of another figure a little ways away. Lotus stopped moving, pondering on whether she should announce her presence or slip away unnoticed.

Opening one brown eye, Laqcer glanced at the stranger with a sort of knowing smile growing across his snout, which in turn made his sharp, white teeth more apparent. "Well hello Lass, didn't expect to see anyone around here on this day. Then again, the weather is quite nice, so I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised." The coat of this wolf was adjourned in a pattern of gorgeous flowers, which, he thought, was one of the stranger coats he had seen yet. Not, of course, bad in any respect, but strange, even so. He truly wasn't expecting any company today, and figured it would be only himself in the beautiful, sandy plains, but as there was really no way for him to hide in such a place, he thought he would make his presence known before the wolf in question decided to do the same...

Lotus was about to turn and skirt the area when the older male spoke out to her. Now unable to leave without seeming impolite (heaven forbid!) Lotus approached. "Neither did I." The woman grunted, ears pushed forward in begrudging curiosity. She stood a little ways away from him, her tail loose behind her in a careful, yet unthreatening way. Her paws were placed in a precise way, as to get her away quickly or turn and fight. For there wet three reactions one could have to a threatening situation; fight, flight, or freeze. Presently she didn't feel too threatened. The young shewolf was perfectly capable of defending herself, and this bake didn't seem aggressive. He gave her a smile and she hesitantly smiled back, looking rather forced an uncomfortable. The prairie surrounding her was alive and thrumming. Hummingbirds whisked from vibrant flower to vibrant flower, their iridescent feathers glimmering in the pleasant sun.

Kodiac:
Kodi growled, he had done this a lot recently. He was much different then when he had been younger. As a two year old he was missing a ear, had a scar that ran across his shoulder and looked like it had been really painful. His once muddy brown fur with the crisp white stripe and silver face, now where a dirty color. On the right side of Kodi's face, there was a scar that looked like part of his face had been torn away.

Kodi had a distinct limp, but it didn't seem like it impaired his hunting a lot. He sighed, brown eyes down on the ground. Why had that bear been there? Thank goodness it had been winter when it happened. His family thought he was dead though. That was good for now. He pushed all thoughts of his family from his head. Kodi couldn't see them for a long time. He looked around, and noticed two wolves. Every instinct told him to avoid them, but the giant wolf approached. He was wondering what would happen.

Lacqer could see the the uncomfortable state the flower-print wolf seemed to take on, her stance one of quick reactions, and a her smile seemed as if it was not meant to be there. Lacqer figured this would be her response, or something similar to it, as her expression seemed to be one of weariness when she first spotted him, as far as Lacqer could gauge. Part of him felt bad for his disturbance of her exploration, and in most cases, he would have attempted to slip away unnoticed, but in a place such as this, flat and open, and with legs as weary as his seemed to be at the moment, it would not have been possible. He did, however, figure that it would be less dangerous for him, if this individual was potentially dangerous, to make it known to them that he was aware of their presence. Still smiling, he turned his gaze away, in an attempt to subtly tell the lass in front of him that no offence would be taken if she were to cease conversation and continue on her way.
What Lacqer didn't expect to see when he did this was a large brown wolf coming towards the both of them. Squinting, in order to make out details of the individual, Lacqer saw that the face of the lad seemed almost mutilated. He could not tell, however, if the injury was recent or not.

Lotus noticed the scraggly black wolfs change in position and silent air. He was practically inviting her to leave without another word. And that just made Lotus resolve to stay until both parties were tired of each others company. The flowered shewolf was a stubborn one. She didn't want to seem rude, so she would stay and turn this encounter into a sort of game. A game that became much more interesting when a large wolf slid onto their horizon, plodding ever closer with a dark gleam in his eyes. Yup, this game just got loads more interesting. "So......what brings you two out here on such a lovely day?" The pretty shewolf turned her slim muzzle towards the males, both looking rather sketchy with their scars and unkempt coats. Lotus Regina Prince started the conversation, rather tored of the mountain air being laden with heavy silence.

Kodiac:
Kodi stopped dead, looking with his brown eyes at her green ones. Then he lowered his silver head and showed his white stripe. Then he remembered it was gray now and he felt a flush rise. Unlike most, you could see the flush on his face. His partly gone face. The face where you could see his teeth and part of his eye. The face that was considered by him, the face of a monster. He tucked his tail as he approached, making him seem more friendly but still huge. He had a deformity in his size, making him a huge wolf. All he wanted was to not attack or be attacked. "Hello, my name is Kodiac. It is quite nice to meet you both. Please excuse my appearance, I did not plan on meeting other wolves." He curled his fluffy tail around his paws. Then he turned his head to the side that was normal, and smiled. A nice smile.

"Aye lad, don't worry about anything, you look fine." Lacqer said, confidant in his speech as his low, grovely voice rumbled, and did so as the large wolf approached "Of course," He started before a whisper of a chuckle escaped within his teeth, "I suppose I'm not the best wolf to say such things, though. Ah, but appearances are only superficial. You both seem to have good taste in location - although most locations in this area are gorgeous - so that is one thing I can attribute to you both!" The older wolf tucked his front paws underneath his chest, making himself seem more comfortable... More rooted. He hoped that this action would send the unspoken signal that he was not at all itching to fight. Lacqer had to admit that it was not this large lad who he was worried about, but the woman. When the other male wolf spoke, he was polite, seeming genuine, and smiled at their meeting. The lass, however... Something about her speech, something about the way she held herself... It was obvious that something was rolling around in her head. Lacqer hoped it was not the want to attack, and, he hoped it was not that she was frightened, either.
With a quick glance, the old geezer of a wolf found that there seemed to be a locked gaze between the two younger individuals. Did they know each other, somehow? Or was what he noticed the spark of something between the two? Ah, it was not his business to know, and he re-adjusted his sitting stance, waiting for the conversation to continue.

Lotus flicked her ears towards the scarred wolf treading toward her and the black male. He was friendly, and his name was Kodiac.....well that was straight forward. Lotus didn't want to introduce herself just yet. She didn't quite know hat to make of this situation. She had wanted to tut this into a game of conversation, but alas, she found herself losing, and out of words....perhaps the only thing she could say was her name....."And I'm," The shewolf began with a yawn. "Lotus Regina Prince. Call me lotus and find out how sharp these claws are." The flowered she wolf lifted her paw and gazed at her claws demurely before setting the sharp weapons back to the earth and smiling. If you could even call it that. It was more of a slight smirk really. She hadn't smiled in a long time, not since she left Glo....

Kodiac:
Kodiac nodded, his head still cocked. He was still nervous about that she-wolf. She seemed sharp, and dangerous. He felt like he wanted to shrink away from her. He resisted and bowed, facing her full on. It was a mark of how much he wanted to impress her so she wouldn't kill him that he showed his full face. "Quite nice to meet you Miss Prince. Please, call me Kodi." then he looked back at the older wolf. He lowered his head in a submissive way. "I don't think you said your name? It's okay if you don't want to tell us." His tipped white tail flicked. Then he sat down, and tried for a smile. It didn't work, it was most likely the huge gaping hole in his mouth.
