Renegade:
It had been a decently long trek to the Hunting Plains, but at least they'd been able to travel alongside a water source. Summer was in full swing, blisteringly warm and oppressively muggy that baked the earth and often left its subjects panting somewhere in the shade looking for respite from the clear weather, the water was needed. They'd tentatively moved away from it however to move deeper into the plains where they were more likely to find decent game. Wait...when had he started referring to himself as a part of a group? Interesting how quickly that change had come: but it was not an unpleasant one; he was finally a part of something, the only reason he'd been alone during the past few days was only a quick venture off to scout things out ahead or for some other brief moment of privacy. It had been a pleasant change to have some companionship the past few days. They were not always talkative, the black and the white, but when they did talk at least someone was there willing to listen. The alternating quiet and pleasant company was comforting, renewing. Somehow the dark shadow felt more alive now than he had in a very long time.
Today the sun shone fiercely and plainly down on the earth and you could actually see the heat rise off the horizon. A much appreciated breeze kept everyone from absolutely passing out because of the intense warmth and brought different scents to his nose as for what hid in the endless sea of rippling grasses before him. He turned back to his traveling companion to see that she was still keeping up and near and let her take the lead - this had been her idea after all.

Fierfly Purge: Summer was indeed in full swing. The sun bore down on the sensitive skinned shewolf, nearly burning her to a crisp. The sun was indeed harsh. But she did not want to burden Renegade with her irritation and pain. she would just spend the night in the water to cool down her heated flesh. she could talk it out with him later, as he most likely already new. He was just as observant as she was. As they raced side by side, she stole quick glanced at his running form. Renegade seemed so out of place, an ink blot on a Monet masterpiece. A hole in the fabric of a landscape. But he was much more than what he seemed. He was not a black hole that absorbed and destroyed, No, he was the center piece, the valley framing his black pelt. Renegade was a miracle, a savior of sorts. Her savior. He had followed her through her misadventures, striving to find her before she committed two unthinkable and purely evil and selfish acts. At the time, Purge had believed that what she was doing was for the greater good of the world, that her death, and the death of her sister was going to make the world a safer, and more wholesome place. But it was Purge's efforts to eradicate darkness that had spread the burnt scar of evil across the land.In fact, it was her devotion to an old tradition and selfishness that had caused Volpina to take her turn for the worse. Purge had repented of those sins of hers, and now she was to make amends to the world. And to herself. She had to forgive herself before anything else. then she could be forgiven. Volpina: The bright orange shewolf was asleep among the amber grasses, enjoying the pounding warmth of the sun toasting her pelt. She was in a state of bliss as she lay, currently without a care in the world. She had been free of her white haunter for a few seasons, all though she knew the phantom would catch up to her some day. For now she wouldsleep and dream of the evil crimes she would commit once night came upon the land, veiling it in mists and mystery.

Renegade:
Purge's pace was swift and her stride even - his legs were longer so it took more steps but light-hued paws thrummed the earth in perfect time to keep up and kept the two moving smoothly together. He studied her as he ran and as her ruby pink eyes turned to him. Her pace was good but the smallest wince or determined stretch of the paws made him wonder if she was in pain. What had happened? Part of him wanted to ask, another part decided that Purge could decide when she wanted help - yet he still didn't entirely trust her. Okay, poor wording right there, he trusted her entirely, this was one wolf he did not mind being alone with, he was sure of her, he understood her. She wouldn't hurt him, they were both just looking for the truth. He didn't worry about some ulterior motive or some secret lurking beneath the pure white walls, yet...he worried to a degree. She said she'd forgiven herself, that she wanted to resolve things - he believed her, and at the same time, considering how close she'd come to taking her own life he didn't want to leave her alone for too long. If there was some doubt, some gnawing secret she'd kept hidden from him that she was trying to figure out herself that she thought over too much...he'd keep a close eye on her.
Speaking of keeping a close eye - the white fur gleamed silky and bright in the summer sunlight, a perfect form of velvet white in a see of green and gold. A white sheen, with two vermilion orbs resting in that sheen. The red and white between the blue, gold, green and dusty brown of the earth were somehow perfectly coordinated. The aesthetics of the scene may not really have been as pleasing as he was noticing, but she was somehow his focus. He wasn't just looking out for her because he was worried (although that concern was ever present in his mind, in some lofty corner), nor because he enjoyed her companionship, but because he enjoyed her. They were good friends now - they'd always been come to think of it - minus that little war of snaps and silent warnings in the Ruins and her year of running, but those were beside the point. He wanted her to be happy, he wanted to be there for her. Not just out of concern, but...something...else. He briefly shook his head to clear it, but his resolve firmed, he was going to stick with her, no matter what.
"So what are we looking for?" he kept his voice low in case any prey were nearby, he didn't want to startle them, but he also wanted to know what Mistress Purge was thinking - this had been her idea.

Volpina: volpina woke suddenly, her muscles tensing, green eyes shot. "She's here." The shewolf flicked her ears forward and ran her tongue over her muzzle in anticipation. She was back for more, and this time she was ready. For Geist had given her an errand, a gift even. Weak as it was, she would improve with time. "A fox is in trouble because of it's pelt." She hissed the saying under her breath, sliding into a low crouch, blending into the amber grasses seamlessly. The only detection that one might spot, the only thing that could give her away, was a pale silver glow shifting through the blades and reeds.
Purge: Purge felt strange, she could feel the burning sun in her eyes and on her skin, she could hear their paws thrumming against the earth, the swish of the grasses in the too-hot breeze. The world was right there under her claws. Yet...she felt detached. Something felt off.
Purge ran, keeping her pace, tongue lolling out. Her dark crimson eyes darted about searching for something. What was it? her sister. "My sister. Volpina." they were after her, but not to kill. not. to. kill. They were there to enlighten her. To let her know that she was sorry, and that the prophecy wasn't really about them, and that they didn't have to die.
A subtle throbbing began pounding through her head, a pressure directly in between her eyes that wouldn't go away.It was like the air around her was muggy, closing in, clouding her throat. Purge's eyes went wide, her gait tripping up and she lost sync with Renegade. "Ren-" She couldn't breathe. Her eyes bulged, and she felt like she was going to explode, her throat burning and choking like it was stuffed full of cotton that had been lit on fire. She coughed, trying to rid her airways of the irritant. Purge shook her head, backing away from the sudden cloud of noxious smog that seemed to blend in with the heavy summer air.

His steps slowed slightly at Purge's answer. They were looking for Volpina? But her tone and posture were relaxed, she wasn't after her to kill. This was a wolf who wanted to talk. She wanted to apologize, to explain, to make things right if it was possible. He was still a little sketchy on just what Purge had done and what Volpina had turned into that started this blood feud they had, but it was something about the cursed prophecy that had gotten Purge so turned around and for a time, even bent on taking her life. Bent on taking several lives. Maybe it had something to do with what murders or attempted murders Purge had orchestrated, maybe it was just some incessantly long argument about the whole idea of the prophecy and it's accuracy, but to them it was something important. His steps picked up again, almost seamlessly as he kept pace with his white companion.
Now it was Purge's turn to falter only a few steps later. She ducked her head a little as if struggling against something. Then she threw her head up into the air and her eyes went wide and she chocked out his name. "Ren-" his own vision was blurring and his throat started to close up. He could almost feel the walls of this throat grow thick and clog and the suffocating heat began to close in on its victims. He shepherded Purge away from the area they'd entered and tried to get the both of them to clear air. Then he turned and scanned the area furiously. Suffocating inversion like this was not to be found on such a clear day without a power involved. Someone was out there, someone was trying to hurt them, and whoever it was, he was prepared to bite their head off.
The smog was thick and concealing, but one flash of amber in the green and gold and a quick whiff of a vixen was all he needed. The Shadow alive had a memory to beat all. He never forgot a scent, never forgot a name, never forgot a face and never forgot a fight. "Volpina!" he shouted, he fought with himself for a moment not to let his ruff raise, but the accusatory call still came out in a snarl and he narrowed his icy blue eyes the smog having irritated them until a faint red light of the veins showed and gave a horrific picture with the curved white teeth and death-black coat.

Purge: The white wolf coughed and spluttered, red eyes welling up with contaminated tears. The pain was immense, but she could get through it, especially since she was out of the heavy cloud. She dug her paws into the earth, using herself to cope instead of Renegade. (For he was not yet embedded into her natural instincts.) All whimpering ceased as soon as she heard Renegades accusatory snarl, the sound of that words hissing from his fangs shook off the dust of a quiet rage inside of her, a cold fury that refused to stay dormant forever. She had hated and hunted that name for her entire life, those short years achingly long, all innocence lost and carnal cruelty re imagined. Purge shook her head, freeing herself of the pain, and coming to stand at Renegades side. Apparently Volpina had found them first, and wasn't taking to their presence kindly. A low, guttural growl rose in her throat, ready to release the hidden rage. However, Purge choked it down, flattening her ears to her skull. She was here diplomatically, to offer her half-sister an alternative. "Volpina, the prophecy, its-" the word false wouldn't form in her maw as much as she tried to spit it out. She knew it wasn't how she had interpreted it, in fact it was almost completely false. the oral prophecy had been muddled in meaning to the point of invalidity. She knew she wasn't a plague, she wasn't a curse, she was a blessing....but Volpina....she surely was the curse part. She was the other side of the coin, the dark-hearted one, the true evil. 'the evil i created.'
Volpina: The vixen laughed, not revealing herself as she slunk through the grasses, intelligent green eyes glistening with malice and hatred. "Oh Purge..." came her voice from their left. "Oh, sister." She hissed from their right, circling them silently. "I should really thank you, for making me the way I am." Volpina's voice was beautiful but contaminated with the tell-tale venom of a bitter, broken wolf. Now, she revealed herself, creeping up behind them. "Now, Geist has given me a power, and promoted me to destroy you, and everything you strive for."

Renegade:
Purge choked and fought for breath until she heard him call the name of her half sister. She got back to her feet and joined him so they were shoulder to shoulder. It seemed like she was also fighting the urge to go and bang Volpina on the head for suffocating them, but she forced the low-riding growl back down and flattened her ears, whether out of irritation or out of apology he couldn't say, but Purge was ready for this whole drama to end. "Volpina, the prophecy, it's-" he waited for Purge to finish it, he could think several ways for her to conclude her sentence: Incorrect, Wrong, I misunderstood, We don't have to do this, I'm sorry, White Magic explained, There's another way. But the words never came, it was as though Purge couldn't quite get past the idea of her prophecy. He turned to her, eyes wide in disbelief. Come on Purge! Say it! Say it and let the feud end! But...this was something she'd lived her entire life by, it couldn't be that simple to renounce it and let it go. Volpina knew this, knew that Purge wouldn't let it go and so Volpina refused to let her anger go, hence their current situation.
Her voice came through the smog and he turned his head this way and that trying to pinpoint her location. He hissed his favorite expletive under his breath as she artfully kept herself perfectly hidden in the cloud she'd created. "Oh Purge...Oh sister. I should really thank you, for making me the way I am. Now, Geist has given me a power, and promoted me to destroy you, and everything you strive for." The voice drew nearer and came up behind them and he turned to face the phoenix-hued vixen, putting his long, dark body and curving white fangs between her and Purge. "Stop where you are Volpina," he growled low in his throat. "We just want to talk, he knew he didn't look very convincing with his ruff refusing to lie flat, ears pressed against his skull and eyes a crazy mix of blue and red glaring hatefully into Volpina's intelligent, but devious green eyes. He didn't trust her. She wasn't going to listen to them. He felt his blood began to boil and his claws reach to grind the earth. If a fight came on, he was going to be ready for it.

Volpina: The orange shewolf lifted her head in a haughty laugh, her lips curled in a snide smirk. "What is the prophecy, Purge? A gospel that you so devoutly follow to the words wit?" The vixen batted her eyelashes while speaking in a juvenile, sing-song voice. Purge and her prophecy, come to finally talk it out? Perhaps even rationalize. Was she too weak to finish her deed? And so she had hired a big black bully to vanquish her. "A gospel that drove you to DESTROY EVERYTHING I LOVED!" Much to Volpina's frustration and surprise, violent emotion tore through her, catching her voice, and lighting a terrible fire in her eyes. Purge had ruined her life, killed those she mightv'e had happiness with, ruined any chances for reconciliation long ago. and for turning her heart black, she had to thank her For now she was free! She glared at renegade, likely her sisters lover, and protector. "YOU GET THE CHANCE FOR LOVE AND LIFE! BUT ME? You DESTROYED ME!" Sobs unexpectedly racked the lithe shewolf's body, making her writhe and shake her head, despair and hatred burning in her tormented screams. "And now," Her voice became hushed and her body still. "i'll destroy you."
Purge: "yes....we just want to talk..." Purge's voice shook, but she held her ground as Volpina approached, revealed through the grasses. She stood behind Renegade, frozen by guilt as her half sister spoke. She had destroyed Volpina, turned her to the evil side. ruined any chance she had for a complete life. "VOLPINA! IM SORRY!" Her voice finally burst out in a flow of emotion, an exhausting endeavor to be compared with her White Magic conversion. "The prophecy was cruel, and muddled. It was wrong! I was wrong. I know you can never forgive me....but, please...." She didn't know what she wanted Volpina to do....and she was right anyway...She should be destroyed, to redeem for her sins.

Renegade:
Volpina was out for revenge, that was definite. As Purge sought the words to finish her sentence, Volpina jumped in and began mocking her half-sister: "Oh, the Prophecy, it's a gospel? A law? What is the Prophecy dear Purge?" Renegade felt himself go stiff. He wasn't sure he wanted to be in the middle of whatever came next, he knew what Purge was capable of, and he knew what anger could make possible. These two she-wolves had bad blood between them from a long time, and Volpina wanted to be compensated with some of that blood. He would fight for Purge, that was not the issue, the issue was that he wouldn't kill. Not if there was any other way to solve the situation, but with the green fire in Volpina's eyes, crazed and vengeful, he wasn't sure he'd have the luxury of hesitating.
Volpina began to scream. Purge had taken away everything she'd loved, everything she'd wanted someday, and now Purge had it for herself (he wasn't going to read into that at the moment). Purge was a destroyer, she was going to destroy the white she-wolf. Purge screamed back that she was sorry and began to try to apologize, she couldn't ask for forgiveness, she knew that, but she wanted to try and make things right between them. Renegade looked between the two she-wolves, trying to gauge each of their reactions. Volpina was in pain, her heart was tormented and eyes wild and determined in her course, Purge was struggling with her own emotions, voice tormented and pleading, but it wasn't pleading for mercy, it was pleading for justice. This too worried him, and he stood taller, curving his body and training his eyes and ears to watch and if needs be intercept the two. No one would be destroyed today, not if he had anything to say about it.

Volpina: The shewolf no longer held reason within her mind. No, she was all rage, and pain. The innate fury was quickly rising within her, muddling her sense of judgement as her emotions were unleashed. It would all end here. Either Volpina would die, or Purge would. There was no way to avoid this. Her chances weren't good, nonetheless she threw her body into action. Volpina lunged forward, jaws gaping open, reminiscent of a cobra strike, the viper gong in for the kill. She would've headed straight for Purge, but a big black object was in her way. And soon he would fall under her feet, regarded as less than a mere sparrow, broken under her mighty paw. Purge: Purge saw it happen, her sister lunging towards her, Renegade loyally in her path. And at that moment she knew that she could't stand by like a wounded doe, resigned to death. No, she was in the process of repentance, and she had the right to live. To live by renegade's side. She had come to Volpina to make amends, to make things right. She had banished the notion of murdering her sister, and subjected herself to the justice of the universe. Now, her mind slowed the scene down,, or rather, her mind sped up, her eyes taking on that long lot calculating glint as she strategically maneuvered her way mentally through the oncoming fight. Volpina was fighting on pure, instinct and rage. This would help her immensely, however, this would also tire her out, her energy expenditure immense. Purge had Renegade by her side, and with the help of clear minds, and quick feet, they could escape this fight nearly unscathed. Jumping into action, she leaped past Volpina, glancing out a paw to her side to draw some blood with her claw. Her heavy, white body shooting to the opposite end of the field, where her sister had previously stood. If Renegade caught on, perhaps they could keep this dance going on long enough for Volpina to give up or pass out. (i can mod if Rykett doesn't feel up to it.)

Renegade:
Volpina was not in a forgiving mood. She fairly shook with rage at Purge's insolence to dare suggest repentance or forgiveness. Volpina wanted part in neither, she wanted revenge, she wanted blood. Like a viper strike she lunged for her sister. A swift black paw shot out in her path, aiming to club the open maw. Purge dashed out from behind him and lashed out with a claw to draw first blood in the fight. Well...at least she was willing to fight for it; Volpina was beyond reasoning in her state, all that was left was to fight it out with her, so at least Purge was willing to do that but...a quick flash of the ruby eyes in his direction and that dear, familiar, scheming glint in them conveyed the plan she was formulating better than words ever could have. Renegade reared back, made a tight turn, quick jump and he had gone clean over Volpina and had joined Purge in the game of tag and hide-'n'-seek all in one. Volpina was mad, her rage and instinct primal: she wasn't going to be calculating, she'd just be looking to sink her teeth into the nearest target. If they could keep her running long enough and maybe even draw some blood she'd eventually pass out and they could leave in peace or wait for her to awaken and they could try reasoning with her then, although Renegade wasn't sure if he wanted to deal with Volpina at all after this encounter. Still, he was willing to try; so he flagged slightly away from Purge, turning and bending and weaving a trail through the rippling grass, keeping near enough Purge to spring to her aid should he be needed, but able to turn at a moment's notice to take Volpina far enough away to drain her energy.

.::Renagade’s paw strikes Volpina’s muzzle, but slightly off from where he aimed which allows a couple of Volpina’s teeth to dig into the side of his paw. Purge’s attack solidly hits and she causes a long, but shallow gash along Volpina’s side.::.

Volpina: The vixen hissed as she skidded to a halt, the taste of blood in her mouth, but no relief of flesh under her paws. Her targets had moved. Whirling around, she leaped for Purge, the closest enemy. Barreling forwards she aimed for Purge's leg. Subconsciously she might've been actually thinking. For, if Purge couldn't run their 'dance' would be ending. Purge: Twitched her tail anxiously, she smirked at drawing her sisters blood. The intoxicating bliss of violence clung to her, a friendly ghost from her past. And as Volpina lunged forward, she was nearly persuaded to brawl with her, wrestling one on one. But she no longer had to fight alone. And much less for the joy of blood and the carnal mind. No, she was fighting for freedom. In a way at least. Purge tucked her legs to her body as she practically flew over Volpina's ducked head. She landed behind her, ripping slightly at her sisters heels. Rykett ;F tee hee

Renegade:
A keen-edged fang sank into his paw and he felt the blood seep out. Whirling he fled out into the open field, one eye on Purge, one on Volpina as the mad chase began. The flame-red form leaped and he turned to follow her path. Volpina was headed straight for Purge, head tucking down and aiming for one of the slender legs. Lengthening his stride he veered toward the pair, teeth clenched and bared, ready to snap and break up an assault from Volpina. Purge was one step ahead of both of them, she tucked her legs in close to her body and leaped backward, taking her turn to nip at her sister's heels.
Renegade pushed himself another step or two more, putting on a quick burst of speed to run at Volpina's shoulder and he snapped at her ear. Purge wanted to try and run her down? He could do that. While Volpina couldn't have been too picky about whose blood she drew, her main target was Purge and it was going to be a lot easier to tire her out between the two of them if they could take turns flagging her down and giving her a run, to get her attention off her target though he'd have to make her mad, the best way to do that would be to get in her way, if he bothered her enough she'd leave off of Purge and head for him and if they could keep juggling her attention back and forth then she would eventually tire out. Eventually...
A taunting snarl and another snap at her face and he jumped just out of her reach but kept even at her shoulder. Briefly glancing at Purge he nodded briefly and pushed for more speed again, attempting to take the baton.

.::Volpina’s attack misses completely as Purge’s tucking in of her legs is successful. Volpina stumbles a couple feet, but can pretty easily regain her balance. Renegade slams into her just as she does, however. He is barely able to grab the edge of her ear as Volpina is pushed away by his force. As the momentum of Renegade’s shove continues to push her away, the small portion of her ear gripped by Renegade is torn away.::.
