Topaz: All the trees in the ashwood grove were partially covered in bright red and orange leaves. Most of the leaves had fallen, a sign that winter was not that far ahead. It was certainly a good time to join a pack. By the time winter arrived, Topaz would have a much better chance of survival during the cold harsh conditions of the season, protected by a trustworthy group of wolves. The crisp aroma of other wolves filled the territory as Topaz trotted through the grove of trees, cheerfully searching for some new friends to make. She could never stand to be alone for too long, and it had been quite a while since Topaz was able to socialize. Other loners she had met usually pushed her away, which told her that they probably wanted to be loners for a reason. Now that she was in a pack, she could meet some nice pups like herself. Topaz sniffed around the trees, looking for signs of pups. It was about time she had a playmate.

Helios was not a pup. At least that what he thought. He was a yearling now, and quite the handsome one too, he had gone on his first pack hunt, helping bring down large game alongside Epsilon. He fancied himself a full fledged member of the pack, but he knew he was still viewed as a pup, a trainee at most. The handsome tan, brown and gold he wolf was prancing through the leaves, crunching the colors under his large paws. As he did so, he kept his head up, eyes peeking up through the nearly bare branches to catch a glimpse of the azure sky. the recent winds had driven all clouds from above the valley, turning the sky a robins egg blue, nearly teal. It was quite the beautiful hue. but young Helios could not focus on the sky much longer as he nearly ran into a younger shepup. "Oh, sorry! i wasn't looking where I was going."

Topaz: A handsome beige he-wolf, clearly distracted by the vast sky above, bumped into Topaz. He had a yellow mask across his eyes, and appeared to be around Topaz's age, maybe slightly older. "Oh sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going." Topaz could definitely relate to that. She was the queen of clumsiness. For a while, she thought that perhaps one of her eyes was far sighted, but eventually came to the conclusion that she was just clumsy in general. There was really nothing else to it. "That's okay. I'm Topaz." Was she being too blunt? Nah, in her opinion, you can never really be too blunt. Just get straight to the important stuff. "What's your name? I'm new here." Topaz eagerly wagged her tail, waiting for a response.

"Thank you, i'm Helios. The male looked down of her, surprised to see how much he had grown. He broke eye contact with the shewolf for a moment to settle into a more comfortable stance. She was new, of course, she didn't smell too much like a long-time Secluded Sunrise member. "Did you come alone? The two of them were a bit young to be wandering about without family. but then again, many young wolves were without parents, often bringing bad memories. Helios silently cursed himself for asking a possibly sensitive question after just meeting. "Sorry! you don't have to answer that...if yo don't want to."

Topaz: Helios was larger than her, that was evident, but he was around her age. Topaz considered herself a pup, but she would reach a yearling soon. "That's okay," she said. Helios was a sensitive wolf for acknowledging that his question could stir up some bad memories, which made Topaz think he probably had suffered through his share of heartache. Topaz thought about her answer for a bit. She was getting a little old to keep pretending her parents were still looking for her somewhere, but it was not an embarrassing or personal topic. Topaz was fine with talking to any wolf who wanted to know about her background. "Well, yes. My parents...well I don't really have parents," she said to Helios. "they abandoned me when I was real little I think. I don't remember them." Topaz had never thought about her story as a tragedy. She never knew her parents so it wasn't like she had lost anyone, but now that the topic came up, Topaz realized she was rather lonely. But I'm in a pack now! I have a family......ish.

Helios winced, he had been right, and quite rude. But Topaz insisted that he had done nothing worthy of a fault. She then proceeded to summarize her family-less situation. Helios couldn't relate directly to her as he had been born to loving parents in the pack, but he had seen many wolves come their way with stories beyond tragic. The beige male smiled softly, puffing up his chest as he felt her eyes on him. He knew he was handsome, but unlike many good-looking wolves, he wasn't entirely vain, he was certainly not rude. "I was born here...my parents, Ramone and Tear, are the Gamma's of this pack...I i guess i can't relate too much..." but i can certainly try.he added silently. He didn't know what it was about topaz, but he just felt like he needed to be around her, talk to her.

Topaz: Things got really awkward really quickly. Topaz was ready to change the subject. "So your parents are the gammas? That's pretty cool." She felt bad that Helios felt bad. She didn't need pity. She was fine, now that she was in a pack. She didn't miss her parents. There was no one for her to miss because she had never been really close to anyone before. Maybe that could change now, Topaz thought looking at Helios. He looked ashamed of himself, and Topaz had to admit, it was actually kind of cute. "Look, I'm fine. I don't need pity or anything. I'm fine."

"Eh, it's not as great as you would think, they can be a bit busy." He smiled, moving past his awkwardness and apologies. He was going to apologize for pity-ing her, but moved past that as well. "Soon, ill be given a trainer, you'll get one too!" Helios grew excited as he thought about the future turning towards her with his tongue lolling out, and eyes bright. "I think it'll be Epsilon!" He had big plans for the future, his ambition great, but his kindness kept it in check. He wanted to become a great beta someday, standing loyally for his pack, his family, and his home. Perhaps Topaz might stay with him too!

Topaz: The small she wolf realized that having parents who were gammas might not be as fun as she would think. With so many duties they would spend very little time with their pups. Topaz knew about parents who weren't there better than anyone. What would it be like for Topaz to be in Helios' fur with powerful parents who actually were there for her? Topaz didn't know much about gammas but from what she had heard from showering random loners with questions, they were in charge of all things relating to war. Was the pack Topaz joined at war? She began to get curious about this random pack she was a part of now. It was beginning to become evident that it was neutral, but Topaz knew neither the name of the pack, nor who it was at war with if at all. She wanted to ask more questions, but Helios changed the subject.
"A trainer?" she asked. To train her for what? Hunting? Pack structure? Oh great Power, not fighting in the war! Please not that! "I'm still kind of new here but what do trainers train you for?" she asked subtly. Who would be her trainer? Helios mentioned someone named Epsilon but Topaz knew no one in the pack other than Helios and Blaise. Topaz didn't ask more questions, though. Instead she sat and eagerly waited for a response.

Wow, she really was new to this 'pack' ideology. Helios' jaw dropped slightly, mouth parting in disbelief. She didn't know....anything! Shaking out his surprised expression, Helios responded. "Well, as younger members of the pack, we need to learn alot. So an older and more experienced member teaches how to do their job! It's all very exciting. Knowing that one day we could be leading the pack and teaching the newbies as well!" Helios smiled as he m=imagined himself completely full grown and working beside Blaise as beta. Young Helios couldn't imagine Secluded Sunrise without Blaise in charge, as he didn't fully comprehend the intensity of death. But those lessons would be learned at a later date, he still had time to be joyful and immature.

Topaz: Helios looked surprised by her question. As it turned out, Topaz was not being as subtle as she had hoped. Her first actual friend and she was blowing it! She nodded knowingly, as if to say 'Pshaw! I knew that!' Of course, it was likely that Helios already knew that wasn't true. Topaz would turn a year old this winter, and she would soon receive training as well. It was just striking her how old she actually was. She was not much of a pup anymore. "Cool," she decided to say. Just play it casual. "So, what trainer do you think I might get? I'd like to try and get to know some of the other wolves around here."Topaz ended her sentence with an awkward smile. Without knowing she was doing so, she gazed dreamily into Helios' eyes. Stop it, Topaz! You only like him because he is the first he-wolf your age that you've come into contact with!

Helios stared at her with his big, liquid-honey eyes. He was focusing very hard on the task given him. what Trainer would receive this enjoyable shepup. She was kind, and independent, and intelligent. That was pretty much all Helios could gather from their, quite literal, run-in. "Well, Amora's back, I think you could learn a bunch from the Alphess' daughter. He leaned in now, as if telling a secret. "Who IS my best friend by the way. We are very close. We tell each other everything." He couldn't help but brag about the relationship he thought he had. Surely Amora held him in as high an esteem as she could for the pup. But she certainly did not tell him everything. She rarely told anyone anything.

It was a good thing Helios was oblivious to Topaz's awkwardness around him. She smiled shyly and brushed one paw against the dusty ground gently, dropping her gaze. "The alphess' daughter?" she asked unsure if she had heard him correctly. Her gaze returned to Helios when he mentioned being her best friend. "Wow," she said, eyes wide with disbelief. Then again, as the gamma's son, Helios must have been friends with all the important wolves in the pack. A new respect for this he wolf invaded Topaz, triggering an urge to get to know him better. "Friends with the alphess' daughter. That must be awesome! Do you get any special treatment or anything? What's she like?" Topaz wagged her tail as she interrogated her new friend.

Helios shrugged. "Big, kinda scary. But she's okay I guess. She can be nice if you're nice to her." The hewolf yawned, drawing a paw over his ear. "'Nough about that though. What do you want to do?" The handsome male shook his fur out before settling down. "We could explore, inside or out if the territory." He waggled his eyebrows at her with curiosity. He had only been out on the Pack hunting trip, and had been too preoccupied with running and excitement to even explore a little. Perhaps Topaz would want to explore as well. But then again she had just got here. Perhaps she'd rather relish her newfound security.

Topaz tilted her head slightly. "She sounds more intimidating than Alphess Blaise." She was both eager to meet her, and a little bit nervous. Having her as a trainer may be scary if she did end up being her trainer. Helios quickly changed the subject. "Exploring?!" she asked wagging her tail. No one had ever asked to go exploring with her before. "Of course!" she said enthusiastically. "Inside the territory if that's alright. I wanna get to know it better." Topaz stood up and examined the area around her, eagerly twisting her head side to side. Where to go first? There was so much to see! So much to do!"You can show me some cool places! Or-or we could find new places! You lead the way, Helios!"
