A golden he wolf with a silver anklet padded through the sunbeam meadow, the sound of his paws crunching in the snow broke the quiet peace. There was little snow where he was from, but Saguaro had been to colder places where there was snow all the time, even during the summer. He liked the idea of living somewhere with changing seasons. As much as the sand colored he wolf was ready to settle down in one place, it was nice to be somewhere with rotating scenery so he wouldn't get bored of the same old thing. The trickling of a stream sounded, and Saguaro trotted over to it, surprised it was not frozen. He bent down to sip the cold water. Though it made him shiver, it was still refreshing. This was his home now, and he wouldn't be traveling anymore, at least not for a very long time.

Rayen;
The white striped, forest-green female with the black face was trotting through the snow. The black of hr face had white speckles, and the green of her rump and tail had black speckles. She loved winter—some of her best memories from her nomadic beginning had been in the snow. Some of the worst had been, as well, but Rayen tried not to let those past troubles worry her. She was a new wolf, in a new place, and there was no need to bring the bad from her past (even though she believed that the good far outweighed the bad). Danger was something that came to all loners, and Rayen had roamed for her whole life until coming to the valley.
Today she was exploring the territory of her pack. Everything looked so different under the crust of old snow, with new snow falling on top and further hiding the dips and mounds of the earth below. Her stomach was rumbling that day, and the draw of the wide-open meadow had called her. She was on the lookout for any grouse or arctic hares that happened to cross her path. As she went, a creature much bigger than her sought prey came into her line of sight. She smiled, watching him drink, deciding that seemed like a good idea. She leapt down a bank of snow, sinking down to her elbows, until finally she stopped downstream of him and took a drink of her own, shooting a smile sideways at the stranger.

Saguaro noticed the stranger beside him shooting him a friendly smile. She was a lovely moss green she wolf, and it was nice to receive a warm welcome to his new pack. At first, the golden male hadn't been so sure about Eternal Snowfall. It was the only good pack in the area, so it was Saguaro's only option, not that he had never come across other packs in his travels. He had been presented with several opportunities to join other packs. Good packs that his siblings and friends had joined, but Saguaro had heard rumors of this valley and the magic it held. Curiosity for the strange fairytales he had heard combined with meeting kind, generous wolves helped Saguaro decide that he had made the right decision.
Saguaro smiled back at the natural colored female. "Good afternoon, miss," he said pleasantly. "Eternal Snowfall has an awfully fine territory, don't you think? I'm new here and I'm tryin' to get to know my way around." Saguaro sat down casually, then stood up again when his tail touched the frigid snow. He chuckled at his mistake dryly. "Name's Saguaro,"

Rayen;
Now that she was properly downwind of the male, Rayen could pick up his scent. It was mingled with the smells outside of the valleyâsmells that Rayen knew well. She hadn't been in the packland for very long, and the way he smelled brought back all of the memories anew. He was a traveller, this one. She was sure she smelled the same wayâif not slightly less so from her time here.
"It is a fine territory, and aptly named if this stuff keeps up for long," She added, grinning as he sat up in surprise at the chill of the snow beneath him. "If it isn't too blunt, may I ask where you came from? Your scent, it'sâ" She broke off with a smile, pawing at the water with a white-capped foot. "It reminds me of something."
It reminded her of countless nights spent under the stars, dangerous voyages to get food, blissfull nights spent with pup-loves and old friends. Of loners, of strangers, of new friends. Rayen had lead a full life, with more darkness in it than many other good wolves—and yet here she was. She did not view her past as hard, though many might have. Rayen viewed it as a shaper of who she grew to be. Had she stayed in her pack, who knows what would have happened to her? She didn't regret having been a loner for even a moment.

"Everywhere," Saguaro answered. This she wolf could be smelling a variety of places on Saguaro. Either that, or she had been a traveler herself. "I'm a traveler. Er... I was a traveler." He stared at the vast sky beginning to wonder if this really was the right decision. Saguaro would miss his old life of adventure, but he was ready to settle down and find a mate. He had grown up a traveler, but he wanted his pups to have a pack to grow up in. "It's a daring lifestyle, but it sure was fun. However, I'm ready to settle down. That's why I joined this pack."

Rayen;
Rayen tilted her head to the side. "Everywhere is quite a claim." A smile played around her jaw. "I don't believe I have been everywhere there is to be. At least not yet." She smiled fully, then. She had heard that wolves were free to come and go from their pack land a they wanted, and that had been intriguing to her. A place to call home, but perhaps her horizons hadn't narrowed just yet. There was plenty out of the valley that could still bring adventure; however, it would be dangerous. She no longer had a "pack" of loners around her, and she was now an adult. Claimable, mature, able to give birth. She shivered. It wasn't that she was weak or frightened (in fact, just the opposite), but there was no telling what could happen were she to come across a large group of unfriendly males.
"I, too, have seen my share of lands outside of this valley." Hundreds of memories brought a flash to her eyes that dissappeared quickly. "I've actually been meaning to request an outlier rank within Eternal Snowfall... perhaps a scout?" She blinked softly and smiled. Why was she sharing so much with thsi stranger? Perhaps it was just her way. She always had been friendly.
"I'm Rayen."

She was right. Everywhere sadly was quite a claim. As much as Saguaro had traveled, he had never been everywhere. Not yet. Though he had seen the rest of the world, and he had been to a variety of places. Besides, he always would have his silver anklet as a memento from his old life. It had been all over the world along with him every pawstep of the way. It was like an old friend, and one day Saguaro would pass it down to his future pups.
"A scout would be a fulfilling job with lots of adventure," he said almost longingly. "However, I've had my share of adventure already. I'd like to retire and start a family of my own." Saguaro looked at the female's grin and let one slip himself. She had a contagious smile. That was a very valuable thing and she was lucky to have it. "Although, I've always thought I'd make a good sentry. Protecting my pack and all. I grew up as the protector of my family and my beloved siblings. Most of them joined packs or found mates, and I believe it's time I do the same." Saguaro sighed. "Rayen," he repeated. "What a lovely name."

Rayen;Rayen smiled as he said he'd had his fill of adventure. She didn't think she could ever have her fill of adventure—how could anyone? She shrugged her striped shoulders respectively. "I think starting a family and having pups is a different sort of adventure." It was true. He needn't look at it in any other way. It was a goal and a future that any wolf could be proud of. Rayen shook out the fur of her neck and trotted once in a slow circle, huffing as a snowflake dropped onto her snout. He complimented her name, and she smiled broadly. Many wolves seemed to like her name in the valley. At least it was a conversation-starter. "Thank you," She hummed, before turning to the brush on the side. She had met him, and could now call upon him in future metings. That was an important part of joining a new pack—meeting people. Rayen had always been social, and it was nice to have an excuse to do so. "I'll see you around." She grinned before leaping into the brush. -Exit Rayen- ((I figured you could tag whoever is going to play Saguaro's mate and bring them in ))

((Good idea @spiriaaurina post with Zelda whenever you'd like to. It's fine if you want to wait for her to finish the joining thread with her sis first)) A family certainly would be an adventure for Saguaro. It was nice to think of it that way. This was the end of his travels by no means. Saguaro would travel through a new sort of journey now. This was the beginning of a new life for him. "Well, Miss Rayen, by that logic, anything is an adventure," he said cheerfully. Life was an adventure. A lesson he would surely teach his pups one day. After logging that away in the back of his mind, he politely called "Goodbye for now." What a nice she wolf, he thought. Perhaps a future mate? No, Saguaro was not ready to decide that. He barely knew Rayen. He had to keep his options open and get to know the she wolves of Eternal Snowfall. Patience was key, and something Saguaro knew he was skilled at, so he quietly went back to sipping from the cool stream. He would know the right mate when he met her. It was all a part of the power's plan.

(I'll go ahead and post I'll just say this takes place after they have sucessfully joined)
A green she wolf with pink paws and a golden stripe down her back and tail padded quietly into the media. Her blue eyes glanced around slowly taking in her new home with excitement. Zelda have the slightest wage of her green and yellow tail before she paused seeing another wolf in the area. She had yet to meet all of her packmates and was eager to see who he was. She approached with not much stealth at all. She padded over tail giving a small wag as she came over"hi...there"She said smiling blue eyes bright.

After Rayen left, yet another green she wolf trotted in Saguaro's direction. Apparantly, Eternal Snowfall was a great place to meet potential mates. "Hello," he said in response. He then found himself searching for words to say next in the awkward silence. Saguaro resorted to small talk. "Hope the weather gets warmer soon," He smiled at the female. Her pelt was beautiful against the white snow. Saguaro would make an attempt to get to know her. If he really did think of her as a possibility for a mate, he would need to talk about something a bit deeper than the weather. My backstory? No, not yet. Saguaro was willing to take things at a steady pace, or at least the pace this female wanted to take it. No need to rush. He was sure there were quite a few females in Eternal Snowfall, and if either Rayen or this stranger was not the one for him, Saguaro would wait patiently until he found her.

Zelda smiled some her blue eyes blinked and glistened a bit the Sun shimmered on her green gold and pink pelt. "Hi...I'm Zelda"she responded softly for a moment her tail giving the slightest wag. Her fur stood out horribly in the snow but it never bother her. She took notice of how pretty it was that day. She then blinked as she heard the he wolf speak about the weather"yeah it is beautiful out"she spoke kindly sitting down quietly nearby her green and gold and brown tail curled her tail around her pink paws relaxed for the moment.

Saguaro tilted his head at Zelda. He had said something negative about the weather, and she went and said something positive. Saguaro made a mental note of that. Zelda. Optimistic. That was one of the things he hoped for in a mate. Someone to make him smile on glum days. Saguaro grinned at Zelda. They would get along well together. "I suppose so," he said. "I've always loved snow. I've been to places where it even snows in the summertime." Saguaro loved to talk about his travels. He took pride in his family, and their adventurous lifestyle. Someday, he hoped to tell his pups stories about the places he had been and the wolves he had met. "Name's Saguaro," he said, "It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Zelda."

The optimistic she wolf smiled a bit as she settled down her tail curled around her. She stood out like a site thumb. She smiled though not having a care in the world."really you have I'm sure it was cold but a kind of beautiful scenery"she said ears pricked."what was it like travelling if I may ask I've always traveled with my sister we came from a place where it rained a lot far from here"she said interest sparkling in her blue eyes."it's a pleasure to meet you to Saguaro..."She said tail wagging stirring up the snow.

Casually, Zelda settled down. She had a calm, care-free attitude. "It was frigid, but completely worth the harsh temperature." Saguaro thought back to his exploration with his family, way up north. "Beautiful is right. It may not seem like much at first, but at night, the skies light up with thousands of colors. My dad says they're dancing spirits." No one ever believed Saguaro when he told them about the sky colors, but he remembered them vividly. Hopefully Zelda would believe him, and if not, he might just have to take her there one day. The green she wolf asked what it must have been like traveling. "Both amazing and dangerous." he said. He admired her bright green coat. It reminded him of a place he had been way down south. "I think you might've liked this place I went a while back." What had his father called it again? "It's called a cloud forest because it's so high up, you can touch the clouds. It isn't like the forests here. The trees are huge and curly and draped in latticework of vines and there are birds colored like a rainbow. There are these things called monkeys, and huge cats covered in black spots, and gigantic tortoises that are really hard to eat because of their thick shells, but there are really good fruits to eat instead!" Saguaro sat down next to her on a small rock where there was little snow. He didn't want his tail to freeze off. "But enough about me. Tell me about yourself."
