“Come, come now brother!” Flaming eyes seemed to dance like fire, amusement in his voice as he watched his sulking brother slink three paces behind him. It sounded like a grunt in response, “We’ll find something to eat.” Their last kill was starting to wear off, and hunger clawed at their insides.
“I told you those plains looked decent enough.” Makani’s icy tone trailed to Keahi’s ears that were swiveled as back as they could to listen to his brother. His chest tensed with impatience, keeping his temper even with his brother seemed to be more difficult than with anyone else. Keahi kept silent, swiveling his ears back toward his current path, following up-stream, and hoping to cross animals seeking water. However, it had been raining often, and it did not draw animals like it did in the summer.
“And if you weren’t being so loud.” Keahi muttered, remembering Makani’s voice complaining. After that they were silent, keeping low to the ground, as much as they could with their tall frames.
“Ah-hah!” Keahi said loudly, and saw Makani’s icy teal eyes jerk in his direction, accusing him of hypocrisy. Keahi only smiled, motioning his head in the direction of the pool that was coming closer.
“Well, if there were any food, it was gone the moment you yelled.” Makani’s voice was monotone, bored, perhaps a little annoyed – but Keahi could only hope that he was annoyed, it was hard to tell with Makani. Keahi only smiled, ignoring his jibe and looking down into the pool that reflected the clouds and sky. He moved to a spot where it was shallower and more still – the trees casting shadows on the water to make it easier to see in its depths. Sure enough, “Fish!” Keahi said, quieter, but triumphant. @spiraaurina

It was quiet as a darker she wolf with the brightest markings. She had been lingering around the area. It was one of her many temporary den areas. She hard a den hidden a little bit farther from the pond. She held a hare hanging from her black and green jaws as she headed back to her den. Though she stopped ears pricked as she ears loud voices. Well voice. Tyranny let her blue gaze travel til she spotted the brothers and she flattened her ears for a moment before calming down. She came over slowly"who are you"she said.

Nyx;
The shadows of the trees that were overhanging the stream polarized the water and made it easier for the hunters to see into the depths. There were few fish, but any that were there could be spotted if the wolves seeking them were only patient enough. Nyx watched from a natural shadow, half-engulfed in darkness from an overhanging bluff of grass. The males were bickering—one was blue and the other, red. An interesting pair. Nyx raised her eyebrows as a female came, as well. She bluntly asked who they were, a weighted question to demand of wolves she obviously didn't know. What would Nyx say to that? Who was she? With a dry chuckle, she realized that what was she would be easier to answer. An orange double-ringed tattoo glowed out from the shadow under the bluff, and then suddenly it was no longer under the bluff. It attached itself to Nyx and held her like it was sewn there. Nyx crept down the bank until she was within hailing distance of the males, still quiet, still unnoticed.
The shadows over the water began to ripple in opposition with the current. Nyx smiled. Suddenly, the tree-shadows moved off to the side and hundreds of smaller shadows from the surrounding grass flitted to the water. Some bunched together to form larger shadows, but most stayed small. They mimicked fish and fly movements. It was baiting done masterfully. Nyx let the bigger shadow slide off her shoulders and reveal her head. She bent it, folding it and stretching it out from her shoulders, as if she had dark wings of rolling blackness. She even had the good humor to flap them once or twice—a rarity for Nyx. She let them drag on the ground behind her, as if they truly were attached. The fish had noticed the small shadows over the water by then, and Nyx fixed the male wolves with a dark smile once more. She said nothing, but perched by the edge of the water and stared into the rippling, moving shadows. One particularily big trout seemed taken with a small shadow, and with one giant leap, it went for it. It leaped from the water and its mouth closed upon nothing, but a well-timed bite from Nyx secured it in her jaws. As soon as she had the fish in her mouth, the shadows died and went back to normal, and her tattoo faded to black.
"Fish indeed," Her eyes burned at the three wolves across the water, and she took a bite out of the scaley catch.

“Who are you?”
Both brothers froze at the voice, glanced at each other, and then turned together toward the sound. Keahi had a half smile on his maw, amused by the bluntness of the question. Makani was not amused, more irritated.
“What do you care?” Makani snapped, he turned away from the femora, turning his gaze on the water.
“Don’t mind him, he gets extra grumpy when he’s hungry.” He said with a smile, glancing back at his brother. “Well, I guess he’s always that way actually.” Keahi turned his body back to the femme.
“Though, it is quite the confrontation. Should one not offer information before requesting it? Especially when outnumbered.” He offered simply, innocently enough.
Makani wasn’t listening to the babble behind him, his eyes searching the water for the darting forms of fish, especially the larger ones. Then, the shadows of the water seemed to be contradicting the way the water flowed. It happened so suddenly, he thought it was a trick of the sunlight, but then the shadows shifted again. His heart beat started to quicken and his chest trembled with fear. Fear. Makani did not feel fear. Yet, here was something that was wrong, unnatural. He growled at the water, the shadows, he batted at one with lightening speed, as if he could grab one. His paw swooshed through the shadow and hit the bank of the water with a thud.
“Keahi…” Makani’s voice came through gritted teeth, angry. His blue head swung to look at his brother, when he caught sight of a head… A trick of the light again?
Keahi rolled his eyes and looked over at his brother, but his gaze, too, stopped on the female, with some sort of darkness riding on her back. “What the-“ He started, turning and coming to stand closer to his brother, his reaction surprisingly more cool than his brother’s. His gaze then fell on the water, watching the shapes change, move, like flies, smaller fish, and other shapes… They were eerie, unreal…unreal. It was like a dream. And then a fish jumped – and with ease the wolfess, half hidden in shadows, plucked it out of the air.
Keahi and Makani stared, dumbfounded.
“But…” Keahi noticed a marking on the female, it had been glowing, but now faded. It faded at the same time the shadows all went back to their original owners. She had been the source…”but how?” Keahi had a slight smile on his maw, wanting desperately to be let in on the secret.
“Indeed. Quite the show-off.” Makani’s dry tone hit the air, but his cool gaze held intent interest. His teeth clenched again, eying the fish she was eating with envy, it almost seemed like cheating, unfair, unjust that a wolf should be allowed such an advantage.

The water was one of the only things that made Tolerus feel content in life. He walked with heavy paw steps, tossing his body weight forward as he followed alongside the river. He came up on a bend in the river, spotting three wolves. Red, blue, black and green figures stood within speaking distance from one another. Tolerus furrowed his brow, his dark eyes watching with interest. One wolf, however, stared across the river. Tolerus turned his head to look over the water but saw nothing, or what was that? Tolerus lowered his stomach to lay against the cool surface of the shore, his tail lifeless behind him as his head stretched forward.
Violet-brown fur mixed into the shore's dirt, picking up its scent. Navy eyes looked ahead, squinting at the sight of this shadow looming over the river across from the three wolves. Suddenly, the red and blue wolf were fixated with what could be across the stream. Tolerus was eager to know as well. He sprinted towards them, the marking on his side gave him the illusion to appear more agile than his large body really was. His paws pushed into the Earth as he came up on the black and green wolf. He scented her as female, and the blue and red pair as males. They had a familiar scent, and he calculated them to be close partners or family to on another. Tolerus shifted his indigo-tipped ears backward to lay against his head. His maw parted as he looked where the shadows hung, to see yet another wolf. He raised his ears again, taking a step to stand next to the black and green female as his navy eyes stared ahead at something holding black and orange hues in its pelt.
Tolerus listened with pricked ears as the brothers were just as captivated as he was. How were shadows able to shift around the creature and flood back to it? As if it were to be the shadows' maker? Tolerus barred his teeth as something in his chest burned. Was it desire? Envy? Fear, perhaps? The violet-brown wolf took a daring step toward the two nameless males. He did not hear them address one another, or the female introduce herself to them prior to this strange shadow she-wolf. Whatever Tolerus felt inside himself, he wanted to know what this creature was and if there were more beings like it.

Nyx;
Nyx let an easy, yet somehow sarcastic, smile alight to her face and show off her sharp teeth. She chewed the fish thoughtfully. She wasn't really hungry, but the opportunity had been too easy to pass up. The males from across the water—opposing colours—were staring at her like half-wits. She chuckled out a broken sound, deep within her throat. They must have been new to the valley to be so impressed with low-level shadow manipulation. Nyx made the same sound again, the laugh-like crackling. "Just a curious play of the light—worked out alright for me though, didn't it?" She lied. It was an obvious lie, but Nyx wasn't just going to open up and tell them everything because they stared at her stupidly. What was she, a fount of information? Not likely.
Her fur prickled, then. More eyes were on her. She swung her head quickly to the side. Approaching from a short distance away was another male. He, too, was looking at her with something like excitement glowing in his eyes. Nyx fought not to roll her own eyes. Eager wolves. There was nothing worse than eager wolves. She heaved a sigh, and finished off the trout in her mouth with a quick snap. The female on the other side of the river was staying quiet for the moment, but that didn't mean she knew any more than the males. Nyx was fairly surrounded by children. Pups, even.
With a flop, she sat down, her cool demeanor rolling off of her in waves. The questions were about to come, any minute. She could feel their approach. To try and combat what was surely about to happen anyway, she gave a crisp smile, showing off her uncanny ability to change how she presented herself in the blink of an eye. "I can tell that none of you boys are from around here," She glanced at the single male, then back to the brothers. The female, she was unsure about just then. "What brings you to the Valley?"

“Hmph.” Makani was trying to seem uninterested, but he kept his ears swiveled in their direction, looking into the water at the fish darting in and out of the natural shadows that had returned. However, after the shadow female had made her graceful catch, he felt less inclined to try and catch a fish, as he knew it was not as easy as she had made it look. Still, his hunger had remained, and his bad temper as well. His claws dug into the earth, as if to help him stay grounded and not hurdle himself at the female to steal her catch. While he and his brother were no good, he did have some dignity. His blue green gaze stared intently at the water, as if he could will a fish to jump out of it, but he was not thinking about fish at all. He was listening, and all the time thinking, ‘stupid females, flamboyant, thinking how great they are, stupid, stupid…’
A sound of padding steps diverted his attention momentarily, looking up at the male who was looking across at the mysterious wolfess. It seemed her bait had caught more than the intended prey. He smirked darkly, angry that they were dependent on the female who seemed to relish her non-existent power over them. He did not need to know what cheat she had conjured up and how – he admitted that he wanted to, but he did not need it. His mind started to bleed red with anger, wanting to leave, but tied to the spot, nails digging deeper into the soft shore soil. His gaze was back to staring at the water, not watching the fish.
Her laugh was broken and eery. Keahi watched her with a curiosity, one eye brow raising at the sound and her mocking words. Her tone was not as mocking, but the lie was enough. So… It would be that sort of game. A smirk played at his lips, tail swaying, head held high as he turned his gaze to where the female had suddenly turned. Another was coming bounding into the scene, interest high. Keahi felt confident enough that he was no worried about the male’s proximity, especially as he seemed more interested in the shadow bender – like they all were.
“Just enjoying the new scenery.” Keahi crooned, he matched her tone in the way she had lied to them. Keahi did not forgive easily. He glanced with question at the other wolf who had entered, and in the quick movement, showing that he was not the mouthpiece for all of them, he only spoke for himself and his brother. His gaze sought the other across the water.
“I suppose it is safer for you across the river, avoiding our questions.” He mused aloud. “But forgive me for not introducing ourselves earlier.” He said, pointedly accusing the female of being as rude. “I am Keahi, and this is my brother Makani.” He noticed his brother’s body tense when he mentioned his name. @falconsong

Nyx;
Ah, so it would be tit for tat with these ones then, would it? Nyx felt a sharp smile split her lips, but no warmth accompanied it. Who did these two think they were, anyway? It was clear that they thought her rude (She was, but that was quite unimportant). She shifted her shoulders, but the chilly smile remained. They come into the Valley and have the gall to judge her for not being open with them? Her smile lifted slightly, becoming more sincere for a moment. Oh. If they had gotten offended by her recent conduct, they were certainly in for a delicious treat. She rolled her thin body to an upright position, then slouched to the edge of the water.
"Coming all the way to a new Valley simply to enjoy the scenery?" Her voice hid her emotions well. From the way she spoke and tilted up her words, it would almost sound as if she was bantering playfully with the newcomers; however, on the inside she was sizing them up, seeing if they were worth her time. It wasn't until the more talkative male accused her of staying on the other side of the river for safety that she felt any true reaction at all. She lifted her eyebrows and her black-pitted eyes flashed. "On the contrary—" Before she had even finished the sentence, she had plunged headlong into the water. Nyx knew a thing or two about swimming. She let all the air out of her chest, and with the decreased bounancy she sunk to the bottom of the slow-flowing river. Pushing off the rocks and propelling herself forward, it looked almost like she was running. Quickly, she had made it across the water. On the opposite bank, she slowly walked out of the water. Her eyes stayed open the entire time, and when her head resurfaced, the water clung to her eyeballs as she stared at Keahi. "—I don't swing for safe."
She shook out her fur, unconcerned with getting either brother wet. He introduced themselves, obviously searching for her own name. Nyx usually wouldn't reply to such a prompt, but she was currently trying to play herself off as a different sort of wolf than she was. She shrugged and let her neck loll to one side disjointedly. "I'm Nyx. Pleasure to meet you boys." The words sounded sincere, and only if one had been listening very closely would they have been able to tell that there was no real emotion there. Nyx wasn't trying to pass herself off as completely innocent or agreeable; after all, that would be impossible—but she wasn't stupid, and her true colours were somtimes best kept hidden when outnumbered by males 2:1. She clicked her teeth as she met the other brother's eyes for the first time.

Makani only lifted his eyes at the sound of the splash, but he had hoped it was a fish, rather than the femme’s dark figure that moved like a shadow approaching the other side near them. His cool gaze did not leave her form, glittering like melting ice as she emerged. He smirked, glancing over at Keahi who was smiling and had a smug look on his face.
“Nyx…” Keahi’s voice felt the name out in its short one syllable. Whether it was her real name or not, he liked the sound of it off his mouth and how it hung in the air. He bowed slightly, as he was more traditional and warmer than his brother in his manners. While it could be charming, Makani knew half of it was deceitful, especially for the wolves with soft hearts and emotionally blind that fell for Keahi’s personality. Keahi was ruthless and while he cared, it was all shallow and short sighted.
“I think you and I…” Keahi glanced at his brother as an after thought. “We.. would get along well.” His eyes flashed in the light that trickled in through the leaves and he turned to face Nyx, gaze grazing her feminine frame.
“However, I feel quite unworthy… in the presence of a shadow manipulator, and I with nothing. As much as I love the dark, I do not like…” He drew the word ‘like’ out with long sounds then crushed the word with a sharp ‘kuh’ sound at the end. “….being left in the dark educationally, especially about my surroundings. Obviously there is magic here, if that is what you’d call it. As you seem an expert in this area, won’t you enlighten us?”
Makani’s gaze then fell back to the surface of the water as they started to ask about powers. He did not want to be interested in what the femme – Nyx – had displayed. He did not want to care, and usually he did not, but this was new and unfamiliar. Audits twisted slightly toward them to listen, but kept his eyes on the fish shifting in the shadows of the water.

Nyx;
Keahi bowed to her. Nyx wasn't impressed. Did she really strike these boys (or at least the one) as the type of wolf that had to be bowed to? Even for a female, if the brothers were old fashioned, Nyx barely even made the cut. She certainly wasn't what one would call the traditional female. She flicked her chin back a little bit from Keahi as he bowed, but other than that didn't let her reaction show outwardly. The other brother watched the bowing one silently, though he did not bow, and he did not speak. Nyx could appreciate that. When Keahi said her name, tasted it, tested it, she felt the familiar shiver experienced whenever anybody said her name. The way he said it was different, though. Something in his voice didn't make her want to vomit or tear out her eardrums. It wasn't nice, but it was a nice change. She watched him mutely, unmoving.
"I think you and I—we—would get along well."
The way he said it made Nyx's imagination fire up. Get along? Well for starters, Nyx hadn't 'gotten along' with anybody in recent memory—but something about the way he dragged his eyes across her frame made her think that perhaps he meant a different sort of harmony. He even looked at his brother and included him. Nyx raised her eyebrows. Both? That was not only very assuming, it was rather brave of Keahi to suggest, if he had meant it in the way Nyx suspected he had. She felt a chuckle build up in her throat. One day, perhaps. Nothing would come of it, no, but if they proved evil enough... dark enough so as not to disturb her own grim existance, then perhaps they could get along, to some extent. Nyx had never done such a thing, but she had known the curiosity before. The desire. Her mind flicked back to Fenrir as he stood over the helpless female and toyed with her life. The excitement and pure greed she had felt when looking at him... she tilted her head. Yes, perhaps something like that. "It would certainly be interesting to find out," She said in reply to Keahi's first statement. Her dark eyes flashed. Whenever Nyx toyed with other wolves, if that was indeed what she was currently doing, it was always hard to tell. Though her words may have been spoken at funny, flirtacious or even suggestive moments, there was always the underlying, nagging truth that she was a broken soul. Perhaps when first heard, her conversation-partner would laugh—but then came the hesitation. Had she really meant it in the way they had thought? Or was she playing at a darker, more sinister knowledge?
"We are both souls who appreciate the darkness," Nyx cooed back to him in a voice dangerously close to tenderness. The tattoo on her head flared up bright and orange, and the shadows of the trees bent once more, but this time they flickered and began to spin around the three in a lazy circle, rising up from the ground at some points, spreading across the grass at others. "Magic comes from the valley itself. The mountain," She whispered, glancing toward the mountain that always loomed on the horizon, no matter where a wolf was in the valley. "White Wolves, the deities of our world, grant gifts to wolves they deem as fit.... or they don't." Her tail flicked and she got up, circling the brothers. "The seasons change, and so do the gifts. Water... air," She whispered, leaning close to Keahi. Her jaws almost raked his fur, and she exhaled against him before flitting off again. "Earth," This time she went in to Makani, then back into another slow circle, at odds with the shadows. "Fire..." She smiled sharply, completing another circle then sitting down once more. Her claws kneaded the muddy river-side earth beneath them. "There are other gifts as well, if fire and ice don't suit you." Her eyes raked over the brothers' fur. "... offensive, defensive, physical, mental..."
She stood, and the shadows around them melted back to their original spaces over the water. She hadn't done so much talking in a very long time. Her vocal chords felt odd. She cleared her throat quietly, nodding her head side to side. "We of evil heart and mind travel to the goddess Geist," She said Geist's name softly, almost sensually. "But she can be a fickle friend..."

Manaki’s steel gaze flickered at her cold chuckle. His body did not move, just his eyes betrayed that he was paying attention, but he could not see them if he was not going to move. Pupils moved quickly to in front of him, realizing that he must care to some extent not to look like a fool because his claws were still firmly in the damp shore soil and he had not moved to fish. This was not normal, usually he would not care one way or the other, but perhaps Nyx having such an advantage was unnerving enough. His stomach gnawing with hunger would have to wait.
He wanted to gag after hearing Nyx agreeing with Keahi, but heard the gravely undertone that came with the thought. Still, he did not appreciate the outward gesture of anything in life like his brother did. Especially when the outer tone did not match the undertone.
Keahi was completely ignoring his brother by the time Nyx started to pay attention to him. He relished in it. Whether it was true or false, Keahi did not care. Besides disrespect, he did not mind lies and deceit. He enjoyed life as it was thrown at him, and at the moment he felt a sort of storm brewing. Nyx reminded him of a couple of other dark females, but the only attention the pack brats had given him was scorn and anger. At times falsely sweet, but Nyx appeared to have layers so packed together and so deep, he wondered if she was so capable to maneuver through them all.
Moving his flaming crowned head toward her, he closed his mouth, but his cheeks pulled at a sort of smile. His charcoal gray frame rippled, slender legs taking a small step toward her. He had had the pleasure of satisfying his inner hunger before, but it was usually not with a wolf like Nyx, no, the darker they were, the more difficult it was to catch them. The shadows started to flicker again and he was momentarily distracted from her lithe form. He watched them move and listened to her voice.
He glanced up at the mountain, and… did he imagine it? Or had he felt something stir under his paws, in his chest – something deeper than the intrigue that Nyx had created. It drew him toward the mountain. He took an unconscious step in that direction, but was immediately distracted again. He watched her black and orange frame move around them, no, him. He was oblivious of everyone else, it could have been just him and Nyx for all he cared. His fire gaze met her own blazing gaze that was surrounded by her black face… It enjoyed the feeling of sinking that her countenance gave. She was so close, he could take her quickly – but his reverie was broken as she tore away from his side and approached his brother momentarily. Interest in Nyx immediately left for the moment, giving him time to think properly.
Fire. He was fire, he wanted fire – and if… Geist, could give him more fire….
“You would have been a far more interesting story teller than the one I grew up with.” His tone was jovial, light, and held no sign that he was thinking of his past at all. There was a smirk on his features, his face crinkled with devious delight at this new knowledge that she had given him… them… He glanced over at his brother that was looking coolly at them both.
The moment that the shadows had started to shift, Makani’s lip lifted in a silent snarl. He turned slowly around and sat, staring at Nyx. His chest made an odd trembling sensation, fear – he was not used to that feeling. They would have to do something about it, even if it meant getting a power. Makani was not convinced, but he could tell his brother was. Even as Keahi drooled over the femme, Makani knew that his brother had a one-track mind when it came to advantages. He started to mentally prepare himself for their trip.
What Makani could appreciate, was the truth. The way she spoke about this Geist… like she would worship her. He did not like the idea of a being that had some control over his future, but wondered what sort of a fickle friend she was, if she was a friend at all. He doubted it.
“And why would a powerful goddess like Geist bother with any of us? Why would she care to give us anything?” Makani’s voice cold sarcastic tone was like a touch of winter after Keahi’s voice. ooc/ i apologize in advance for grammar errors, it's late - i'll edit tomorrow xD

Nyx;
The quiet brother didn't like her—she could sense it. Perhaps it was the way his body was so stiff, like ice, or perhaps it was the darkness that came into his eyees when he looked at her; but she was sure. Maybe he was the sort of wolf that didn't like anyone. Either way, Nyx cared not. In fact, the obvious animosity radiating off of him was interesting; or at least, it certainly was not boring. Nyx clicked her sharp teeth absently, letting her eyes flit over and across the icey male's form. He was an interesting one... The other brother, however, seemed much more warm towards her. She allowed herself a half-chuckle, noting that their personalities even matched their fur colours. Cold and firey. She lifted her chin and looked down at Keahi through half-lidded eyes. He wasn't very subtle, that was for sure. She was almost surprised there was no drool hanging from his lips. She supressed a shudder.
Keahi likened her to a story teller then, and this time her shudder could not be contained. While it made her skin crawl to be compared in likness to anything as wholesome as a story teller, it gave her a small measure of satisfaction that she had passed herself off as someone different than her true self. Rarely did she speak as much as she had to the brothers, and more rarely still did she feel the need to hide herself. She was still aware that she was outnumbered, and though she could feel the shadows gaining power within her, she didn't want to offend them badly just yet. "My stories are often short and don't end very well." She rasped, eyeing Keahi darkly. "You may not have grown up at all if it had been me telling you stories." She winked dangerously and even gave the shadow of a smile.
Then she turned her attention to Makani as he spoke. His voice was as much as she had expected—cold, halting. She lifted one sharp eyebrow. He was questioning Geist? If not, he was dangerously close. "To spread evil," She whispered, aware that the sensual note had snuck back into her voice when on the subject of Geist, but unconcerned by it. "In this valley there are three types of wolves. Evil... neutral, and good." She shivered out the last word. "Geist is the strongest of the White Wolves who bless mortals like us with our gifts, if she has a mind to. Why you ask?" Nyx's eyes hardened. "The White Wolves know many things and are not to be questioned. I do not pretend to know the inner workings of Geist's mind. I allow myself guesses, and guesses only. The answer to your question might be, why not? If the good and neutral wolves are getting powered and stronger every day—why not us as well?"
Her orange tail flicked behind her, and her eyes bored into Makani's. It would seem that she had all but forgotten Keahi behind her. This cold-blooded wolf would need to watch that indifference of his around the White Wolf, or he may just lose it all together. She smiled at the thought.

It was an interesting thought that Geist would have to be giving if to allow darkness reign in the valley, as strong as the good and evil. Advantages, Makani glanced purposely at his brother as she talked about gifts, Keahi would surely be interested in any advantages. His eyes widened in mock surprise at the intensity of Nyx’s stare. Though chilling the way she spoke of the great goddess, her dripping evil demeanor was getting predictable. Unpredictable as far as what she could do, but nonetheless, evil. He only nodded in acknowledgement of her thoughts on Geist, if she was all powerful, and all evil, he was certain she was no one to be messed with…. It just did not make total sense that she be so giving to anyone. Makani wouldn’t… He’d target the neutral and good sibling, maybe? Was it possible? There were too many variables and he let his mind meander down dark allies. If Keahi had ever gotten in his way, what would he have done?
“So, we’re leaving now I’m guessing? To the mountain?” Makani growled, turning his face away from both while he rolled his eyes, pretending to glance up toward the mountain range. He had to admit, there was something… eery, and desirous that pulled at him, as if beckoning him. It made his insides tingle. His claws sunk into the muddy earth a little deeper as he tensed, looking back at both of them with a blank gaze.
The comment about the storytelling made him almost smile. He and his brother had almost died anyway, death would have been a welcome choice. But he would have preferred her dark stories than the boring ones of the story teller that had been appointed to them, who had obviously loathed her job.
Keahi watched Nyx bore into his brother with such intensity, it made him wonder that his brother did not inherit a gaping hole where she was staring. His lips lifted in displeasure, that the attention had been moved, and neither seemed to notice. Makani had glanced at him though, at if reading his mind – though he couldn’t be quite sure which part of it. He wanted to know this Geist; he wanted to play with fire, like the fire in the sky. Distantly he had heard of great fires that consumed forests and left nothing in their wake. The corner of his mouth twitched in anticipation and his brother took him out of his reverie.
He smirked at his brother’s discomfort, though not easily read, he could tell he was not fond of Nyx… which was too bad. He glanced over her once more briefly. Maybe another day. He guessed she was not one easily won, evil wolves never were. It was a shame really.
“Yes, yes. It seems there is no time to waste, if we are at such a disadvantage as you make it seem.” His eyes blazed angrily suddenly, hating that he would have to depend on another for a great power to make him any sort of formidable in the valley. He made a sound of displeasure in his throat, but flashed Nyx a smile, moving toward his brother to try and catch her empty gaze once more.
“It was not a pleasure to meet you, but I do hope we meet again in the future, dear.” His chest puffed, but his frame was pulled out of the clearing quickly by his long legs. Makani’s eyes slid over Nyx, his own empty stare following Keahi as his blue stilts pulled him quickly into Keahi’s shadow. -exit Keahi and Makani- ooc// heeey meds, sorry about the wait, thank you for being patient with me!
