Seeking Shelter from the Season (Joining?)

Cobalt;
Cobalt's paws shook as he walked through the trees of the Sequoia Woods territory. Snow, pine needles and half-decomposed leaves dusted the frozen ground. The red-and-blue-eyed wolf hated winter. Sure, the snow was pretty and all, and ice was fun, but winter had always been terrible for Cobalt. When he was younger and still traveled with his mother, winter wasn't so bad. But for the past two years, the brown and white male had always been hungry in the winter. Sure, he had been hungry in other seasons, he wasn't too great at hunting, especially hunting alone, but he was hungry in winter consistently, and cold. Goodness, don't even start on the cold. Cobalt was fine in mildly cold temperatures, but when it was freezing... The short wolf shook his pelt, shivering at both the thought and the very real cold, and the snow gently falling. He always worried that he would freeze to death when he slept.
Enough thinking about the cold, though. He had heard that the Frigid Plague pack resided here, and he wanted to join them. Though the prospect of joining a pack terrified Cobalt, he couldn't live hungry and cold and alone anymore. He needed the support of a pack, maybe even a family someday. So, without giving himself time for further hesitation, Cobalt howled at the border.
