Nyx;
He was a curiosity. Nyx watched him as her own shadow prowled around underneath her, then up the length of her and across her back. She barely even needed to focus on it anymore, so ingrained was it within her conscious. He wasn't frightened or disgusted, but nor was he so enamored with her that he threw himself at her. Nyx had never met the latter, but she had assumed that if he had been anything, it would have been the last one. So this was Valentine.
A player, if Nyx's guesses were correct—and yet unperturbed when a female showed up that he couldn't play. He was still interested to some degree, she could see it in his lime-green eyes, but it was no longer an interest of the flesh, as it had been when he had first met her; at least, she didn't think so. She was familiar with such desires, though it was rare that she felt them or a need to satisfy them. This male would be an acceptable one with whom to satisfy herself though, as was Fenrir, but Nyx felt nothing in that moment. As stated, it was rare for her to feel such things. In any case, Valentine said that she never ceased to amaze him. Her eyes brightened for a moment, a taunt coming to her lips. He had only known her for the space of ten minutes, and was already claiming that his amazement of her would never cease—but she held her tongue, if only because he continued speaking.
When he said that Geist must have been honored to give her a gift, the hay-like fur along Nyx's spine rose. "The honour was all mine, I assure you." There was to be no toying with the topic of Geist. The White Wolf could be watching and listening to their thoughts even at that moment. Nyx wanted no confusion. Geist dealt out death only too easily, though worse, the evil goddess often chose maiming instead. Nyx would hate losing a leg or an eye—she would rather die, and because Geist would know of this desire, surely Nyx would receive the former.
"Though you mentioned other evil wolves," Nyx's fur settled along her back slowly and she finally closed the gap between them. She stopped a few paces from Valentine, though came closer than normal social cues would regularly allow between strangers, for Nyx didn't follow societal norms very often. Now standing closer to him, she saw that he was indeed an attractive male. He had a scar or two, and a mangled ear, but Nyx figured most females would look over (or even enjoy) such details.
"I don't know that others look up to me... but there is a little band of us that travels throughout the land. Un-ordered, of course." She smiled darkly once more. She was, of course, thinking of the unofficial group that she, Fenrir, Sigyn, Bane, and most recently Hailstorme and Mayhem (though they had not been seen recently), had formed. So far, it seemed that they all shared a taste for roaming the land and causing general havoc to keep their boredom at bay; at least, it kept Nyx's boredom at bay. Perhaps they did look up to her. She gave her head a slight shake on the end of her wiry neck, banishing such thoughts. She was no alpha. "We as a group have crippled some, maimed others, planned deaths... and yet we've never added broken hearts to our list."
Perhaps the seemingly fluffy-headed valentine before her could prove useful. It would certainly add a new level of entertainment to the antics...

Valentine;In all honestly, Nyx was half right in her thoughts. He was for sure interested in her personality and her talent, that was a guarantee. But, in a twisted sort of way, her as a female did interest him. Her demonic eyes and honestly overall revolting appearance had a charming effect in the eyes of this male. Some might see her as gross or ugly, but he enjoyed when the appearance of a wolf matched their personality; this she-wolf definitely had that trait. He hadn't really paid much attention to her comment about Geist, but when she began to talk about his mention of other wolves, he got interested. As far as he could tell before she had said anything, there were in fact other wolves that she knew, whether they looked up to her or not. He listened intently as she spoke about a small "pack" of wolves that she had, like a little gang of sorts. She also said of how they had injured many before, but had never really dwindled in the heart-breaking business. That comment caused a toothy smile to form across his face. He sort of side-stepped her, standing next to her with his head turned towards hers. "A little band of misfits? With no breaking of hearts? What a shame. Heart-breaking is quite fun, I must say. Too bad your group doesn't specialize in such antics...though, " his eyes narrowed and he locked his own eyes with hers. "Perhaps your group could use a heart-breaker?"

((Seriously great pics, Calypso!))
Nyx;
A perilously confident, yet alluringly goofy spread across the brute’s face. Even seeing it left a bad taste in Nyx’s mouth, especially when it was directed at her and followed by him turning his head very close to hers. She raised her eyebrows rather scathingly. Could he not turn it off? Then again, perhaps that was the curse of being a heart breaker. Curse, or blessing? In either case, Nyx would not stand for much more flirtation—she doubted her stomach, as empty as it was, would withstand it. She pulled back a little bit from him, though it wasn’t so much an offensive motion as it was a self-preservation tactic. She didn’t want to lose her temper with him. He was still a male, and still dangerous. Her thin shoulders shivered as she allowed a dry, crackling chuckle to break out from her throat.
”I don’t know that we would be opposed to a heart breaker. We’re in the business of breaking things, you see.” Another bone-chilling snicker. Though I can’t speak for the others, I must admit that seeing you tear apart a female’s heart would be most entertaining... and more dark souls are always welcome.” There was that word. Soul. Nyx has been accused of lacking one ever since the darkest night; now, she embraced the darkness and the rumours. Let them talk, Nyx thought, for they might be right.
((Sorry it’s so short, I hope it’s fine. I’m on my phone and in a rush!)

Valentine;
He listened to each crackling word spoken by the she-wolf, if he would even call her a wolf. He honestly felt slightly excited when she began to say that he could- well, she didn't directly say it, but basically said that he could join them. Or at least he hoped that was what that meant.
He had went to say something, but then he heard her comment about seeing him break a heart being amusing. At first he held back a laugh, only a snicker coming from him, but then he did let out a short laugh. He looked at her once again, his eyes for sure not as alluring and flirtatious as they had been when they met. "Ah, yes. At times breaking hearts is quite fun to watch, whether I'm the one doing the breaking or not. But I'm sure I could eventually provide a show for you, " he stated, looking towards the oasis for a moment before looking back to her. "So. This band of evil followers of yours. I'm guessing you don't always run with them, considering I haven't been jumped yet while speaking with you."

Nyx;
Lo and behold, he could turn it off! Suddenly as Valentine looked at her, it was no longer like she was a piece of meat he could devour. Nyx’s coal-like eyes smouldered as she took him in, though not in an alluring way. A laugh ripped from his mouth as she watched him. A curious thing, laughter. So pure, so joyful—something she had never experienced, if she thought on it. Never had she laughed because something was funny or brought her joy. Always, it was spiteful and biting, or to make a point. It was curious. Perhaps some day something would strike her as funny; then again, the idea of Yami tied to a tree by a thorned leash was quite funny to her—but she did not laugh.
”A show?” Nyx repeated. Suddenly, she had a mental image of the group of evil wolves encircling Valentine and a female, forcing him to make her fall in love with him and then ripping her heart from her. Of course, it wouldn’t happen like that. It couldn’t. But figuratively, perhaps... ”We are not opposed to shows.” Another type of wolf might have winked after saying that, but Nyx wasn’t like other wolves.
”And no,” Nyx said, casting her eyes into the shadows of the trees. She blinked and they leapt to her, leaving the underbrush suddenly bare and easy to see into. She shook her head slowly. ”We are not always together; and yet they often appear out of seemingly nowhere.” Her eyes slowly dragged back to Valentine’s form and she smiled. This smile was less crooked and daunting than previous forms of the expression. ”Though for now I think you’re safe...”

Valentine;
What Nyx said pleased him. Another smile formed on his face and he walked forward, going behind Nyx for a moment before turning and facing towards the oasis, standing at the edge of the water. He looked down into the water, seeing a wavy reflection of himself. He glanced over to the side and saw a far-distance reflection of Nyx. Somehow, seeing he and Nyx standing next to each other was appealing, like it was suppose to be that way.
He then turned away and looked towards her rather than into the water. He considered for a second, thinking of what the members of this evil group were like. The thought of Nyx being the little gang leader of a group of evil wolves who loved to kill was a nice image, really. Seeing himself as one of them only added to that thought, making it so much better.
"If that's the case, I look forward to meeting your little dark-souled followers."
(Sorry it's so short! I'm starting to run out of ideas for where this would go.)

((That's ok! I just want Nyx to use her power to fish a bit, but just have Valentine leave after my next post if you like Though I am going to bring Yami in and that might open it up for some more replies.)) Nyx;Valentine walked behind her—never a great idea, but Nyx didn't get aggressive. She merely swiveled so he was kept in her gaze at all times. He walked to the water and looked into it's depths, then back at Nyx. In his eyes was a sort of appreciation that made her skin crawl. It wasn't the same as before, not even close, for now it was the appreciation felt between associates; but still, being held in any sort of regard was not for her. It made her feel too connected to this world, especially because she strived so hard to be apart from it. She had been to the after-life, and though she did not wish herself dead, she knew that that special in-between place was her kingdom. They knew her there, and that was where she felt herself being pulled to at all times. In any case, Valentine had dropped his eyes and the interaction seemed to be over. Nyx accepted that and was about to leave, when she remembered why she had come in the first place. Her stomach gave a fierce growl, and she almost snarled to herself in irritation; however, she supposed if she was hungry, then Yami certainly was, as Nyx had eaten more recently than her slave had. She rolled her eyes so heavily that for a moment all there was was orange. -Enter Yami-Nyx gave a quick nod to Valentine before slouching off into the bush. In a few minutes she reemerged, only this time her mouth was bleeding from a thorned vine she had clamped between her teeth. On the end of the hellish-leash came a small pup. The smaller wolf's pelt was shockingly similar to Nyx's own, a fact that her company had relentlessly pointed out until she agreed to take the thing. Nyx dragged her to the water's edge and dropped the leash. "Stay," She rasped, glancing at Valentine and giving him a sort of smirk. Her tattoo glowed into life, and while the shadows seeped toward her again, this time she broke what she was controlling in two. Half of them stretched until they circled around Yami, never ceasing and always in her face. Yami didn't even whimper, though she hated the shadows and the darkness almost as much as she hated Nyx herself. Her eyes, half-lidded, stayed frozen on the water even as shadows passed over them. The other half of the shadows not surrounding the pup, Nyx then directed to the water. Those shadows broke into still-smaller pieces, and began flitting over the surface like bugs. Nyx's eyes widened as she watched them, dipping in and out of the water in an almost perfect-imitation of a fly. A fish leaped for one and closed its mouth around nothing, and Nyx reeled forward and slashed it out of the water and onto the bank. She towered over the pup. "Eat," She commanded, which the pup did so without a second thought. Nyx slowly brought her eyes back to Valentine. "Hungry? Or were you on your way?"

Valentine;
Nyx had remained relatively quiet for a little while. She acknowledged him, but didn't say much. At one point he thought he heard her stomach growl, but maybe that was just him hearing things. He then glanced over to find that she was walking away. Was she leaving so suddenly? She didn't even say goodbye, he thought for a moment, but found that she quickly returned, but something was different. Her jaws were now bleeding and were clasping a prickly vine, which extended back into the bushes, but weren't slack. He waited for a moment, curious as to what this would be. He then saw a flash of orange and a small pup emerged from the bushes.
His lime green eyes widened for a moment, taking in the pup. The pup's coat reminded him of fire, or maybe the aftermath of one, which the fire-orange pelt and hints of ash-colored markings. The pup even had black and grey eyes. In all honesty, the pup reminded him of Nyx, but he decided not to state so. He merely watched as the two walked up to the bank, the leash dropped and the pup remaining. He saw a smirk go across Nyx's face, which did catch his attention.
"Founder of a band of demons and a slave-owner." He had said it, but it was kind of more towards himself than her. He then watched her begin to use her shadows again, some of them tormenting the small pup while the others hovered above the water. He watched with amusement as she used her tricks to fish out some prey of the water, giving the first fish to the pup and commanding her to eat. He did try to process this for a moment. A mangled, ugly she-wolf who possibly had no soul, no emotions, controlled shadows, and dragged around a small pup on a thorned leash. If someone had described a wolf like this too him before today, he would have said it was impossible. But here she was before him. He had to admit that the little slave she had by her side was a bit much for his tastes, but he had gotten along with Nyx thus-far. He didn't want to risk it.
"I suppose I could eat some fish."

((Right? When Nyx brings Yami out even I am freaked out by her))
Nyx, Yami;
"Founder of a band of demons and a slave-owner."
She clicked her teeth at him once, allowing her little smirk to remain. Ahh yes. She was a wolfess of many tricks. Valentine seemed to speak mostly to himself though, which Nyx took note of. She also noticed that his eyes lingered on the leash that she had fashioned and forced on to Yami. Nyx glanced back at it herself before swatting another fish out of the water, this time towards Valentine himself.
"Oh, don't let the lead upset you," She said, her voice somehow both loud and whisper-quite. She looked back into the water and began waving her head back and forth rhythmically, as if following the fish and her shadows. "It is only until she learns." Nyx cast a fearsome look toward Yami. The pup ate faster, afraid that her meal would be cut short. Nyx turned back to the male. "You see, shadows follow their masters. Shadows do not wander. Shadows do not disobey when it is me that is commanding them." Her eyes widened and she looked back to Yami. "And until this little urchin learns how to be a proper shadow... she gets the thorns."
As Yami bent over the fish to eat, she looked up to Valentine. Her black eyes were a curious thing. As she met the unfamiliar male's eyes, there was no longing reflected there. There was once a time when Yami would have cried out for help and rushed to a potential rescue—but as Nyx had already pointed out, shadows did not wander, and they did not disobey. The pup finished her fish and then sat, back straight, eyes forward.
Nyx bashed a final fish out of the water and snatched it up in her teeth. The shadows around them blended back together and then drifted back to their respective places. "This has not been unpleasant," Nyx said through her mouthful, looking into Valentine's bright eyes. "I trust we will be seeing you again soon for some more fun?" She nodded towards the far bushes, and Yami leapt up as if stung, then bolted in the direction Nyx had indicated.
The orange and black adult turned back to the green male, waiting for a half-breath, to see if he had anything else to add to the encounter. If not, she would make her way back through the trees, like the silent shadows she was so connected to.

Valentine;
All of this had come as a surprise, really. He watched as the fish was thrown out of the water towards him while also seeing the small pup eagerly eating away at her own fish, almost as if any second it would run away from her. He actually found himself pitying the pup for just a moment, but it disappeared as Nyx spoke. While she did so, the pup had locked eyes with him. They seemed so empty, so unforgiving, similar to Nyx's own, but different. In the case of Nyx, her eyes were just empty and may have always been that way. But this little pup. There was a very unlikely chance that she was always this way, and he knew it. But he tried not to think about or look at the pup.
"I truly hope so. I still need to give you that show I promised, " he stated with a smirk, narrowing his eyes. For a moment he watched as the young pup then ran into the bushes. He had then locked eyes with Nyx before she too turned and departed. He had to smile suddenly, a toothy grin appearing on his face as she walked away. He bent his head down and ate his fish quickly, then turning and departing as well.
