Nanouk;
Her ears perked again. What.....what did he say? She was taken aback for a moment, rehearing his words. Becoming her friend wasn't the ending he wanted? Did that mean he...
He then continued to say that if they did want to get to that point, he would have to work up to it. It was completely understandable; he hadn't ever dealt with things like this before. All of this was new to him and was all stuff that he needed...no, wanted, to overcome. At first he may have felt the need to go back to the way he was so that he wouldn't become this way, but now, as far as she could tell, he wanted to change, even the slightest bit. She didn't know if he wanted to do this because of her, for her, because of himself, or for himself, but, no matter what the reason, she was glad that he had chosen her to do so with.
A smile formed on her face and her features that had previously been troubled and confused softened, her regular face that he had first met her with returning, only more happy and genuine. She had thought that her heart would be pounding. But, to her surprise, looking at those navy eyes and the handsome wolf that they belonged to, she felt calm, more calm than she had been nearly this whole time. Similar to the way that he felt peace when she came in contact with him, she found that looking at his eyes did the same thing to her, and she may know the reason why.
Other wolves would look and assume that his eyes are black because of how he always shadows them. The fact that I know what their real color is...it makes me feel special. She then realized something. Her own thoughts that were more for herself gave her something to say to him.
"I don't think grey is you." After she said it, she purposely stayed silent for a few moments, letting him think of her words before she continued. "If anything, you are like your eyes. You appear black: empty, emotionless. But if there was ever that chance that a wolf like me came along, they would see that you do have color, it is just hard to see unless you truly look farther, behind that shell." Her smile slightly became larger, her long tail curling around her paws and touching his own tail.
