Valentine;
The Hillside Vista, a place known for its beauty. A hill overlooking the vast valley, mountains in the distant view, purple flowers blooming across the ground, almost replacing all of the green grass. It was the picturesque place for any wolf. But, at the moment, there was an extra sight to behold.
At the top of the vista lounged a large green figure. It rested on its stomach with its body curved, tail wrapped around its legs and eyes looking forward. At that moment, the handsome male was kind of uninterested, which only happened when he didn't have something, or someone, to entertain him. His eyes looked around him, taking in the area for a moment. He actually hoped that other wolves, mainly females, would know of the large hill and would be drawn there. Of course, it didn't always have to be she-wolves; he could have some fun with just about anyone. He just sighed, rotating his ears so that he could hear behind him.

Brone was bored, not that that was anything new. He was rarely entertained, seeing as most wolves who encountered him usually met their demise. He had never claimed to be the nicest wolf but he also couldn't be called the worst. His dark fur ruffled and he looked at the heather growing around him with searching eyes. He liked the color purple but he didn't care for the flowers themselves. He couldn't say what he was doing here, except stomping around in rage and trampling the heather. He couldn't say and he wasn't sure he wanted to. He was bored and there wasn't anything around besides the blooms to pulverize. Or that's what he had believed at least.
He walked forward and noticed a flash of green among the field of purple. He would have brushed it off as a patch of grass had it not been for the fact that it was breathing. He wasn't dumb and he knew that grass couldn't move so he walked closer. As he grew nearer he noticed the finer details of the wolf he had found. Not knowing for sure what sort of reception he would receive from this stranger he walked slowly towards it. Not that he was afraid of fighting this wolf but rather because he wanted to get a feel of how this wolf would fight. His teeth bared without him realizing and a growl escaped his throat, alerting the wolf to his presence if he wasn't already aware of it.

Valentine;
His thoughts had been correct...for the most part. There was a wolf who had been drawn to the hill in some way or another. A smile formed on his face as he caught the scent of another wolf nearby (mind you he didn't differentiate between male and female). He knew the wolf was close, but decided to allow it to come closer. He instantly began to think of how he would captivate this oncoming "female" when she arrived to him. But his thoughts were crushed as he heard a growl and the scent of what was now clearly a male came to him. His smile disappeared and he quickly turned his head backwards, seeing a black, blue, and red male stalking towards him. The male's teeth were bared and clearly wasn't there for a chat. But no one ever said that Val was smart...
He stood from where he had been laying, his face turned towards the male still, his eyes never leaving him. His jaws almost seemed to form into a smirk. "Greeting a stranger with a growl and bared teeth? My my, how rude you are, " he stated in a somewhat playful manner, sassily flicking his head and his tail. He knew that this encounter may result in a fight between the two, but he didn't really mind. He needed a little bit of action, since he hadn't gotten much of that lately from anyone else.

The wolf seemed disappointed for a second there, but it was quickly replaced by a smirk. Brone thought it looked cocky but couldn't say for sure what made him seem so sure. The wolf wasn't scared of him and Brone was quite okay with that. It made it so much more fun when he bit into them if they weren't cowards. This wolf would provide a distraction from himself for a little while and he didn't mind his tone of reproach. "It's a mighty good thing I'm not much on social graces than." He didn't say anything else, just let his expression mimic that of the other wolf's.
He looked past him for a second, determining that this wolf was indeed alone. He hadn't expected anything different since this wolf seemed as though he would get laughed at by any females, but that was just him. His ears flicked as he listened to the wind, but his eyes remained trained on the green wolf. He watched his movements trying to determine how this wolf would fight and if he really wanted to fight him now. He liked to get to know the wolves he assailed before doing so finding that it helped him ignore their words. This wolf seemed like more of an interesting character than many of them but not by much. Besides that little flash of disappointment, he appeared to be the typical over-confident, above-reproach, condescending evil wolf.

Valentine;
The green male shook his head, the smirk remaining on his face. He looked back at his male with narrowed lime green eyes, his facial expression and the look in his eyes being opposites. The smirk on his face and the perked ears yelled confidence, but his eyes showed pure annoyance. Val had never been overly fond of other males, no matter their alliance, appearance, or personality. Females were much better. They were interesting, varied, confusing, and pretty creatures that offered so much more entertainment that any male could. Plus, many of them could easily be controlled in whatever way you wished, which was what brought them to him. Minus his mistress Nyx, of course. He could never win over her affections, but he didn't mind that.
He watched his male for a moment, figuring out what he was doing. He could tell that he was being assessed. For what, he didn't know. "Regardless of your lack of manners, if you wouldn't mind, I would like to get back to my relaxing. So shoo, pest, " he stated, his last word coming out as more of a growl.

"Actually, I think I do mind. I mind very much." Brone was bored and he had finally found something that would give him something to do, even if it were just for a little while. He had no intention of leaving until he either became tired of this conversation or one of them was dead. The fact that this wolf seemed to think he was in control here was funny, but not unique. Many wolves liked to think they could control their fate, and control him, but they soon found out how wrong that misconception was. He bared his teeth and mimicked the other wolf's growl. It was a weak growl, very weak, but it held a note of annoyance in it, and that made him laugh.
He wondered how much it would take to make this wolf snap. Probably not much, since he doesn't seem able to contain his anger long enough to get out his words. He thought about the ways he could annoy this wolf and came up with a few ideas. Insults are nice, but they get repetitive after a while. I could pretend to be friendly and just do everything I can to get on his last nerve, but it's a little late for that. A noise that sounded like a mumble escaped him and he finally just decided to see how things would play out.

((Don't mind if I drag Goblin into this? Look in my sig to find her profile in my brigade. Sorry I am mobile, so I can't add a link.))
Goblin;
Excited chirping grabbed the attention of the young she-wolf as her head flung up to the branches of the tree she stood under. Her pale yellow eyes flicked about as they tried to spot the location of the chattering sparrows. There seemed to be several of them, or maybe just two that were yelling at each other. Goblin set her bottom down on the hillside as her concentration stayed in the outstretched branches. The leaves whisked about where the birds hopped from twig to twig, and after a little scuffle, one of the arguers fly of with a very unhappy warble. A small frown was displayed on the she-wolf’s maw as she obliged to stand and look out over the valley from the high place she stood. Her gentle gaze followed the departing sparrow bobbing in his flight. Arguments never brought back good memories. Her pack had always argued about different things, and most if the time it was about her. She always cringed at the sound of yelling and angry snarls, but out in the world, arguments seemed to be a natural occurrence, but why. Why did argument have to happen, why couldn't everyone just be treated equal?
Goblin lost sight of the bird and then turned her attention back up the hill where she was headed. The warm summer wind tugged at her soft feathery neck fur as she climbed the slope, but the breeze carried with it the scent of strange wolves. Goblin's ears perked forward when the faint sound of voices drifted past her as well. Her speed increased, and she soon found herself looking at two males, that looked like they were on the verge of argument. A bright green make rested on the hillside with a very annoyed expression on his face, and a dark wolf with peculiar blue and red markings swirling up his legs was standing with an almost aggressive stance. Goblin hadn't really seen such bold colored coats before as she gazed upon them with curiosity. Her interest quickly switched from their fancy pelts, to their conversation at paw that was soon heading south. Maybe she could try stopping it. She would have tried stopping the argument that the birds had been in, but she couldn't speak chirpies. Wolves however, she could communicate with, and her shy step forward was quickly followed by her soft timid voice. ”Um, hello. Please don't fight.”

Valentine;
As far as Val could tell, the male didn't seem to be advancing forward. He was more like assessing the situation, which was a good idea. Regardless, he had interrupted the green male's time to relax. He had began to take a step forward, perhaps to taunt the other male more, only to see movement out of the corner of his eye. He glanced over to find that there was another wolf among them.
So he had been right all along. This hillside really did draw in females. Or perhaps this was just coincidence. Regardless, Valentine didn't mind at all. The female was white with a few multi-colored patches across her coat and a scar down her nose. If he was honest with himself, she was a pretty wolf. Now that didn't mean he was willing to be with her. But maybe....
A smirk formed over his face. The green male shook his pelt, fluffing out his fur. He lifted his head at a slight angle, looking at the female with sparking lime green eyes. "Don't worry, princess. I have no intentions of fighting. Unless this male here decides to ignore your wishes, " he stated, his voice charming and polite before his eyes then turned to the male who had approached, his eyes narrowing.

"We'd never dream of it princess. Your wish is our command." Who did these wolves think they were? The female asks them not to fight when Brone had had no intention of physically engaging the green Casanova until he knew what the wolf was about. Suddenly disgust towards the male filled him and his lip curled in distaste. He was preening for the female, changing his act, because he thought he had a chance with her. If the wolfess was dumb then he might, but any smart female should have laughed in his face at his act. So confident of himself. Maybe I should knock him down a few pegs. But how? Maybe warn his planned target. Although she might not listen to me. Some wolves positively ask for the lot they receive in life.
This wolf seemed to be one of them, approaching two total strangers to ask them not to fight. It would be simple enough to snap her neck, but she was barely out of pup hood, too young to kill be his standards. His tail swished, and he turned his head so he could see her. She was brown and white with a scar across her muzzle. Yes, definitely asking for whatever this green male does.
He would stick around for a few more seconds, and see just how this green 'Romeo' reeled in the female. Once his distaste no longer allowed him to stomach this conversation, he would leave, and the female would either be smart and leave the male alone or she would be dumb and get what she deserved.

Goblin;
Both males had focused their attention on her when she had spoken, this made her shrink back with nervousness. "Don't worry princess." The bright green one had said to her, making her look upon him with quivering eyes, and if she could blush, she would have blushed hard. She couldn't look at his beautiful eyes any longer, her stomach was doing somersaults and her toes were tingling with warmth. Staring at her paws seemed the best way she could handle the situation and all the attention. She had never been called a princess before, was she really that pretty. She glanced at the side of her coat, but the ugly colored spots were still their, staining her beautiful glowing white pelt. How could he think she was a princess, when she was still this ugly?
The second male spoke, and Goblin's head flung forward with a nervous gaze. The second male called her a princess as well, but his tone was less comforting as the green male's. "Oh, um..." Goblin mumbled, she was at a loss of words, why were they calling her a princess, she was no such wolf to match their description. She continued softly, turning away with an embarrassed look in her pale yellow eyes. "I just don't like when wolves fight. Or shed blood." Her last sentence trailed off to a whisper, that the two males may or may not have been able to hear.

Valentine;
His fellow male didn't seem too amused about his calling of the female, but he didn't care. As a matter of fact, this male could be used to his advantage. He glanced over at the female who had locked eyes with him for a moment, but quickly looked down. Perhaps he had already snagged her.
One way to describe what Valentine did, in human words of course, was like a fish being tortured. There was that first moment when a female would get those butterfly feelings, which was the first little hook that caught on the fish. As things progressed and the female developed feelings for her, more hooks would be planted in the fish, but the hooks wouldn't hurt, so the fish assumed that they were something of meaning. Once there were so many hooks that it was unbearable, any pain disappeared for a split moment.....but I'm sure you can guess what happens with those hooks after he is through with the fish.
"I'm afraid most wolves don't think the same." He then looked over at the black and blue male, flicking his ear. "This male approached me with a growl and his teeth bared. If you ask me, he did have the intention of fighting. But just for you..., " the handsome green male approached the female, suddenly turning in front of her and standing between her and the other male, a defensive stance placed. "I won't let him start a fight." In all honesty, at first it may have seemed like Val was just calling her princess to be a flirt. But he now had a look of sincerity on his face. He seemed to legitimately be protecting her. To your surprise, this part actually wasn't a ruse. Valentine really was trying to protect her for the sheer fact that until this male went away, he couldn't try and get to her. If he wanted to try and hook her he could, but this male would only get in the way. He would seriously protect her until the threat of another male went away. After that, then he would get to his normal plan.

Brone looked at the green wolf and laughed at him. The wolf itself wasn't funny, but it's words were. Brone had no doubt that he was truthful when he said that he would protect this wolf. The question was, who would protect him? He also claimed that he wouldn't let Brone start a fight but how was he going to stop him without a fight? "You know, wolf, that there is more than one type of fighting? Maybe I never intended to fight you physically. Maybe I did all that to fool you. Perhaps I planned to exchange a few argumentive words with you then be on my way. But you never considered that possibility, did you? Now I feel it would be a waste to not take you up on your offer. And by the way, how are you going to stop me from fighting without fighting yourself?" Brone would have been plenty happy to be on his merry way and leave the two wolves to their deeds, but now he wanted the male to see sense. He wanted him to realize that he couldn't stop Brone.
He looked at the female the male had so bravely stepped in front of. Really looked at her. She wasn't so bad looking, but he had the feeling that she would fall for any lie tossed her way. Maybe that was just an act or maybe she was exactly what she appeared to be. Either way, he wasn't all that interested in her. She was still a pup in his eyes, too young to fight (mentally or physically), and he had no other reason to interact with his kind. However, the male wanted to be around her, and Brone didn't like the male. The male also wasn't too young to kill or fight with. So Brone would do everything possible to agitate the wolf and maybe it would make him attack first. If not, then he could always make the first move, uncaring about what the female thought. Either way, he would get his fight, and he didn't care whether it was with words or blows.

Goblin;
The small pale she-wolf shuttered at the green male’s words, her thoughts turning to brittle fights and bloody images. Were all wolves so violent in there ways? Goblin shut her eyes for a moment, trying to block out the memories of her old pack that reminded her how much she was worthless. They were mostly peaceful among each other, but terrible to any others, strangers that lost their way in the mountains, or lonely pups that were seeking refuge, they would murder them all. Perfection was their highest standard, and if one wasn’t perfect, they were worth less then the dirt under their paws.
Goblin opened her pale yellow eyes that had grown moist with unshed tears. She glanced at the two wolves, shaking her head slowly. Were these wolves any different? Did they not care for the lesser ones or their feelings, it seemed they didn’t even bother to wonder about each other, only trying to be the higher in this growing argument. Movement from the green male made Goblin stare his way. He explained how the other male had acted, and then proceeded to move his large muscular body in between her and the other male, saying that he would stop the fighting for her. Partially struck by his words, and partially nervous from his approach, Goblin stepped back several strides. Shivering with tense muscles, the she-wolf stared at the green male with wide eyes of wonder. Had he really just stepped in to help her out? Had he just said that he’d make sure the fight didn’t break out just for her sake? No one had ever stood up for her and her insignificant wishes, never. Goblin continued to tremble, but not from fear or uncertainty, she trembled with appreciation and happiness that she had never felt before.
Goblin hardly paid attention to the other male who didn’t seem to be backing down from the idea of fighting quite so easily as the green male, and almost seemed to be trying harder to probe the situation into actually starting a fight despite what her rescuer had said. With wide misty eyes, the small she-wolf watched the situation from behind her handsome green bodyguard, her heart throbbing with the feeling of being worth something to another wolf.

Valentine;
Really, Val was already agitated, as the other male wanted. In his mind he was growling, tired of this male and his attitude. Tired of not being able to begin his first moves because of the male's presence. Tired of this situation. But he didn't show any of this on the outside. On the outside, he remained calm, a small smirk on his face and his eyes narrowed. He heard everything that the male said, but he didn't really seem to react. After what the male said, he turned his head slightly, glancing back at the female. She seemed to be shaking slightly, possibly from fear? Was she really that easily frightened? Well, no matter. That only helped him.
His gaze turned back to the other black and blue male, his eyes narrowing. "I suppose you have a good point. I couldn't stop you in that way. But I have my own ways of dealing with that kind of thing. The lady doesn't wish for us to fight, so I won't. If you believe you have to fight me, for whatever reason, make your move, fool." His smirk disappeared and he slightly shifted, all of his body facing forward towards the male so that he wouldn't get an open opportunity, even if he tried. Valentine knew what he would do if the male attacked. But he had only one main objective: protect the female.

Perhaps the male thought to show his bravery by challenging him. Or perhaps he meant to stake his claim. Brone didn't know what his reasons were, and he didn't really care. "What kind of dunce gives their opponent the first move? A suicidal one." Perhaps he thought that I wouldn't take him up on his offer. Well, he was wrong. Brone walked closer to the green imbecile, stopping right in front of him, and allowed a cold grin to curve his mouth. He cocked his head toward the other wolf and picked up a paw, turning it so that it faced him. He looked at his claws for a second and then grinned wider. He placed his paw on the side of the green male's cheek and flexed his claws, letting the male know that they were there.
"The lady doesn't want us to fight, but what about you?" Brone wasn't asking because he cared, he was asking because he could tell the wolf was agitated through his facade. "You're just seething at me right now, aren't you? So why don't you just stop lying for a second?" He took his hand off the make's face and glanced at it with disgust. He didn't care to touch others when he wasn't trying to kill them. "I could snap your neck right now and continue as if it never happened. Would you really just stand there and let me because you want to impress a female who's in no danger from me? You don't strike me as the type to die without a struggle."
