Avery padded through the trees, a light wind ruffling her thick, sandy-blonde fur. She paused for a moment as she reached the edge of a clearing, large ears twitching warily. It was filled with brilliantly colored wildflowers, set on a backdrop of vivid green grass, still covered in morning dew. Ave lifted her narrow muzzle almost imperceptibly to take in the scents, hot breath making small, wispy clouds in the cool air. She could smell the sweet scent of flowers, as well as the earthy scents of the forest, and possibly the faint traces of another wolf that had passed through previously; but nothing to cause her any alarm. She padded into the clearing, paws brushing against the grass, and felt a smile break out on her face. She'd had a rough couple of days, pushing through the deeper woods, and places like these made it all seem worth it. Once she reached the middle of the clearing, Avery let her long legs collapse out from under her, and she fell in a heap on the soft grass, wiggling around until she was comfortable. Something about this place made her feel so... sleepy. She lay sprawled comfortably out on her side. Ave let out a long breath, her large, gold-flecked eyes wandering around the pretty clearing. Her mind started to wander as well. Avery yawned, despite it still being early morning, enjoying the sense of peace this clearing provided. She knew she would have to get up to hunt soon, but Ave had noticed that there was an abundance of prey in this area, so she wasn't particularly worried about finding food.

A large wolf entered the peaceful clearing panting out of breath his thick furred chest, moving in a fast motion as he caught his breath, as he trotted down the slightly wooden pathway. He shook his head his green, and blue eyes ever so slightly emotionless, as he looked around the broken heart, and shoulder showing as he took a right turn, it also showed the long jagged scar across his right eye. He growled as he smelled the faint scent of another wolf. Possibly female. He thought to himself. He then snorted just now smelling the fresh scent of spring as he groaned in annoyance, not only had he lost his prey he also had lost track of his target also. He sighed as he jumped onto a broken log, and then jumped onto a low hanging tree branch. He laid down along the rough bark watching the female as she slept. He stayed quiet though to be honest he was surprised by her beauty.

Avery felt herself dozing off, lulled into a false sense of security by the beautiful flowers and trilling bird calls. Her chest slowly rose and fall, shifting a piece of grass that lay beside her nose with each quiet breath. Somewhere in her haze of sleepiness, she felt a tinge of uneasiness. Something feels off, she thought vaguely, but she didn’t want to wake up and ruin the peaceful feeling that had come over her. Unable to ignore it, Avery slowly felt herself waking up but didn’t open her eyes, nose twitching almost imperceptibly as she sniffed the air. Someone was there- they were incredibly close to her. Ave was suddenly acutely aware her racing heartbeat thudding in her chest, and she froze up, scarcely daring to breathe.

He tried to hide the chuckled but failed miserably as he sorta laughed out loud. "Haha... Oh please don't flatter yourself sweetheart." He said in a dark chuckle. "Your not on my to kill list..." He said to her darkly. "Besides I don't see as of how I could make myself kill off such a fine young female like yourself." He muttered the last part very quietly as he looked at the sky. His black broken heart on his right shoulder showing along with his long jagged scar showing against his, right eye. His dark grey pelt, and his brown muzzle faintly lighted against the light flickering between the shadow of the tree branches above him. His black tipped tail moving back and forth slowly as he looked around his ears perked. He then turned his blue, and green gaze towards her as he muttered something that she could not quite catch.

Avery’s large ears picked up a short laugh and she felt her heart skip a beat. The laugh was followed by a male voice, and Ave felt a sudden surge of annoyance at the condescending tone he used. She snapped her gold-flecked eyes open, scrambling to her feet, and glared at him fiercely despite her thudding heartbeat. “Don’t patronize me.” She said tightly, feeling a little more confident now that she was on her feet and had full view of the stranger. Ave considered the wolf in the wolf in front of her, immediately noticing the scar on his right eye. He was large and thickly set, with an unusual heart-like marking on his right shoulder. She also noticed that his eyes were differently colored, as he looked in her direction. She perked her ears as he muttered out a string of words that she couldn’t quite decipher, and Ave let out a small, breathy huff. Avery knew she should make an effort to give this wolf a chance; she always managed to see the worst in strangers, which was partly the reason she was so alone. “So, what’s your name?” She said in a softer tone, but her tense stance betrayed her wariness for the stranger. Her large eyes were trained on him, short tail anxiously flicking back and forth behind her as she awaited his response.

wow... She is very pretty. He thought to himself as he saw her Amber, and green speckled eyes. He raises an eyebrow trying not to look amused by what she had said. He chuckled once more then said gruffly, "My name... Is Wolfi." He paused then looked at her as he said. "So... What's your name?" He was tempted to put Sweetheart in there but, Knew better then that. He looked at the ground, then jumped off of the branch landing beside her. He raised his head to its full height now seeming like he was a head taller then her. He tilted his head to the side as he looked her over quickly. He licked his brown muzzle as he looked her over quickly once more. He yawned showing his pure white teeth, that he knew had been tainted by blood over dozens of times.

(( I'm going on a camp so I won't be posting for a couple of days :c ))
Avery nodded subtly as he uttered his name. “I’m Avery,” She answered evenly, eyes still locked onto the male, analyzing his every move. She let out a soft warning growl as he leapt off the branch, landing next to her, and her fur bristled involuntarily at his closeness. She wasn’t used to being in such close proximity to strangers. Ave pinned her ears back, looking up at him as he seemed to size her up. If he decided to attack her, she’d have little chance to defend herself. Her eyes trailed to his neck- if he tried anything she’d have to go straight for it if she was to have any chance of overpowering him. She shook her fur roughly, as if trying to shake off the thought, and took a small step back, eyes returning to his. You can’t think like that, she scolded herself in her head. This was exactly the reason she was so alone; her constant mistrust of others. But, then again, it was this line of thinking that had also saved her on multiple occasions. Unable to think of anything else to say, she glanced away uncomfortably. Her lack of social experience was most likely painfully obvious.

He chuckled lightly now as he looked at her at her very gently, and kindly sensing her uneasiness. He tried to smile only to form a slight smile on his brown muzzle. He blinked as he caught scent of his "prey" "A beautiful name for a beautiful lady..." He muttered lost in thought about her, and his prey, after all... Even an evil guy can dream... Right? He opened his mouth in a wide yawn showing his pure white teeth that had been blood stained for a long time in his past now, now maybe there was not as much blood like there used to be but he still felt like he had too much blood on both his paws and teeth. He lowered his head as he saw his "prey". "I got to go for now... My kind lady." He muttered in her ear as he backed up then said quietly to her. "You never saw me Avery... I'm telling you what is best for you right now. So you never did meet me, or nor did you ever hear of me..." His green and blue eyes looked slightly saddened for a few seconds as he sighed turned around, his ears pinned back as he ran off towards the faint figure of the wolf growling under his breath what he thought had not been loud enough for her to hear. "And I don't want a beautiful lady like yourself getting hurt because of a wvil wolf like me..." The faint figure of the wolf moved as it turned around and ran off, he followed in suit quickly his head bobbing up and down as he took long leaps to the other wolf. ((Ya I won't be having wifi for most of the week either so this may be my last post for a bit. Oh ya Wolfi has seemed to take a liking to Avery. ) He growled as he leaped forward bitting into his targets neck, hearing it snap. He liked his now bloody muzzle clean as he pulled the body into the trees, abd thick bushes then trotted back over to her. He sighed as he rolled around in the flowers not to far from her he sighed in relief now smelling of flowers. He liked his muzzle again cleaning it fully this time as he picks up a budle of flowers. He trotted over to her as he said stuttering a little. "Q-question.. H-has anyone ever told you as of how b-beautiful you are?" He pinned his ears a bit started by what he was feeling, and saying to her as of right then. He shook his head as he placed the pile of flowers by her paws then picked out a daisy, and placed it behind her ear somehow making it stay in place as he muttered in her ear. "It was nice meeting you Avery..." He turned around about to leave but not really wanting to leave. He knew that he really should leave if he wanted her to stay alive, but his heart told him to stay he sighed as he stated to trott off once more, leaving her a bit startled maybe? How could he know anyway she possibly hated him now for killing that wolf practically in front of her. He sighed as he stopped and looked back at her once more then sat down looking at the puddle of water. What am I doing?! I am breaking the oath of the assians!! He thought as he looked at the water only seeing a bloody face, that looked slightly crazed then he saw a brief flash of a kind looking wolf, that was smiling in the reflection of the puddle. "The wolf I could become again..." He muttered as he saw that brief yet reliving flash of the old him. "Could.. She be the key to my old self?" He muttered as he looked back only once more before sighing now watching the sunset.

((I'm back And sorry about how freaking long this post is x'D I guess it makes up for a few days of not posting))Avery’s ears twitched as Wolfi offered a light chuckle, most likely trying to put her more at ease. She gave an appreciative smile, noticing that a subtle smile had formed on his muzzle. When he complimented her, she gave a shy laugh, unsure how to react. Ave had never been told she was beautiful before, and her name was, well… just a word to her. She had never thought of the concept of it being pretty, or of it suiting her. You’re overthinking it, she thought. He was probably just being nice, considering the fact that she was being so awkward. Still, it was pretty sweet of him. As he opened his mouth to yawn, Ave was acutely aware of the reddish stain on his teeth. Was that… blood? She quickly dismissed the thought, resolving that he most likely did a lot of hunting. Avery tensed a little as he came closer, talking quietly in her ear. She nodded understandingly as he backed away, having to admit she was a little disappointed that he was leaving. He’d been so nice to her, and the kindness did not go unnoticed. Suddenly he was talking again, his quiet tone remaining. "You never saw me Avery... I'm telling you what is best for you right now. So you never did meet me, or nor did you ever hear of me..." Avery tilted her head questioningly, searching his eyes and trying to figure out what he meant by that. Why would a wolf have to be so secretive? The sad look in his eyes as he turned around made her feel a twinge, and she opened her mouth to say something but closed it again as he turned around and started to run off. "And I don't want a beautiful lady like yourself getting hurt because of an evil wolf like me..." He called over his shoulder, leaving her to contemplate what that meant. Evil? She thought. He seemed perfectly nice to her... Ave suddenly noticed the presence of another wolf, just as it turned around and started to run away. Her ears picked up very faint growls under Wolfi’s breath as he bounded towards the wolf with long strides. She opened her mouth in shock, wondering what the hell was going on. They ran further into the trees and she loped to the edge of the clearing, barely able to see them anymore. Suddenly she heard a loud growl ring out, followed by the sounds of a scuffle. Her large ears picked up a sudden crack, then a sickening thud. Eyes wide, she leaned against a tree, a wave of nausea passing through her. What the hell? She thought numbly, heart beating quickly. Horrified, she backed into the clearing as he returned, aware of the metallic scent of blood that clung to his fur, despite the fact that he’d licked most of the blood off. She sat down and appeared to study a pretty blue flower as she tried to organize her racing thoughts, careful to place herself at least a few meters away from Wolfi. He’d killed that wolf so quickly, and seemingly with so little remorse. Why had he done it? Was that what he meant when he referred to himself as ‘evil’? Maybe he’d known the wolf, and he’d done it for a good reason. But the way the other wolf had run away made her think otherwise. She looked up as he moved towards her, light brown eyes full of wariness. He was carrying a bundle of flowers. "Q-question.. H-has anyone ever told you as of how b-beautiful you are?" She opened her mouth in shock, a little overwhelmed. “No, they haven’t…” She said in a small, shaky voice, her eyes full of shock at the fact he’d killed a wolf so unceremoniously. Ave couldn’t bring herself to look into his eyes. He’d seemed so… well, sane when she’d talked to him. But how can someone so sane kill another wolf with such a lack of remorse? She looked down and flinched slightly as he placed a flower behind her ear and talked quietly into it. "It was nice meeting you Avery..." Ave swallowed shakily, not replying, only back looking up when he’d turned around and trotted off. She looked at the bundle of flowers by her feet, their sweet smell suddenly making her feel a little sick. She pushed herself up into a standing position, shaking her fur roughly, suddenly feeling a surge of anger. The daisy behind her ear fell to the floor as she broke into a trot, heading in the direction he went into. She stopped when she was a few feet away from him. He was sitting at a puddle nearby, looking off into the sunset. He probably wasn’t aware that she’d followed him. “Why did you kill that wolf?” She said, surprised by the steadiness of her voice, considering what she was feeling. Despite the calmness of her tone, the anger and hurt was evident in her gold-flecked eyes as she looked at him, waiting for the reply.

His blue and green eyes darkened a little as he sighed, his ears pinned back. He got up as he said quietly to her. "It's my job.." He trotted away from her slowly at a lumbering gait, his tail near the ground. His shoulders seemed to sag as he walked away from her, sighing he speed his lumbeing gait up a little now. He growled knowing that he had done it now. She would possibly get killed because of him. He sighed as he sat the edge of the flowery feild seeing a puddle by his paws once more seeing he faint but fleeting image of his old self. He growled as he saw thr image of the evil slightly crazed him, and he slashed the puddle with his front black paw as he growled to her stuttering a little bit. "J-just stay away from me..." He finished with a sigh as he kept his blue and green gaze away from hers. His eyes hiding the pain, sadness, and guilt in them. He turned away from her still watching the sunset as he tried to suppress the howl of regret that was forming in his throat. He gulped as he sighed and kept his blue and green gaze away from her pretty eyes that were fill with, shock, hurt, pain, and anger... Anger at him... He sighed as he muttered. "I better take my leave... For it seems I am not wanted here..." He rose up once more looking her in the eyes as he said very quietly to her. "Believe it or not... You actually helped me realize something Avery..." He sighed as he muttered something else and walked away slowly his shoulders sagging and his black tail tip dragging on the ground as he walked as away from her. "I can't have a family... For they would get hurt." He muttered his voice growing hoarse as he walked away his green and blue eyes watering slightly. "T-they would die... All because of me..." He turned around looking her in the eyes once mkeenasnhe said to her very faintly so she could barely hear it. "You are very beautiful, Avery... And I mean it, from the very bottom of what is left of my heart..." He turned around and started to run off towards the woods he stumbled and fell nose first into the dirt. He growled as he pushed himself back up, and started to do his lumbering gait once more quickly. His black tipped tail still hanging low to the ground.

“It’s my job…” The male said the words, possibly with some… regret? Resentment, even? Avery tried to keep the anger set in her face as he trotted away from her, but the way his shoulders seemed to sag down as he walked, as if they were held down by some invisible emotional weight, made Ave feel a twinge that made her anger cave in on itself. She padded a little closer to him, watching as he studied his reflection for a moment in a puddle then lashed out at it with a growl. Avery flinched and stopped approaching him as he gave her a warning growl, her ears flicking backwards to flatten against her skull. “J-just stay away from me…” She didn’t move away, just quietly watched him. He seemed to be making a conscious effort to avoid her eyes. Avery watched as he muttered quietly about leaving, and then rose to his paws. He finally met her gaze with his blue and green eyes and spoke, his bitter tone making her feel a little lump in her throat. "Believe it or not... You actually helped me realize something, Avery..." He broke his gaze with her and began slowly walking away. Avery studied the ground for a moment before looking back up. “I can’t have a family… For they would only get hurt.” Avery realized his voice was becoming hoarse, as if he was barely keeping from breaking down and crying. “T-they would die… All because of me…” She felt conflicting emotions overcome her, because part of her wanted to glare at him and say “Well, maybe you don’t deserve to have a family, if it’s your job to be a remorseless killer…” but another part of her wanted to comfort him. The way he seemed to resent himself was tragic to her, and she began to reason that he was maybe forced to adopt that kind of lifestyle. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right? The pain in his eyes was evident as he turned back around, speaking in a faint voice. “You are very beautiful, Avery… And I mean it, from the very bottom of what is left of my heart…” She didn’t register the compliment, just had a sad, sinking feeling at the implications of his words. It basically meant ‘goodbye,’ in the saddest way possible. And though he was just a stranger, who she’d literally seen kill another wolf, she couldn’t help feeling guilty about the fact that, in the end, all she’d really given this wolf was the realization that he was unfit to ever have a family of his own. And that realization, of her own actions, left her with a feeling that made her stomach go sour, no matter how evil of a wolf he was. With that statement, he turned around and started to run. “Wait!” Avery yipped urgently. She took a step forward, eyes flickering with concern as he stumbled into the dirt and pushed himself back up with a growl, before continuing towards the shelter of the forest. Ave would have to speak quickly if she wanted to catch him before he disappeared completely. She took a few small, quick paw-steps forward. “If it’s your job, why don’t you just quit?” She yelled, ears pricked forward, hoping he didn’t completely ignore her.

He stopped hearing her say that. He sighed as he muttered something under his breath. He turned around once more as he said quietly. "Even if I wanted to... I can't. I've tired and tired... And it never works." He felt his ears pinning back, he didn't want her to get hurt so why did she keep getting so nosey? If she continued on like this then another wolf would come after he left her alone and then she would be killed by the other wolf that is apart of the,the league of assians. Shighing he muttered something under his breathe. "I'm a part of a group... That is all that I am going to say..." He paused as he looked at her then said. "I better be leaving about now... Or sleeping now..." He muttered the last part quietly. He turned his head and started to trott off again this time his shoulders seemed to have a small sagg but not a big one. His blue and green gaze were emotionless once again as he started to trott off faster... As he continued to trott away from his last hope.... His last hope of finding his old self again.... And he was possibly even leaving the fact that he could be his old self again.... His ears pinned back as he sat near the woods now, not entirely in them, but close to the border of them. He sighed as he looked back, he knew that if anything he should kill her, himself so that she could die quickly without being tortured by the other wolf. Yet... He couldn't bring himself to kill her off himself. He just... Kept wanting her, wanting her to understand his pain... He wanted her... He wanted her sweet smile, her kind yet alluring eyes. He wanted her... And he couldn't have her.... A faint memory rang through his head as he remembered the scream of pain and terror coming from his old mates voice as she was killed slowly in front of his very eyes. He shook his head and laid down in the flowers. He heaved a deep sigh as he closed his eyes finally letting the tear fall. He wipped it away with his front black paw and put his black front paws over his snout and as he closed his eyes once more falling into a deep slumber, muttering words as he fell asleep. "If you see someone come over here to you Avery... Run, or just wake me up..." He sighed as he shifted around and kept his eyes open a little as he started to fall into a light sleep.

Avery gave an inward sigh of relief as she saw him stop, consider what she said, and then turn around to reply. When he spoke, his tone seemed to suggest that she was beginning to get onto a dangerous subject. But honestly, Avery was too curious to care. She wanted to find out what kind of sick group would force wolves to kill one another. "I'm a part of a group... That is all that I am going to say..." Wolfi said, obviously reluctant to provide her with any information. Her ears flicked as he turned around and started off towards the woods. “Why don’t you confront them, if they won’t let you leave? It has to stop somewhere…” She said quietly, but he didn’t respond. He sat down near the edge of the woods and glanced back at her. Avery tried to read his features; his expression held a great deal of pain. Finally he shook his head and turned back around, laying down into the flowers, ready to go to sleep. He murmured a few quiet, sleepy words of warning, and she pricked her ears to properly pick them up; "If you see someone come over here to you Avery... Run, or just wake me up..." She pinned her ears back. “I can take care of myself…” Ave muttered, shaking her sandy-blonde fur. She glanced to the sky. How had it already become so late? She sighed and padded to a tree at the edge of the clearing and sat down so that her shoulder leaned against it, muzzle pointed back out into the clearing. Avery looked upwards, studying the faint stars that had began emerging in the slowly darkening sky. She wrapped her short tail around her dark brown fore-paws, but it didn't manage to reach all the way around. Ave let her mind drift, wondering if there were any other wolves in the area; it seemed pretty quiet for a forest. Especially for one with such good hunting prospects. Avery let out a soft huff of air as she let her mind wander, gaze shifting from the sky to the sleeping form of Wolfi. Ave shook her head a little. His tragic story had left her even more confused than ever about this new place, and reminded her to be increasingly cautious. There were definitely bad wolves out there, she thought, shuddering at the thought of the dead wolf that was now lying in the bushes, just outside the clearing. Bad wolves indeed.

He pinned his ears back hearing her say the very thing that he had tired to do. He sighed as he got up and stated to walk to where he has left the dead body. As he passed her he muttered. "Some of us do not get a choice... It just happens to be the way that we were raised..." He trotted to the dead body, and started to dig a hole for it. It took a while but he managed to bury it. He sighed panting as he walked by her, and kept his blue and green gaze away from her pretty Amber, green speckled gaze. He sighed as he layed back down not to far from her his head raised high as he started to howl a slow, song. Come and dance with the stars of love... Come and dance with me... Come and dance with the stars of sorrow... Come and sing wih me... Come and count the stars of hope... His deep voiced howl faded as he waited for more words to come to his head as he sighed then started to sing. Evil or kind..? Just as of who am I? Am I a good or evil Wolf? Questions as of who I am pops into my head every day... Every wolf I kill... Turns into every second I run from myself... Afraid to face the truth of my past... Afraid to face my future... Afraid to face my final judgement day...

Avery pricked her ears as Wolfi stirred, pinning his ears back then getting up with a sigh. "Some of us do not get a choice... It just happens to be the way that we were raised..." He muttered to her as he walked past into the forest, and for a moment she thought he was leaving. She turned her head, watched as he partly disappeared into the thick bushes, and pricked her large ears as she heard the faint sound of claws against earth. He’s digging, she thought. He was burying the body. Avery flicked her ears backwards and looked away, then at her dark brown fore-paws. She wondered who that wolf had been, and why Wolfi had to kill it. Suddenly she heard returning paw-steps and she looked up, eyes following Wolfi’s large form as he returned to the clearing, panting from the effort of digging and obviously avoiding her eyes. A part of her wanted to ask who that wolf was, but… she didn’t want to make it any more painful than it already was. Ave's ears twitched as he threw his head back and began to howl out a haunting but hopeful tune. When he finished, she studied her paws for a few moments, then spoke up. “ Hey, Wolfi…” She paused, “Just... remember that you always have a choice.” Avery said softly, eyes trailing up to meet his. She wanted him to understand that, no matter how you were brought up, you could always choose to fight it. She was; if she'd decided to follow in her parents' footsteps, she would be hiding alone in some forest, afraid of ever having contact with other wolves. Though she had to admit her situation was a little different to being brought up with killer values, but it was the same concept; sometimes you just have to break free of your roots...
