Sigyn watched the pup squirm inwardly, glancing at the siblings briefly. Their words did not seem directed at her, but at Yami – besides, she and Nyx did not have a real connection of any sort. If she had to choose someone to create chaos with, she did not oppose the idea. Now though, in that moment in her anger, she could not even accept that in her mind. The pup started out by describing Nyx and giving her height in her dark feats. She rolled her eyes, as she knew Nyx was adept at shadow manipulation and dark feats, she did not care to have Yami repeat what she already knew.
It was when she began to speak about dreams that she perked up. So it was more than just one interaction between Nyx and Yami – either the dreams were Geist playing tricks with Yami, or there was some other past connection that neither considered. Or, it was possible that Nyx used her own nightmares against her, making herself the monster that she feared from the dreams. Either way, and again, Sigyn felt herself impressed by Nyx. This caused additional feelings of anger, thinking of where she was… It felt as if she were taking her own strength away, as Fenrir had been that for the past years as they traveled together.
“It sounds like Nyx is good for you then.” Her words were thoughtful, but at the same time she had a slight smile on her maw. Fear was powerful, and Nyx had already inspired it in the pup. Would it crush the pup or create another monster? Either way, the pup would be useful. Though, in the motherly part of Sigyn’s twisted mind, she had not seen a drop of care in Nyx, and with it all absent, she half wondered if one day the pup would turn on Nyx, or if the fear would always keep her at bay.
Her pale green eyes continued to consider the pup, and the longer she sat there, the more her desire for her own pups grew. This pup was too late twisted into the fate of Nyx to consider taking her for her own, but still she did consider. It was only in her nature, and she kept herself looking at the pup, only to stop herself from glancing where Fenrir and Nyx had gone. Minutes were drawing out and the longer they were gone, the more desperate her mind was becoming. Nyx had messed with this pup; she refused to be influenced similarly, so she focused on the pup and the pebbles that rolled around the pup to remind her not to think about escape. There was none.

Mayhem smirked and looked down on Yami as she spoke. Yami speaking about dreams brought thoughts of Mayhem's past, with his late parents and 'siblings' that crushed his spirit and soul for a long time. During that time he dreamed of death and the fallen bodies of wolves. Of course, the pup was talking about what seemed like a living death, Nyx. The female seemed horrified, and most likely for good reason. What Sigyn said made him think for a while before quietly agreeing with her.
Hailstorme was off in some other mindset before Yami spoke about dreams. At the mention of such things, her attention snapped back to the wolves. Dreams. While the word was dead to her, what Yami said she dreamed, or had nightmares, of was what intrigued Hailstorme. The pup constantly brought up darkness and fear, making it seem as though Nyx was an incarnate of death.
"From what you say, Nyx sounds like the living incarnate of death, really." She said with a low, deafening tone.

Yami;
Sigyn downplayed Yami's suffering—even when she went into such colourful detail. The pup's ears slid back and rested firmly against her head. She had thought that she had sensed something different in Sigyn—something more. But she had been wrong. Sigyn was just as dark, just as broken, just as putrid as any other wolf. She was nothing to Yami. Something inside the pup shifted then. It wasn't just because Sigyn turned up useless to her, for she hadn't put that much stock in the female in the first place—but it was that suddenly, she felt alone. Suddenly, it became all-too-easy to imagine that every other wolf would react in the same way. Who could Yami run to, if nobody would listen? If nobody would help? The young pup's eyes shifted then, too. It was almost as if a light within them died. She stared at Sigyn unflinchingly as the fire within her failed.
The male commented then as well, and Yami dragged her eyes over to him. She no longer cried from the pain of Fenrir. She no longer whimpered. Her face was a void. She knew her fate, and far was it from her to try and convince the dark beasts of anything else. "She is that," Yami agreed tonelessly. "Both the creator and the star of my darkest imaginings." She then turned slowly, mechanically, to Sigyn. "And you," There was still no inflection to her tone. She paused, and for a moment the old light flickered in her eyes. "You were exactly what I thought you were."
Nyx;
The shadows went out before her like a mist. They crawled up the trees the came in contact with, and slithered over the rocks and shrubs. The blanketed area of shadows was immense and went out far ahead of her, blackening the ground like the sky on a moonless night. It was silent, in those trees. Perhaps the birds had sensed evil. Perhaps the coming of night in the middle of the day confused them. All was at a hush as the shadows spread out noiselessly, unforgivingly, entirely—and then she came. Like a demon in the night. Nyx.
She knew that behind her roamed Fenrir, large, evil, angry... but more calm, now. He had more than satisfactorily fulfilled her desire. She bore a few marks of their encounter—but when two souls (or lack thereof) like theirs' met, that was to be expected. Her neck was cut, and one of her paws was skinned, but she was ready to meet the pup once more. To take her. In Nyx's jaws was a wickedly thorned vine. The spikes of the plant had cut into her gums and she was bleeding from the mouth too, but her boney shoulders were rolling ever-forward. Her eyes were focused dead ahead, unblinking.
The shadows broke through the trees before Nyx herself did. They told of her arrival like clouds before rain. They seeped out like a noxious gas, poisoning everything they touched. And then, she was there, her eyes already focused on Yami as she made her approach.

Sigyn;
The pup seemed fallen at the lack of response she had gotten from them. She watched as she suddenly became smaller, if possible, and the animation of the pup went out like the sun disappearing behind a cloud. There was something inside Sigyn that also fell in on itself, crushing something delicate and perhaps also dying. It was better that the young learn lifeâs lessons and harsh realty sooner than later. That is what she told herself to bury whatever she had felt moments before.
When the male spoke, Sigyn rolled her eyes. Obviously the pup had been exaggerating, speaking from the fear of her experience. She had spent time with Nyx and while she admired the femme and would gladly play Geist inspired games and bring fear on othersâ¦. But the incarnate of death was a little much. The red vixen found herself watching the pup, she no longer trembled from pain nor had expressions as she had before. Broken? Perhaps a step closer. Not quite. Then suddenly Yami was addressing her and she widened her eyes for a moment in curiosity. There was something that within her that squirmed. This was a part of her that she had trained well to stay silent for many years, but perhaps it was because this pup was young that it had nudged life into it.
A lip lifted in a half hearted snarl, unsure of what Yami meant, wondering what Yami had decided of her. Sigyn did not usually care what others thought of her, but this pup was a pup, far younger than what her pups would have been had they lived, but that did not stop her imagination from wondering. Her wondering came to a short stop though as shadows crept into the scene. Nyx. It was almost satisfying to watch as the shadows darkened everything it touched. It was a visual of how she hoped the touch of Geist would continue until it was everywhere. Sigyn had already lost most concentration on the pebbles and twigs at her feet, but now she released them all, falling lifeless at the feet of Yami, as lifeless as she looked.
Nyx broke through the clearing and if she could have risen one eyebrow, she would have as she considered the wolfess as she crept quietly into the clearing. There was the soft scent of fresh blood, but despite the few markings of the encounter that Sigyn imagined had happened, she felt more relaxed that she was back. She was glad that Nyx would take the pup away, that the pup was not dead, and of the renewed desire for her own young. As well that Fenrir would be back.
"Speaking of the devil...."Sigyn said with a slight smile, her tone holding a little sarcasm, but also acted a welcome of sorts.
—————————————————————
Fenrir;
Much like Nyxâs shadows, clouds materialized a little in front of Fenrirâs tread, only with less reach than the shadows. His connection to the sky was second nature, he did not have to think about the water falling, unless he wanted to control what type of rain or where to direct it. The male was aware that there was more he would be able to do and he kept reaching to do more, but the rain simply fell harder - but always in a vertical direction. Sometimes he imagined he had seen it drift off course, but he couldnât tell what was his work and what was the wind.
Now though, he was not thinking much about the cloud above him, only that he felt comfort in the drizzle above him. He did not even bother to create a bubble around himself, letting his mind dwell on sounds, images, and the feelings that he had felt minutes ago with Nyx. There was a rumble in his throat as she stalked forward, not quite a silent as Nyx, but for his size it was a surprisingly nimble movement, his head low and following Nyxâs tracks like an addict.
It had been very different from all other encounters with females, and it had calmed part of the beast within him, but also made it more greedy and alive â just abated for the moment. He paused before entering the scene, allowing a moment alone in his thoughts before having to interact with others. With a stony expression, the male continued forward and entered the scene moments after Nyx. He stood slightly behind her like one of her looming shadows. He held his own marks of his and Nyxâs encounter; scrapes along the fronts of his legs and one long stripe along his right side. Fenrir glanced casually at his sister out of habit, but grazed past her back to Nyx whoâs back was to him, going toward Yami with what he had guessed would be her makeshift leash. ooc// sorry this took me so long! Coming back from vacation is hard xD Also, it's doing that weird thing where it replaces punctuation with weird symbols... sorry about that...

Hailstorme tilted her head slightly at Yami's last remark, but the crawling shadows that were engulfing the forest made the small female cast a sideways glance at it. Mayhem looked at it briefly, then looked away once Nyx arrived.
"Hey again." He grumbled, aware of Hailstorme dipping her head slightly before backing away from the pup. He did the same, guessing that the other male was not far behind. Then Fenrir appeared, and Mayhem flicked his ears in acknowledgement. His eyes drifted back to Nyx, now seeing the vine in her mouth. But he looked away to see his sister glaring at Yami, then to Nyx, then to Fenrir. 'Is she stupid!?' He thought as he shoved her harshly. Hailstorme, in turn, took a rude snap at him, managing to nip his cheek, drawing blood. He bared his teeth and glared at her, keeping the glare until his sister backed away, incensed.
Mayhem huffed harshly in annoyance, then watched as she turned and walked away from the clearing and closer to the brush. She sat down and glared at him with a look that consisted of fury, jealously, and maybe a hint of sadness. She bared her teeth but kept her eyes on him, fur bristled and body tense.

Nyx, Yami;
Orange eyes within a pool of black, bright but quiet, like embers after a forest fire, did not move in their sockets as Nyx crossed the ground. She was still a way away from the rest of the group, but her gaze had locked onto Yami's own black eyes. The pup would normally have shrunk backwards and tried to get away, but this time she didn't even move. Her heart beat barely increased, and her eyes became half-lidded as she looked on towards the coming shadow; indeed, the shadows stretching out across the valley from Nyx had now risen up behind her like a tidal wave. Only this wave did not come crashing down to provide cleansing—this wave was slow, ever-moving, and always building upon itself as Nyx walked farther forward. Had the black and orange female looked back, she would have appreciated just how much ground her shadows were covering, for it was great—but in that moment she only had eyes for Yami. As she moved forward with Fenrir and his murky clouds following behind, she truly did appear to be some goddess of the night; with the shadows lapping at her feet and lifting above her to blot out the sun, stretching before her so all she touched was darkness. Her ears flicked as she continued her silent journey onward, and she tightened her grip on the wicked thorns. She wasn't opposed to the taste of her own blood. Nyx was also aware of Fenrir behind her, but as she had been satisfied, she now craved a different sort of release.
Back with the group, all Yami could do was crane her head back and watch as the shadows rose above to swallow her whole. A palpable tension had formed, racing across the clearing between her and Nyx, but when Sigyn spoke it was broken. Yami made no motion that she had heard Sigyn announce Nyx and Fenrir's reemergence, but did turn her head when the closest sibling pair had a little spat. A nip and a growl later, and Hailstorme had stalked off towards the bushes. Yami wasn't quite sure what had happened between them or why the female was suddenly so angry, but at that moment Nyx and Fenrir came within hearing range.
Nyx's eyes found Sigyn, and she gave the slightest tilt of her head. Whether it was in mockery of what had just happened, or in greeting, it wasn't clear. She knew the brute had caught up when a subtle rain began to fall from low clouds. Quickly, it had soaked through Nyx's dry, wiry fur and left her dripping. She allowed a cold smirk to settle onto her features. With a few quick paces, she had stalked past Sigyn without another glance and stopped in front of Yami. The other sibling pair seemed at odds and the sister had run off, but that wasn't what Nyx was dealing with. She reached forward as easily as breathing and caught the pup's irritatingly-similarly-colored pelt in her claws and yanked her neck down to the ground. She leaned into her leg, applying an uncomfortable amount of pressure onto the pup's little neck. Yami was already so weak from the attack from Fenrir, she didn't even fight back. It was a limp body that fell at the feet of Nyx.
Nyx ground her claws into the pup's skin, then bent down and began lashing the vine around Yami's neck. The thorns cut in and through her fur, and were buried even deeper as Nyx pulled and pushed against them. Yami cried out only once, and her eyes darted to Sigyn and away once more, but then after that remained quite silent. When Nyx was through, the skinny she-devil straightened once more and pulled the vine taught, with one end in her mouth.
"It seems I've gained another shadow."

Sigyn;
Sigyn watched Nyx approach, and if she had not known who she was, she could admit that one would probably cower in fear from her deathly appearance. Perhaps she had less of a soul, perhaps there was something less of her – that made her more dark, but Sigyn was too proud to admit any of it, only that Nyx had a presence, and she did admire it. The blood red wolfess sat still, the white parts on her body were tinted brown from the day’s activities, and the light rain from Fenrir’s cloud didn’t seem to have a cleansing effect on her coat. It just made her wet. She wanted to groan, and she glanced at him stalking behind Nyx and she felt her chest tighten. There was something missing from their connection that had been there before, perhaps it was just in the moment, but as Fenrir met her own gaze she held it for a moment and then looked away, as if she were bored, back to Nyx who approached the pup.
She was very aware that if she wanted the pup as her own, that her moment was fading quickly. Once the vine was around the pup’s neck, Yami would be the property of Nyx’s. Nyx first looked at Sigyn momentarily and tilted her head in a sort of gesture. It was very vague, and she did not return it, but Nyx was too focused on the pup already. Her own eyes hardened as the distance between Nyx and Yami dissipated and the procedure began.
So, it was to be a leash.
The pup yelped and she found her body tensing momentarily, catching the pup’s momentary glance and her heart ached all the more. Sigyn suddenly stood, many emotions threatening to emerge as memories and the present moment were colliding furiously. Her pale green eyes narrowed and without even glancing at Fenrir, or the others, she turned and slipped away from the group. She wanted to get away from the rain. The shadows. Fenrir would find her if he wanted to, she was not worried about that, but the blood pumping through her needed to be because she was running, not because of the feelings of old and new. Her jaw clenched and she continued to dart aimlessly through the grove that touched the edge of the lake. The mark on her back leg started to glow suddenly and she found stones the size of eyes to roll and gain momentum beside her. Soon they had caught up to her, a dozen of them rolling with her command and the energy from her sudden emotions started to build up until she couldn’t stand it.
She was far away from the group now, and knew they probably couldn’t hear her as she snarled when coming to sudden jarring stop. Her snarl turned into an eruptive growl and the stones momentum suddenly twitched and flew past her. It looked as if the wind had suddenly come through and picked a few of the dozen and swept them into the air. They were flying – though with no direction or guidance, Sigyn had simply given them direction up and their momentum carried them, one flying so quickly it buried itself into a trunk of the tree in front of her. The others simply fell still or bounced off the tree and fell lifeless once more. She was breathing quickly and her whole body was trembling from the effort, but the surprise of what had happened had graciously distracted her.
Fenrir was part of her life, but she had more. Perhaps one day she would not need his brawns and she would make it on her own way without him…but even that thought was not consoling. She assumed this was because of the time and events they shared, they understood each other… well mostly.
She glanced behind her, still panting and trembling – but decided she had enough of looking back. It was time to look forward. Her head jerked in front of her and she weakly trotted further away from the lake.
-exit Sigyn-
Fenrir;
Fenrir watched Nyx’s form, but he stopped long before she started to approach Yami, leaving space between him and the group. He was a simple life form and his needs were equally simple. He did not fully understand Sigyn’s more complex emotions and her desire for pups, but feeling more calm – his spite had melted from his demeanor. He found Sigyn looking at him and he watched back, having almost forgotten her glares and the smirks that had been interchanged before he had left. His mind had been consumed with shadows and Nyx, and like the typical male had not time to think of more than one thing at a time.
He held her gaze and didn’t look away when she looked away. She was upset, and some of what had happened before came back to him slowly. His face was equally as emotionless, but he had felt the urge to smile. He was distracted momentarily as Nyx began to force the pup into its new binding, but he was not watching the pup, but enjoying how Nyx forcibly encircled the thing’s neck with the thorns.
He thought about Nyx’s words, about her new shadow, her new slave. He blinked thoughtfully and thought about how he usually acted as Sigyn’s shadow – following her where she went. He did not resent it always, but the thought had occurred to him earlier that day, how she made the call of what they did, or what she did not do. The thought reminded him momentarily of how angry he had been that she had tried to get in the way, when suddenly she was gone. He blinked in surprise, almost missing her exit, but she being a brighter color, noticeably left the area. Fenrir watched the empty spot where she had been, the burst of anger suddenly melting into confusion.
He shifted uncomfortably, but did not sit down, glancing at Nyx’s back and her new ward. Fenrir felt no connection to the pup, but he did feel a new connection with Nyx – and he regretted leaving her side. But did he need to? He glanced in the direction that his sister went, his thoughts with no particular direction – and entirely at a loss.
