Fia:
She sat by quietly as Nik explained why he had picked his den. Fia smiled in all the right places, and even chuckled a time or two when looking toward the sunrise. ”Yes, it’s very beautiful. Do you think I’m beautiful?” The pup smiled at the stranger, her tail sweeping through the air behind her slowly.
Before he answered though, he walked to the front of the den. He smelled a spot of blood that Fia hadn’t noticed. It must have been left over from one of his own meals, because Fia had eaten on the other side of the den mouth, and had also cleaned up after herself. She shrugged lightly. ”No, I wouldn’t take your food without asking!” Her small chest inflated at the assumption. ”What do you think of me, Nik?” She looked around in confusion, until her eyes fell on the store of rabbits and other small game. ”Oh,” She murmured and nodded towards it. ”I don’t much like rabbit. Are you a messy eater, Nik?” She giggled to herself and went to sit by the cave mouth and watch the sun some more.
”Why were you out in the forest of love yesterday?” She turned to look at him, all innocence and purity. ”Ans did you find whatever it was you were looking for?”

Nikolai blushes a bit, but the blush was barely noticeable underneath his fur. “I do think you’re beautiful, and I have no idea what to think of you... I’m so confused... first I thought that I was falling in love with you, then I thought that you didn’t like me... and now I feel like I may be falling in love with you again...” he answers with complete honesty. He then walks back over to Fia and sits down next to her. “And, to answer your other question, I’m not normally a very messy eater, but if I haven’t had food in a while, I may get a little bit messy. I went to the Forest of Love yesterday because I was hoping to find a mate... but I wasn’t successful at doing so.” He then looks at her and asks with a bit of nervousness in his voice “hey, Fia, if you had the opportunity to take me as your mate, would you take it?”

Fia;
When he said she thought she was beautiful, somehow, she kept the smirk off her face. There was no time to be showing expressions like that. Instead, she ducked her head down and laughed breathlessly. ”Thank you, Nik. You’re beautiful too—or should I say handsome?” She blinked, squinting into the sun and not looking at him. The sun was fire, fire was power. It was most of what Fia thought about. Quickly however, she realized she should add something else to her last comment. ”Oh Nik, don’t be confused. Just because I’m a pup barely out of the den, daughter of the most evil wolves in the valley, and heir to the most dangerous evil pack around...” She brought her chin down and flashed her teeth in a smile. ”Those things don’t mean we can’t be very dear friends, and maybe... maybe more.”
She had to be careful not to let her smile get too wide or careless and turn into a sneer. Oh this was very fun. What we’re mother and father going to say?
When he asked his question, Fia looked to the ceiling. ”I just met you, Nik, but...” Her mind started turning, thinking of what to fabricate in that moment. ”But even though we just met I do feel safe around you. And happy, too...” She blinked her eyes slowly, for good effect. ”I am quite hungry though, since I didn’t eat anything all night. Should we go hunt? I’ve never hunted by myself before...”

After hearing that Fia felt safe around him, Nikolai smiles a tiny bit and says “I’m glad that you feel safe around me. And to answer your question, I would love to hunt with you.” He then gets up and begins to walk out of the den. “Wow, for the daughter of the alphas of the Midnight Silence Pack, Fia seems to get along with me very well. I’m debating on whether I should be mates with her or not. On one paw, she acts like the sweetest young female that I have ever met... But on the other paw, she’s evil, and being that I’m allied with the good side, I don’t think either side would appreciate her and I being together... And if, god forbid, her parents find out about her and I being together... I sure as heck hope that they’ll take pity on me and kill me quickly.” Nikolai thinks to himself. He then sat down and waited for Fia to join him outside. The way the sunlight was angled made Nikolai’s fur shimmer like a sandy desert.

Fia;
When Nik exited the cave, Fia bounded after him with only the energy a two-month pup could have. She yipped and remained close to his heels, smiling up at him and allowing the sun to reflect off the honey-gold in her eyes. He sat a ways off and Fia had to catch up, since her legs were so small. ”Mother and Father have no time to teach me hunting. I only play pounce.” She smiled at him bashfully. ”Will you teach me? I’m sure you’re strong and very good at hunting indeed. You had all those rabbits in your den.” Minus one, of course. She hid a deceitful smirk behind a puppyish grin. Her tail wagged behind her steadily, and her bright expression only served to highlight her youthful innocence and excitement.

Nikolai says with a smile “sure, I’ll teach you how to hunt. It’s actually quite easy once you get the basics down. And since you already know how to pounce already, it’ll be even easier. All you have to do is bite down on the prey’s neck.” Nikolai then spots a rabbit nearby and says “allow me to demonstrate...” He gets into his hunting position and pounces on the rabbit, pinning it down. He then swiftly bit down on the rabbit’s neck. The rabbit immediately went limp and Nikolai brings it over to Fia and sets it down in front of her. He then shows her where he bit down on the rabbit’s neck and says “this is the sweet spot. If you want an easy hunt, go for around this area. It’s where the rabbit’s weak spot is.” Nikolai then sees another rabbit and says “ok, now it’s your turn to try.” He then sits down and says in his mind “Fia May be the easiest pup I have ever trained to hunt...”

Fia;
Nikolai smiles at her, the sun reflecting off his rich pelt as if it was made of the deepest of sands. Fia's own eyes sparkled as she met his gaze. "Ohh, you will teach me?" She yipped happily and settled down excitedly as he told her he would demonstrate. He quickly located a rabbit and ended its life, before stalking back to Fia and telling her to take a try. Fia looked up at him and smiled softly, the sun glinting off the red in her fur and making it look as much like deep blood as Nik's looked like sand. "You're awfully good at hunting..." She dipped her head, feeling another smirk, but by the time she righted herself she was perfectly pretty once more. "I was right about you being smart and strong."
She followed his gaze and pinpointed the rabbit. She leapt forward, too fast and excited. She landed with a thump and the lagomorph zipped into the underbrush. Fia was after it in a heart beat, allowing a wild and carefree laugh enter the air. It was only a short time later, however, that she leapt without looking and landed in a particularly sharp and deep bramble. Her jaws snapped closed on empty air just inches from the rabbit's hind leg, and it made its escape. She yelped loudly, mostly out of frustration, but once the adrenaline had worn off, she started to feel just how deep the thistles were, too.

Nikolai watches Fia as she attempts to hunt. He sees her dart off behind some nearby bushes after missing the rabbit. Nikolai then hears her yelp and goes to find her. He sees that she has gotten into a thick bramble of thistles. Nikolai helps her get out of the thistles without hurting her any further. Once she got out of the bramble of thistles, he says to her “it’s ok, nobody’s perfect on their first hunt. One thing to keep in mind though for next time is to slow down a bit. Darting off like that only will get you into these kinds of situations, or worse...” Nikolai has a flashback to his first hunt. He was chasing a rabbit and darting left and right, trying to catch it. He attempted to pounce on it, but ended up nearly falling off a cliff. Thankfully, there was a thick bush that prevented him from going off the edge of the cliff. Having that flashback made Nikolai shiver a bit. He gazes at Fia and says “let’s head back to the den and get you cleaned up. I’ve got a few herbs that will help alleviate the pain from the scratches that the thistles gave you.”

Fia;
She was just about to rip herself free, for no bramble could hold Fia for long, when she heard the pawfalls of Nik approaching. She stilled her movements and turned her head just in time to see him come around from the other bushes. She lifted her brow, her eyes focused in on his face. He helped her out. "You're so gentle," She hummed, resting her forepaws on his shoulders as he helped her out from the bushes. She threw her voice, allowing it to become breathy. "Thank you—" She flicked her eyes down with a small smile, then brought her gaze up again, in would-be embarrassment. He explained that hunting was difficult on one's first try. Then his face twitched slightly and suddenly his eyes seemed far off. Fia watched him closely, moving toward him to check that he was alright just a second too slow. He came back quickly. She exhaled softly, tilting her head slightly. "Are you alright, Nik?" Her voice piped up, concern lacing her words.
She agreed when he said they should move to the den. She forced a smile when he said he had herbs. She didn't know how long she wanted to push this... herbs often hurt scratches. "Only if you won't hurt me..." She hitched a half-smile to her face and fell into step close beside him.

Nikolai smiles slightly and says “You’re welcome, I’m glad I could help.” He then hears her ask if he was ok after his flashback and he replies with a small chuckle “oh, I just had a flashback to my first time hunting... and let’s just say I was very clumsy at it.” Nikolai then walks back into his den and grabs a small bundle of rosemary and sage from the dried herbs that he had collected over the years and wraps them up in a large aloe leaf that had been soaking in a small pool of water that had formed after intense downpours of rain had eroded a tiny canal into his den. This water was enriched with a lot of calcium and iron, both of which were prominent in the rocks of his den. Nikolai then takes the soaked aloe leaf that now has rosemary, sage, iron, and calcium infused into it and places it on Fia’s scratches that she had gotten from the bramble of thistles. He then says “this may sting a little bit at first, but the pain should quickly subside after the oils from the aloe leaf and the rosemary get into the scratches.”

Fia;
Fia followed the male back into the den, imagining all the trouble he would be in if her parents found out where she was, or what he was thinking about. A wicked smile traces her mouth and she dashes ahead of him, glancing over her shoulder and meeting his eyes before trotting into the den up ahead. Nik busied himself with gathering the herbs he had spoken of earlier. Fia hesitated by the entrance, already unsure of her choice. This medicine would hurt, she just knew it. She could still run away—he would never even miss her. But for some blasted reason she remained, not quite through with the fun just yet.
When he said it would sting, she flinched and made to move away. But no. That's not what nice pups did. Nice pups accepted help when it was freely offered. And isn't that what she was trying to be? Or at least—seem to be? With a slight sigh, she offered her hind leg reluctantly, which held most of the scratches. "It better not hurt," She said, her voice dipping a little bit too-close to 'daughter of the Alpha-pair'. She cleared her throat. "I mean—sorry, I'm just nervous. I don't do well with pain." Yea, that would work.

Nikolai says while smiling softly and beginning to wrap Fia’s leg with the aloe leaf “it’s ok. Like I said, it’ll only hurt for a few minutes, but once the aloe and rosemary oils get into the wounds, the pain should subside. I wouldn’t do this if I knew it would only hurt you even more, trust me.” He then finishes wrapping her leg up with the aloe leaf, making sure to be extra gentle while doing so, to prevent causing her any more discomfort. Nikolai saysn his mind “I hope her parents won’t try to rip me to shreds if they find out that I was helping her... but since I am a good wolf, and they’re evil, I wouldn’t be surprised if they do...” Nikolai then secures the aloe leaf in place with a little bit of pine sap. He then says “There, the pine sap should act as a strong adhesive to prevent the aloe leaf from falling off.” Nikolai then walks over to the back of the den and lays down. He says with a hint of worry in his voice “I hope your parents won’t be too upset at me for helping you out... But then again, they are allied with the evil side, and I am allied with the good side, so I’m accepting my fate either way.” He then lays his head down and sighs, wondering about all of the potential outcomes of the situation at hand.

Fia;
Despite all the thoughts within her mind and her misgivings about the situation, the herbal potion did seem to help a little bit. She winced and bared her teeth for only a moment as Nikolai applied it, but soon after the pain was gone. She didn't exactly want to admit that it had helped. For a half moment, Fia felt a wave of guilt pass over her. Nik had helped her—twice now, if the hunting lesson had counted. She chewed her lip, glancing up at him for a moment. Was the game going too far? When he brought up their alignments though, Fia felt a smile pass over her lips. Yes that's right... she was evil. It wasn't her fault if every good wolf and their sires showed up to help every other wolf they came across.
"Well I'll tell them you helped me," Fia said, moving toward him and sitting down a few feet from him. "If they come—which they won't. They're busy." She hated the way her voice sounded almost longing in that moment. They were busy, and a good thing too, or else Midnight Silence would not be as powerful as it was. She sighed. It was true, though. They wouldn't come here. And perhaps that wasn't all bad. Fia could have some more fun in that case, at least. "You're awfully nice for helping me, Nik..."

Nikolai smiles and says “Hey, I’m just doing my job. I love protecting others, even if they’re evil. The reason why I protect others is because I never was protected by anyone when I was a pup. Every time I was injured, whether it was sustained from a fight with another wolf or any other wild animal, nobody bothered to help me... and it made me feel like I was an outcast of my own kind. But seven years ago, my life changed forever. I found a young female wolf who was about to be killed by a cougar, and my protective instincts kicked in. I immediately jumped into action and lunged at the cougar. The cougar hissed and growled at me before slinking back into the woods. I helped the young female wolf get up and I escorted her back here, where I treated her wounds and helped her heal up. After she finished healing, and she regained her strength, she thanked me and before leaving my den, she said ‘I’m so glad that you helped me.’ Hearing that made me feel like I was no longer an outcast. So I vowed from that day forward to help any other wolves I could, no matter their alliance.” Nikolai then lays down at the back of the den and waits for her to join him.

((Just remember that anything over six-ish years old is pretty old for a wild wolf! I just say my adult characters never age hahaha. Manaaki and Kanga would be seniors))
Fia;
Fia leaned closer as Nikolai spoke. Whatever her reasons for staying to listen, it was an interesting story. She had never met a cougar. She had never been in true danger, really. Unless her trips to Geist were to be counted, but even then she hadn’t felt truly like her life had ever been in jeapardy. But the way Nik spoke of the cougar was interesting. Even exciting.
”So you are brave,” She hummed, her honey eyes like liquid gold and trained on him. ”I sure would feel safer with you by my side.” A hidden smirk, one that appeared to be a shy smile. He moved to the den once he was finished speaking, and then looked to her as if she was to join him. Fia did so, again imagining what her parents would think of it; or better yet, how they would react.
”How can I be brave like you?”
