Nikolai hears her confirm that he was in fact very brave and replies with a slight chuckle “Yeah I guess I was, but most of that bravery was because of the pure adrenaline that was coursing through my body at that moment.” He then hears her ask him how she can be brave like him and he says with a smile “well, if or when a situation arises –whether it be trying to resolve a conflict or saving a life– and you feel like you could put up a fight and potentially take control of the situation and resolve it, don’t hesitate to act on it. The most crucial moments are when you decide to act and what to do next after resolving it to prevent the situation from happening again.” Nikolai then lays his head down and thinks to himself “wow... I haven’t told that story since the day I met Terra... I also sensed a hint of adoration in her voice when she told me that I was brave. I sure hope that story will settle well with her parents, or else I’m going to be in a load of trouble if they were to find out...”

The pup listened as the brave, handsome male before her explained the adrenaline of the moment. Fia's soft yellow eyes traced his frame as he spoke, unsure of what an older wolf would do in this situation. They were both laying down, now—so Fia shifted a little bit closer to him, closer indeed, enough so that their fur brushed. Fia gave a minute gasp, barely audible, and looked down at her shoulder brushing against his, as if she had felt something like sparks or heat.
Then, Nik began to explain how she could be brave like him. He spoke of resolving conflict or saving lives. Fia blinked at that. Resolving conflict, she could see. She had plenty of issues that she could solve on her own. But saving lives? Why would she? except her siblings, of course—but others?
"It doesn't sound like you and I will use the same sort of bravery," She said, looking up at him. She was getting the feeling that perhaps her little game was almost over. "Why should I save another's life, when I could simply turn my head and enrich my own?" Her ears, red and white both, flicked quickly. "What worry is it to me, another's well being?"
