Kanga;
When Chai suggested that Burnice was smitten with him, Kanga’s face lit up in understanding. Of course! Boy, he could be a daft brick sometimes. He hates proving Manaaki so right. Of all his complaining about what the forest stood for, he had all but forgotten that it applied to him for as long as he was under the pink boughs. ”Ooohhh....” He caught Chai’s gaze and flashed her something between a grimace and a smirk, but just then is when Burnice returned.
For all of the beasts’ confusion, Burnice didn’t much explain herself. Such a small wolf taking down something ad large as an elk, alone, was near enough to physically impossible. Was she a trained assassin from some dark pack? Did shevhave a power that they didn’t know about? When Kanga prompted her memory, she gave an unconvincing lie that she had forgotten. Kanga snorted and his forehead furrowed. A likely story. Then, to make matters even stranger, the female became upset when she saw there was elk blood on her paws. Kanga’s eyes widened. Was she imbalanced? ”Well you just killed the thing,” He said airily, moving forward with swift confidence. ”You’ll notice that when we—the wolves—kill things—the elk—lots of blood goes everywhere. Hence the killing. When the blood spills out, the thing dies. I find it strange and remarkable that you’re still alive if such things make you... queezy...” He looked at her paw. It really was only a speck of blood. He reached forward, having decided that perhaps he was a little hungry, with a private grin meant only for himself this time. He clamped his massive jaws around the upper shoulder of the beast. ”There’s a lot more blood in it than that.” And with that, his back and shoulders flexed, his paws dug in, and he ripped the thing’s front leg from its body. Blood began to pour from the wound, a shocking amount since it was so freshly dead, and Kanga picked the leg up and trotted a step or two away and set to work. His eyes flicked between Burnice and Chai, wondering how each would react to the moment, and having an idea of what he wanted to happen.
((And actually Boomer it is physically impossible for a small female wolf to take down a large mature bull elk alone. The average female grey wolf weight is about 75 pounds VS a mature bull elk’s weight at anywhere from 600-800 pounds. And if Burnice is small, well... Yea. Lol. Typically with big hunts it requires a mod to make it more realistic. We are fine with small hunts; rabbits, grouse, foxes, etc during Rp—but when it gets much bigger than that it usually requires a mod. For next time ^^ ))

Chai;
Chai looked at her expectantly and was surprised when she saw resentment and obstinance. Then, she blamed it on her. Chai’s face broke in a grin at the female’s childish jealousy. She sat back down, her eyes widening in a different kind of shock, this time at Burnice’s smirk after mocking her earlier shock at Burnice taking down such large prey on her own. Chai’s shock faded and she smiled lightly, letting her feelings turn into the rain again, sliding off the leaf… Clearly the moment she had had with Kanga had been important to Burnice, while Chai thought her reactions petty, she could respect the female’s feelings. Maybe feelings that she herself didn’t even realize yet. However, not enough respect to leave – it was far too interesting and her travels in the vale had been mostly quiet.
Chai didn’t really understand what Burnice had been looking at on her paw until Kanga started to walk toward the Elk, talking about blood. A half a moment before Burnice had cringed separately, like she was in pain. Keeping quiet still, so not to further upset Burnice in some way, she stood up. As proud as Chai was, she was no fool to refuse a free meal – besides, why let it go to waste? Kanga had already gotten to the beast, gripped onto it, and spoke with his mouth full about blood and then – yanked. Being a few paces closer to Kanga as he yanked made her feel even smaller, even weaker than before. Her insides fluttered – fear being one of those butterflies. She’d never met a wolf quite as large as Kanga, and having only met him for mere minutes… she was no fool to just assume he was good or even neutral. She watched him walk away, not even noticing the gory scene he had left a few paces behind.
Her tail swayed a little, pretending it hadn’t bothered her, but her face was rather blank compared to what it had been. “Anyone teach you to not talk with your mouth full?” She chimed, quickly forgetting her resolve to keep quiet. Chai shut her mouth, glancing toward Burnice.
“Thanks for sharing.” She said, a soft smiling playing at her lips. Petite paws hoisted her on the elk’s hind and with her teeth she worked at the hide to peel it back. Once she had she started to take mouth-fulls of meat, chewing and savoring the warm meal. It had been a loooong time since she had had a good meal like this one… well, since she had left her pack. It brought back memories of moon lit hunts with her siblings and mother and the others that ran with them. It hadn’t been a large crowd, but it had felt good. Actually, till that moment, she hadn’t regretted leaving her pack – now though as the meat started to fill and satisfy her hunger, she realized that perhaps she had missed the company and good meals.

((Ok Meds! I was just watching a cartoon late at night when I wrote that post, I was so sleepy! I was confused at what I was writing >XD But for next time! I know what to do!))
Burnice;
Burnice had a blank face listening to Kanga's explanation about blood and so. Of course she knew when wolves kill an animal, blood goes everywhere, her uncle taught her that when she was just a pup. Burnice watched as Kanga ripped the dead elks leg, no biggie, not the first time (and won't be last) she's seen a wolf ripped a poor animal. "Phew," Burnice said quietly "They didn't hear that..Good." she gave a smile as she was looking down, but that smile faded away from more pain, ugh. "Have you no decency? Oh wait, I should expect that from such a enormous wolf like yourself. " She sat and simply watched Kanga as he ate, she gave a quick giggle that would turn into a smirk. Burnice momentarily glanced at Chai "Oh no need to thank me, Chai." she smiled softly back at Chai "It was my pleasure, really." she watched as Chai walked away just to eat the elks hind.
She glanced back at Kanga not moving from her current spot, she wasn't going to eat, not after the hard kick she took just minuets ago. Burnice laid on her belly waiting for either one of the wolves to be done, Burnice slowly closed her eyes lost in her mind, thinking of how she defeated that elk. Yes, it was impossible, she smirked again remembering how both Kanga and Chai reacted. Burnice giggled again almost uncontrollably, forgetting the pain that was in her stomach, maybe the pain went away now. She looked at both wolves wondering they had heard her.

Kanga;
Kanga’s keen eyes picked up each female’s reaction, so he saw as Chai’s face went blank. Ah, not one for the joke, perhaps? The next thing she said however pulled a grin from his mouth—but he was too busy eating to reply; in fact, he made sure of it. Then it would seem that the females made a rocky peace, and Kanga sensed the slight tension, or perhaps it had just been confusion, shift and evaporate as Chai began to eat and thanked Burnice. Burnice, on the other hand, for all her muttering and flinching about the speck of blood on her paw, really didn’t seem very concerned when Kanga ripped the thing apart. All for the better, he guessed, but he had been hoping for a larger-scale reaction. Then Burnice asked if Kanga had any decency, but that it didn’t really surprise her because he was so big. Kanga lifted his russet head from the leg and grinned devilishly at her, still chewing.
”Exactly. I dont have any decency.” Kanga’s eyes flashed as he spoke, flicking back and forth between the girls. He was clearly making fun of himself, but his voice almost made it sound as if he was just as surprised by the statement. ”I have a rather annoying brother who could die happy if he heard me admit that.” Another snicker. ”But I assure you my lack in that department has nothing to do with my build. Although I am enormous. You’re right. Very enormous.” He then took another bite of meat, but slowed down after that—not because he was full, he was rarely full—but because eating wasn’t a very social thing.
He was still unsure whether coming to the love forest had been a good idea or not. He glanced at the two strangers before him, chewing his lip. He recalled his conversation with Kaily, where she had told him not to rush into anything. He gave a quiet snort of thought. ”Burnice, are you smitten with me?” He glanced towards Chai and didn’t smile, but the spark of mischief in his eye could have lit the forest on fire.

Chai;
The mystery and excitement of being with ‘new wolves’ was beginning to wear off as she assessed each wolf’s personality. Burnice was pleasant, too nice (though Chai had never known that was a thing), but at the same time overly competitive and… well, slightly odd. Kanga on the other hand, was a little more difficult to read – but otherwise his personality consisted of joking, sarcasm, showing off his strength (or whatever asset he found wonderful about himself), and… quite the troublemaker she assumed. So, what was he doing there? He hated the forest and its pinkness, said he didn’t need the romantic backdrop…but here he was. Was he actually looking for love. It would seem too cruel to be here to poke fun at other’s love… So either he was a dangerous sadist, or he was truly conflicted about something, enough to see if his solution was in the forest of love.
She found herself staring at Kanga a little longer than needed, noticing his smile at her comment, and then his troublemaker smile at Burnice’s rude remark about decency. Wait, rude? Alarmed she glanced at Burnice, confused at her sharp words... Then her giggling fit confirmed her personality assumptions about the other female: slightly odd. However, Chai was not surprised by the joking tone (sarcastically surprised tone) that Kanga responded with. She sighed and turned back to the elk, peeling back more hide on the hind and tearing out chucks of warm meat. Peel, tear, chew, peel, tear, chew… it was rather therapeutic.
There was a lull in the conversation, a short one, but enough to pull her out of her reverie. Still chewing and her gray muzzle darkened with blood, her purple gaze moved up toward Kanga who was looking at Burnice as if he was remembering something. She stopped mid-chew when Kanga asked Burnice if she was smitten with him. Her eyes grew large and she swallowed the bite she had been working on whole, about the time Kanga glanced over at her. She had a small coughing fit and cleared her throat, wincing as the large piece of meat slowly made its way down her throat. Gah, this male sure liked to pull on strings to see what happened. This time, she did not speak, but looked casually over at Burnice to see what her reaction would be.

Burnice;
Although Kanga was still eating the elk, he agreed with Burnice about having no decency and how big he was. She giggled almost at the same time Kanga would snicker, Burnice gave a small closed mouth smile while looking at the large male. But then suddenly Kanga asked if she was smitten with him, what? "Am I-What? smitten with you?"Burnice gave a small nervous laugh trying to think of something to say "Hehe, um. Why would you.. Think...That..?" her nervous smile grew wider as her tail suddenly wagged really fast uncontrollably, Burnice quickly put her paw on her tail just to stop it from wagging. she looked down at her tail with eyes gleaming. "Oh alright. I.....I.." Burnice didn't have the guts to say it but she had to grab all her courage and just say the simple truth, she gave a quick and quiet sigh before answering "I... I Fancy you. Ok?" Burnice used a different word hoping it would be just as good.
She looked up at Kanga wondering how he would react and or say, then Burnice looked at Chai for the same reason. Burnice suddenly gave a small giggle that was only meant for her to hear. "Chai, areyou smitten with Kanga? " she tilted her head still looking at the other female with smirk on Burnice's face but the female wouldn't notice it.

Kanga;
It seemed that Chai was losing interest in the interaction—not something that Kanga often allowed. Fortunately however, when he turned and repeated Chai’s assumption loudly and without hesitation, he saw her interest peak once more. She about choked when Kanga glanced her way, which pulled a big sloppy grin to his mouth as he turned once more and waited for Burnice’s reply. Burnice seemed quite surprised by the question, but Kanga reserved his judgement for later. She asked why he would think that, and a few easy answers came to his mind. First, her ever-increasingly odd behaviour. Second, all her mutterings. Third, Chai had said it first. But he didn’t reply and merely waited.
When the female said that she fancied him, a quick, deep chuckle built in Kanga’s throat. How easy it would be, if he were able to fancy others so quickly. Why, if that were the case he wouldn’t have to be here in the stupid pink forest in the first place. But then before he could still his laughter and say something Manaaki-esk to cool the air, Burnice surprised him and asked bluntly if Chai fancied him. His chuckle built to a snort and a guffaw, and he turned sharply, wildly. His grin widened as he found Chai’s gaze. She had done nothing thus far to make Kanga think that she would “fancy” him; but awaiting her answer in the undoubtedly awkward moments to come was something too fun to pass up on.

Chai;
She watched as the female uncomfortable squirmed under the question (as Chai would if she were in her position). First, she repeated the question – then asked why he had come to the conclusion of her being smitten and Chai nearly rolled her eyes. Burnice seemed to be really struggling with the answer, which was obvious…but she had suspected that Burnice was trying to find an answer to distract the male from his question (which…actually might not have worked anyways, as he was quite determined to have his mind probing questions answered)…she had not suspected that she was gaining the courage to admit to it. Her eyes widened a little and she licked her muzzle, quickly letting her gaze slide to Kanga to see his reaction.
Now she did roll her eyes. The male was chuckling at Burnice! After this female had spilled some of her feelings... It seemed typical of a male. She had been glaring at Kanga when Burnice addressed her. Her stomach did a little flip flop and she slowly turned her glare onto the female and she caught the barest of smirks. And to think she had felt sympathy toward the bitter female! All sympathy, empathy vanished and her purple gaze narrowed a little, he mouth had fallen open in shock.
“Uhm.” She started, quite speechless at the uncalled for question. She had done nothing to reflect that she was smitten, so she was very confused of where the question had come from…Unless the female was just redirecting her petty jealous feelings. Yup, she was jealous. Chai wasn’t sure why she was jealous, but she couldn’t figure out why else she would redirect the awkwardness.
“Hmmm.” She cleared her throat and regained her composure, closing her mouth. She turned her gaze toward Kanga and moved her gaze obviously over the male, as if seeing if there was anything to…fancy.
“Nah.” Her head shook a little, “too burly…like a bear. Head’s a little big too.” Chai voiced, speaking of his large build and his enormous ego. She struggled a smile from her maw as she gave the male an innocent ‘you started this’ look.

Burnice;
Burnice had been looking down at the ground, not really wanting to see the reaction the two other wolves might get. But a just a second before, she slightly looked at Kanga and heard him chuckle at her. Her eyes widen in shock for a moment, her eyes would be teary right now but for some reason she had an angered look to her. Burnice still hid her face, trying to not be so emotional about it. She moved her bangs to the side and looked at both Kanga and Chai with a blank look. Burnice rolled her eyes barely at Kanga to where he really would not notice. She took a quick look at Chai listing to her answer, the female had said thought about it then said no.
Burnice tilted her head, she blinked a few times before looking at Kanga. Her confused face would not disappear, then her tail twitched a little. Then, Burnice had to remember what Chai had said about Kanga, he was too burly like a bear and she also added that his head was a little too big also. She couldn't help but to giggle quietly, Burnice thought it was true and kind of funny. Her face didn't look confused anymore now, she just did a small closed mouth smile and nearly forgot Kanga had laughed at her.

Kanga;
Ah, Chai didn't seem to find it quite as funny as Kanga. Still in his lounging and extraordinarily relaxed position, and with the chuckle still in his throat, Kanga turned his head away and gave her a roguishly charming side-grin, just getting her into his sight with one eye. He would laugh at what he would, and wolves that had trouble with that often weren't around for long. However, when Burnice posed her question to Chai, Kanga seemed forgotten. He made no more sounds, but his grin was broad as he turned back to the female pair. The silver around his eyes almost seemed to glint with mischief. Ah, today wasn't such a boring day, after all. Burnice definitely seemed taken with him—but he sensed that she was young. Didn't really understand the implications of it. That, and she really did seem to be in quite a bit of pain from the massive elk that she had taken down single-pawedly. Perhaps the pain was putting rational thought out of her mind.
His attention turned back to the conversation though, when Chai said that he was too burly, too bear-like, and with too big of a head. Kanga's mouth fell open just as Burnice giggled. Chai glanced at him with a playful half-grin, but he wasn't having any of it. "I'll have you know," He said in a voice thick with false indignance and offense, looking from one female to the other. "That my build is charming. I'm warm in the winter, you would never go hungry, and in my experience, nobody in their right mind picks a fight with meâso you'd be safe, too." He gave a single nod as if that settled it. Yep. He was a catch and a half.

Chai;
Burnice giggled at her joke, normally she would have laughed as well, but the female had put her off. Instead, Chai kept a steady and stubborn gaze on Kanga, challenging him – daring him to contradict her…aaaand he did. She tilted her head the other way, watching his mouth open in indignation and speak in a mockingly hurt tone. She definitely wasn’t buying it. So, then arose the question after his argument – why was he here? If he thought himself a lady killer, why come here to find his catch? Her playful and amused look wavered at this thought, as she considered the male seriously for a split second.
Chai had to admit to herself, that his argument wasn’t all that bad, but was not going to tell him that. Warmth. Security. Roguishly handsome. She could see why Burnice found herself fancying him.
“Okay, okay – that does sound not half so bad...” She said, almost accidentally agreeing with him when she had told herself she wouldn’t. She threw in an innocent tone toward the end to mask, and decided to turn the tables.
“Well, now that we’re talking about our… feelings.” She glanced over at Burnice, motioning toward her and then looking back to Kanga. “I think Burnice and I want to know if you fancy either of us.” She beamed up at him with a closed smile, her golden flecked tail flipped in front of her, innocently pleased with what she deemed cleverness.

Burnice;
As she sat and looked at both wolves, Burnice listened to what Kanga had to say, then Chai. Her face would be a bright red when Kanga said that he was charming, and he could keep warm, never go hungry and that nobody would want to pick fights with him. She nodded just a little but only to herself agreeing with the charm he has, Burnice's mind almost went blank for a moment then came back to reality when Chai had said 'Well, now that we’re talking about our… feelings. I think Burnice and I want to know if you fancy either of us.”
Burnice's face was a dark red now and it was noticeable. Her heart went racing and her mind went haywire. She could faint any minuet but she suddenly shook her head and snapped out of it, Burnice is curious of what Kanga had to say. Burnice then slowly nodded again but this time at Chai, agreeing with her when she said Burnice would like to know.
Now this time Burnice stayed quiet, she would just watch and listen to what the wolves would have to say. She gave out a small but soft smile as her hair would again get in her pretty face.

Kanga;
As Chai agreed that his physical assets weren’t awful, he smirked. A few shocking teeth poked over his lips. The smile wasn’t mocking—in fact it was rather silly. People thought that his head was just full of fluff—and it was... but hearing things like that still made him smile. He often played them up, preferring to appear goofy than show that it really meant something, but that was for him to know.
He gave Chai a shrewd look as she flipped it all around and asked him whether or not e fancied either of them. Kanga didn’t get up from his spot laying on the ground, but he looked then each over slowly and in turn. Chai seemed smug. Surely the question hadn’t been real, meant only to stir the pot and get the focus on him—but she asked it anyway. Kanga could appreciate that kind of attitude—pressing buttons only to see which could be pressed. Burnice, on the other hand, seemed to be feeling rather hot in the face. Surely she was blushing, and Kanga’s eyes lingered on her. She was not unattractive, that was true. And he was in the Forest of Love. If he said that he fancied one of them, nobody could make any comments if they became mates. They had met in the Forest, that was how things worked. But Kanga wasn’t like that. Really, coming into the forest at all had been a mark of desperation. Maybe he was hoping a similarity rogueish female would appear and steal his heart in one fell swoop. Maybe he didn’t know what he had come looking for.
But it was time to answer. He stood, for the first time since eating the elk, and padded a little closer to each female. He sat gently for one so large, bending his head down to look them both over. Not that “fancying” somebody had to do with just looks. But they didn’t hurt, he supposed. He gave a half-hopeless, half-overly proud shrug. ”I don’t know that I know either of you well enough to fancy you.” He frowned to himself. ”Everything would be a lot easier if I did, let me tell you.” He was sure that if he told Burnice he fancied her, they would become a mated pair then and there—able to have pups and grow old together. It would be so easy. But the feelings were not there. He didn’t let his thoughts show on his face, of course, but he was becoming less and less hopeful that finding a mate would come easy. Here were two plenty attractive and friendly-enough females... but he felt nothing. Other than perhaps a non-commital sort of temptation for mischief, of course.

Chai;
Chai had sat next to the carcass, licking her chops clean. She met his sharp look with her own steady gaze, patiently waiting for him to be done assessing them. However, she felt that it was half hearted, that he wasn’t really enjoying the turn of events. While he was looking at Burnice, Chai was looking at Kanga. He smile faded to a relaxed and pleasant façade, watching him approach closer. She could help but stand, almost defensively, watching him come closer to them. He was awfully large.
He then spoke after a shrug. It was an honest answer, one she completely agreed with. Actually it was pretty obvious, but she resisted the temptation to roll her eyes. Instead she let her mind take the subject further. Was it how well you knew someone? Or how much you went through with them? There were all sorts of levels of love, from friendship to romantic. Her eyes scanned the pink leaves above them, peering at them with distaste. Love. It meant relying on someone, didn’t it? It created feelings that made you feel like you could not do without the other… No, she could do without that holding her down.
“Would it though?” She mused out loud, her eyes traveled back down to the two wolves she had met. Chai didn’t like this sort of talk, she liked light hearted subjects, ones that didn’t reveal too much. “Why on earth would you think love is the answer to your problems?” She said quite bluntly, but not bitterly. She had noticed that the male was struggling with…something. She did not want to be insensitive, but she also wasn’t one to filter too much of what came out.

Burnice;
Burnice looked at the two wolves as if she was almost confused, though she was not. She knew very well what was going on, when Kanga had said ”I don’t know that I know either of you well enough to fancy you.” then the male frowned and said ”Everything would be a lot easier if I did, let me tell you.” Of course Burnice nodded in agreement. It only made sense, right? But then her eyes widen as she heard Chai say "Would it though? Why on earth would you think love is the answer to your problems?" now the female did not say it bitterly but bluntly. Burnice's face went blank for a few moments then she tilted her head honestly wondering why Chai would say that.
Burnice knew what love was and she understood it. As a pup, Burnice had sisters and her father whom she loved with all her heart. you might say its just because its her family thats why she loves them but she lost all of her family just when she was eight months old. Of course she found a friend and did love and will always love but by then she taught her self that it is better to have loved and lost than to not love at all.
But back to the situation.
Burnice did want to know Kanga a little bit better, she always wants to know wolves a little bit better. In fact, she was hoping nothing bad would happen and that Burnice and Chai could get along. Burnice was not the type to be jealous really, she knew it would just cause problems. Burnice looked at the large male as he got closer to both of them, she did not get up from her sitting position and yet she still stayed quiet. Honestly not knowing what to say and hoping none would ask her anything else she did not want to answer.
