Kanga;
Chai listened to him, even glanced up to the trees in thought—but Kanga got the sense that she didn’t agree with him. She asked why he thought it would make things easier. Why love was the answer. He withheld a growl, not wanting to startle either female. That was just it, wasn’t it? He had no idea what the answer was! Manaaki was off doing whatever it was he was doing with the whole Amora debacle, and Kanga was... what? Slouching around the Forest of Love and trying to find his forever? Barf. That wasn’t like him. But should it be? He closed his eyes and heaved a sigh, facing Chai. ”Honestly, I have no idea what the answers to my problems are. I thought it was love. And it might be. That’s why I came here. But if I can’t find love, how can I know that it isn't the answer?” He wasn’t exactly tortured by it—mostly frustrated. He hated being unsure, and even worse was when the answer was potentially right in front of him and he was unable to grab it. She made a good point though.
He turned to Burnice as if just remembering she was there. She had been quite talkative and active in the beginning, and now she was as silent as a mouse. She had told him she fancied him, he had downright basically laughed at her—and had gotten nothing in return. He had then gone on to say that he didn’t know her well enough to fancy her. But that wasn’t a no. In Kanga’s mind, if a wolf fancied another wolf and it was then inferred that there might be a chance there... wouldn’t they pursue it? ”Cougar got your tongue?” He asked abruptly, giving a quick side glance to Chai. Surely the other female had noticed the drastic flip in personality.

Chai;
She glanced over at Burnice; she had been quiet for the last few minutes. Chai knew that she had wanted to know if Kanga admired her, but there had been no disappointment in hearing him admit that he did not know. And she caught the bit of surprise when she had not agreed with Kanga, though. There were many types of love, but Chai didn't feel the need to explain herself, it wasn't about her after all. She half shrugged and turned back to Kanga as he spoke in return.
“I guess it depends on what your problem is.” Chai responded and he followed his gaze to Burnice for a second, catching Kanga’s curious look as she did so. She arched her neck in Burnice’s direction expectedly. “What do you think Burnice?” She asked with a neutral smile.

Burnice;
And there it is, a question.. A question Burnice did not want to answer. The female gave a small sigh while closing her eyes for a moment, Burnice realized she probably should not have stayed quiet for too long- otherwise, both wolves would notice. "Cougar got your tongue?" The large male asked abruptly, Burnice made a small noticeable closed mouth smile almost giggling at his comment. She shook her head a little, not verbally answering his question, but then Chai asked what did Burnice think. Now she really had to answer this time, oh boy
She lifted her head facing and gazed at the pink leaves for a moment giving thought to her answer "Well," Burnice gave another small sigh "I think that love can solves many of your problems.. I think that as long as your happy, there should be no problem in that."
Her words were honest and she meant every word she said. Burnice stood up and looked at both wolves wondering what they might say next, if they agreed or not. She shook her blonde pelt a little then gave Chai a quick soft smile, then one to Kanga.

Kanga;
His interest in the conversation was quickly waning, as was Chai’s, he guessed. But he didn’t blame her. It wasn’t exactly exciting. And yet, there was a slight unrealized thrill with Chai’s next statement, of trying to put his issues into words. He sighed loudly and exaggeratedly. If only they knew the actual depth of everything he hadn’t been able to put into words over the years—he doubted they would still be around. Bernice claimed to fancy him—well, one look into his past or his brain would be enough to get over that, he was sure. His name was ‘cursed’ for a reason.
”Baaah,” He rumbled, a half-hearted noise somewhere between a sigh and a growl. ”I guess it does.” He glanced at Chai. ”Currently it’s something of a race between my brother and I. Whoever can be loved by somebody else first, you know. It’s stupid, really. Just something to pass the time.” He gave a half-laugh and rolled his eyes at himself. It was definitely not true, but he supposed it wasn’t completely untrue either. He turned as Burnice finally added something to the conversation. She seemed really uncomfortable to be having to talk at all. She gave a very different view than Chai on the issue; and yet, it was her statement that made Kanga wonder if he didn’t agree with her. He sighed. Well it made sense, that he didn’t agree. And besides, he didn’t want to find love, anyway. So it was the easy answer. But wasn’t easy almost always wrong?
”Well, I’m enlightened.” He didn’t sound excited by he news. ”But also, this conversation is feeling two-sided. Let’s get off of me and focus on one of you. You’re here just like me, both of you. What brings you two to the pink forest?”

Chai;
Chai’s ears flicked at Burnice’s words. “I guess it depends on what kind of love you’re talking about.” She mused quietly with a sigh and turned to Kanga as he started to make a similar sighing noise – more like a grumble. She met his gaze when he spoke about a race about being loved first. Her eyes widened in slight feigned shock. What an odd way to spend one’s time. But, perhaps the male had hoped that if the wolf fell for him, that he would fall for them – and ultimately fill the hole he was feeling. Chai, as she was often overly caring, suddenly wanted to fill that hole. Often she was overly helpful, but she suddenly saw the challenge she’d been waiting for, looking for. Unfortunately, it seemed Burnice wanted to fill that hole too – but in a different way. She glanced over at Burnice curiously, wondering if she had actually come looking for love like Kanga had.
“For me…” She said with a growing smile. “Adventure. I grew up in the corner of the valley, when I left I decided I wanted to see all of the vale and meet new company.” She grinned at Kanga and glanced at Burnice too. “So, thanks for that anyways.” She paused. "Buuut, I don't think I'll find myself here again any time soon..." Or... ever.

Burnice;
Burnice's head tilted slightly, the male didn't really seem to enjoy the conversation. Ah who can blame him? Burnice was sure none of the wolves really enjoyed it. She sighed quietly, listening to Kanga as he asked what the females were doing in the forest of love. Burnice stood a little quiet hoping the other female would answer first, she glanced at Chai as she finally spoke. The female mentioned adventure and meeting new company, for some reason Burnice had a small feeling Chai would say that. Well, its Burnice's turn to answer, she stood straight and closed her eyes. Honestly knowing it would be kind of hard to answer, the blonde female did not know how to answer the question. Was it love she came looking for? well, yes- but there was something more to it than just that. "I wanted to find love... and meaning, I have no family to love. I wanted to see if anyone could love me for who I am," Burnice said with a small sigh then gazed through her thoughts "Oh boy, now I'm saying too much! change it change it change it!" her eyes had small tears then she tried to quickly cover them by flipping her hair in her face. Thank goodness for long hair.
"But I probably should not have came here if I wanted to know that, right?" Burnice shook her face making sure no tears were there then looked at both wolves while tilting her head.

Kanga;
Chai went deeper with it, saying that depending on what kind of love one was after had something to do with it. Kanga's large snout wrinkled, his nose twitching. There were different kinds of love? His eyes flicked skyward as he considered. Well, he had been with females before. They had confessed their love for him in those moments... but he had felt nothing in return, though he had enjoyed himself. But, no. That couldn't be what he was after. Perhaps Chai was right, and there were multiple kinds of love one could seek and have. "Well I don't know," He rumbled. Had he hands to toss into the air, he would have. It was all a mess. And a waste of time to boot, considering. Stupid Manaaki, filling his head with... things. Nobody did that, not to Kanga, anyway. Nobody made him think! He made a mental note to bite the silver brother next time he saw him.
After he spoke though, Chai gave a short synopsis of why she was there. Adventure, company, the experience of it all. But thank you very much, she wouldn't be returning. "Had this worked out a little differently, perhaps we could have not returned here together," Kanga said, a snort colouring his words. Ah, well, to the underworld with Manaaki, then. He could do what he would. There was nothing wrong with having adventures and meeting new company, as Chai was doing. Right?
But then Burnice was speaking, and her eyes had began to well up as well. Kanga didn't know that he had ever shed a tear—he didn't even know if he could—but he knew there was all kinds of societal expectations when somebody else was feeling in such a way. His own eyes widened and he jerked up from his laying-position so quickly that it might have appeared he had been stung. "Well in theory," He started awkwardly, too-loud. He basically yelled it. "This is the place one would come to find love." He coughed loudly, glancing to Chai for help. Was he making it worse? Probably. Would he stop? Probably not. "However, seeing if somebody could love you for who you are might be better suited for a different location. Wolves here find the quickest available wolf and get right down to work." He cleared his throat, not exactly wanting to cough again. Gotta keep it natch. "I see you're tearing up." Wait, what? That was what he was trying to avoid mentioning. Close the mouth. No more words. Bite the tongue—"That's interesting." No, no, no.

Chai;
Chai blinked blankly at Kanga when he mentioned something about them not returning together. She assumed he had simply meant that he agreed with her in that aspect. Again, he eyes lingered on the large wolf a moment longer than she meant to, but she swiftly moved her gaze to Burnice who started to talk about a heart breaking story and love. While Chai could be passionate, she was not at all mushy. This seemed too… mushy for her taste.
Burnice was… crying? Almost crying? Erm. Chai was a passionate wolf, but she did not cry, she was not that sort of emotional. Part of her felt that the she-wolf deserved to feel sad, she had done well enough to try and make Chai feel uncomfortable. However, in the end, she realized that she really didn’t care how the whole situation played; it was all part of her adventure and discovery. She had discovered an overly emotional wolf, so what?
“Well…” She was about to say that did not reflect on who she was, but then she saw pure panic in the form of a wolf shoot to his feet and start to sputter words. Her purple eyes widened and she shook her head a fraction at him, trying to motion for him to shut his trap – but he kept going. The first part wasn’t so bad, and while Chai would have said it more eloquently, it was honest…though she wanted to laugh at the last part about wolves getting right down to work. Had he assumed he’d be getting a little sweet something from a wolf? If that was the something he was talking about? His panic and flooding words were priceless. Her jaw muscles were working furiously at keeping a smile and anger from her face and she ended up biting her cheek a little in the process.
She finally cleared her throat, rolling her eyes and letting a long breath out to clear the laughter and anger from her voice. “What… Kanga is trying to say, is that your success here doesn’t reflect who you are…and you can’t expect a, uh, place to fix your problems.” She paused. “Besides, if anything you made a few odd sort of friends in the process.” Friends… sure. While Chai wasn’t sure she could trust the two completely, they were at least solid acquaintances.

Burnice;
The female shook her head quite roughly, her hair would be all over her face, then she looked at Kanga who, answered her question? well he did, but somehow it felt as if he was making it worse. The large male needed help so he looked at Chai for it, Chai did help and at the end she mentioned something about making a few odd sort of friends. Burnice made a very small closed mouth smiled but it quickly faded and went blank, "I think I know how this is going to turn out..." the blonde female sighed quietly.
But she smirked a little, looking at Kanga's direction. "Guess I did make some odd acquaintances, hm?" she looked up and down at the large male then glanced at the other female, Burnice swung her hair back, her tail lifted and her ears flickered. The blonde females fluffy tail swayed as it was up. Her eyes brightly looked every where, and her silky pelt would glow a little from the sun's light. She smiled, at the wolves, she had no tear in her eyes now- but was it because of Kanga and Chai? I guess no one would really know, unless she said it herself.
Her face went a bright red once again, smirking, she shrugged and glanced to the male "Thanks for making that better." now grinning she giggled slightly and rolled her eyes playfully.

Kanga;
While Chai sat there enjoying Kanga's slow demise, he just continued speaking. Perhaps it hadn't been an issue before—perhaps it would have been a simple shrug situation. But Kanga made sure to make it more than that. Simply by drawing attention to it, he had made it impossible to ignore. He had made it real. Perhaps Manaaki had a point about his big mouth...
As he considered the vast split he had made in an otherwise predictable conversation, the females seemed to work it out amongst themselves. In any case, by the time the big red brute had focused in once more, Burnice was smiling again, and Chai seemed placated. Well, good. He heaved a sigh, the air entering his big lungs greedily and leaving reluctantly. "You know, I think I learned something today after all," That not all problems could be solved by running off to the Love Forest. As he had guessed, such an idea had actually caused more than it had started. Then again... he glanced to Chai for a half-moment, recalling that her eyes had lingered on him once or twice. Interesting... "But I think I'll be going now—" Even if her eyes lingered, he doubted today would be the day to discover anything new.
He got up slowly, slowly enough that it didn't appear he was set on leaving, anyway. But it seemed a natural progression. He swung his big head side to side as he lumbered to his feet, then glanced over his shoulder at his new acquaintances (or 'strange friends' as Chai had called them) to see if they had any last things to say that would make him reconsider his exit.

Chai;
Chai noticed when the female replaced the word ‘friend’ for ‘acquaintance’. Her ears flicked, feeling a little out of place again. She went over to the carcass that she had not forgotten. She took another couple of small bites and stepped away again when Kanga spoke about leaving. Her eyes flicked over to Burnice, curious of her reaction to him leaving - as she had obviously tried to act playful, but then he decided their conversion was over… Though she wasn’t convinced that he was set on leaving.
Either way - “Well, if you’re leaving. I must insist that you escort me out of this place.” Chai said matter-of-factly. She stood up then, glancing casually at Burnice. “The last thing I need is some random wolf thinking I’m here on the pretense of finding romance.” She said rather darkly and with a small, ‘ehem’ following. She shook out her fur that glittered inconsistently and took a step in the direction of Kanga. She looked him up and down again as if considering, "yes, I think you would deter any foreign suitors." Her tone rather serious, as if she'd actually be able to attract so many suitors.

Burnice;
Her eyes looked at both Chai and Kanga, Burnice rolled her eyes slightly when the large male had said "You know, I think I learned something today after all, But I think I'll be going now." The blonde female looked at Kanga as she raised a brow barely. She then looked at Chai who glanced at her casually, Burnice rolled her eyes again but this time moved her head in a circle motion when Chai insisted that Kanga should escort her out of the forest.
She glanced at Chai for a few moments more before looking at the male, she smirked as she looked at Kanga "Oh Kanga, you mischievous fool-" Burnice lowered her head slightly making her hair cover most of her face "You came here to find love, hoping that it would solve your problems. You have the answer right in front of your face, yet you try to walk away- leaving the answer behind. I should tell you, second chances don't pass by all the time, If I were you I would take that chance while I still have it." Burnice shook her hair and glanced at both wolves again.
She turned and flicked her tail up "Now if you don't mind I shall escort myself." she turned her head to look at the male giving him a small smirk. She walked slowly, slowly as if she did not want to leave yet but maybe they had something else to say to her. Burnice looked again to see if they did have something else to say.

Kanga;
Burnice gave the biggest show of speech she yet had, and attempted to berate him, saying that whatever answer he has been seeking before could be found directly in front of him. Kanga had wised-up about the triangular situation by then, but still didn’t allow any light of understanding to enter his eyes. He blinked slowly, not fully turning his body back to the group but angling his shoulders so he wouldn’t have to crick his neck. Chai distracted him though, as she said (without room for argument) that he would escort her out. As a Warrior, Kanga was not unfamiliar with tasks such as these. She was quite right. He would definitely deter any strangers. Across from Chai (Kanga’s eyes flicked over), Bernice finished speaking. She said she would escort herself from the forest, but then gave Kanga a smirk that had become common to see on her face, and dilly-dallied instead of actually leaving. This brought a smile to Kanga’s large mouth, as he had done just the same mere seconds ago.
”The answer, as you do aptly put it, Burnice, is far more complicated than becoming friendly with a stranger.” He had never thought it had been—but something had brought him to the Forest. Although after spending, what, ten minutes within the pink leaves, he saw that he had been quite off the mark—whatever the mark had been. He heaved a sigh, gentle in consideration, but loud. ”I’ll gladly escort you, Chai. Burnice, since you seem capable enough on your own—“ His half-smile remained. He didn’t expect her to actually leave. She had come to the Forest of Love for a reason, too—had even admitted she fancied him. No, he doubted she would have Chai and Kanga walking out alone.
Above them, the warm sun was beginning to set. All in all the orange of the sky painted the pink leaves quite prettily. If this encounter had gone far different, perhaps it would have been the perfect setting. As it was, they had no need of a pretty sunset. Though it was still nice. Besides. With a name like ”Cursed”, what had he expected?

Chai;
She was used to Burnice’s way of being dramatic, so her words that meant to doom Kanga fell flat to her. How could Burnice know that she was the answer? In fact, it made her stomach squirm uncomfortably the way she was trying to manipulate him. Well… if that’s what he wanted, Chai wouldn’t argue, but she glanced at Kanga doubtfully. Her expression softened into a blank slate when he replied, watching the two look at each other, daring one or the other to do…something. And with all the big talk, Burnice didn’t seem quite satisfied with just leaving.
Chai wanted to leave. This adventure seemed to be wrapping itself up, and she was tired of the tension of the trio. She looked up at Kanga, wondering if she should suggest that she could make her way out on her own as well…However, she really was done with the talk of love, and she half feared she really would run into some other entourage that wanted to theorize romance. She stood there torn between releasing Kanga (if that was what he wanted) from escorting her or just leaving without him.
She was momentarily distracted as the light began to shift slowly, orange mingling with the pinks of the forest. It was beautiful, but she couldn’t see the romantic love in it. Instead she saw the wonder of life and the treasures it held in store for her. With a sigh and grin, and a glance at Kanga’s long legs she spoke up. “Welp, I’m gonna need a head start with legs as long as yours.” She said to Kanga, smiling at him whether or not he looked back at her. Either he would join her or he wouldn’t and she wasn’t so concerned of what he would chose, her only concern was of others she may meet on the way… especially with the sun setting. There were rumors of dark wolves that littered the valley, and so far she’d been able to avoid such dark forces. She gave Burnice a last smile over her shoulder as she moved away from their clearing into the thicker of the trees where darkness seemed to speed up the arrival of night.

Burnice;
The blonde female stood still for a brief moment as she thought deep within her mind, she hoped that when she said "the answer is in front of your face" the other two (especially Chai) would not think she was talking about herself. Burnice is not one to do that, but then at this point she did not know what she meant. Burnice then looks up and sees the light shifting slowly, although she would enjoy this setting she wasn't much in a happy mood. The female turned to face Kanga "Um, do you mind me...tagging along? It's getting dark and if I may recall, you said no one would want to pick a fight with you." she blinked twice slowly because she would be more confident in herself but night time is not her favorite time of day.
"Evil wolves tend to lurk around at night and if they see a small wounded female like me, well, lets just say I could be their dinner." Burnice said as she slowly trotted to the male. She then sees Chai leaving and she frowned unnoticeably, but she was unsure why she frowned, a lot of things went through the young female's mind. Her tail would flick quite rapidly as she stared at the female walking away, then her gaze slowly went to Kanga.
