SukuSujiThe pair of siblings trod lightly on the pink leaves littering the ground beneath them, apprehension turning Suku's muscle's taunt, his expression lined with worry. His sister, on the other hand, had a spring to her step, practically prancing. Suku sighed, suddenly stopping in place. Suji walked a few paces forward before she noticed her brother's absence, and she turned around to face him, confusion crossing her eyes. "Suji, we shouldn't be here. You know what this forest is known for, right?" Suku's words made Suji wiggle a single brow, clearly in better spirits than her brother. "What, you don't think I can handle a relationship?" She asked, her tone light, but there was a bit of tension behind her words. Suku turned as pale as a wolf can in momentary shock, before he set his jaw, his gaze turning hard. "No, I don't. You're far too young for that, and besides, I've told you before — strangers are full of all sorts of sicknesses. What do you think happens when you start cuddling up to one?" Suji didn't take this well. Her good mood soured, she returned feistily, "You're the same age as me! And what makes you think that you're any safer than they are? Just because I'm used to your illnesses doesn't mean anything; you know how easily I get sick!" "And that's exactly why I'm doing this! To protect you!" On the last word, his voice raised loud enough to scare the birds from the trees above. The two took a break from their argument to watch the feathery creatures rise into the sky in a cloud of dark bodies against blue, but soon there was nothing left to stare at anymore. Suku frowned, turning around to head the other way. "We're leaving." He stated, his tone making it clear it wasn't up for discussion. Suji, however, didn't seem to care whether he thought it was up for discussion or not. She quickened her pace and pulled in front of Suku, blocking his path with her body. "No, we're not."

Arold; Arold had wandered away from his new pack, having explored the territory without encountering any of his pack mates. He hadn't really been introduced to any of them and in a way, he was fine with that. He had a lot to think about before deciding if he would be a permanent fixture in Ethereal Dawn. His thoughts turned to Arani, wondering how she was, but he knew if she needed help, she'd turn to her brother. He'd found a lovely forest, with pink leaves, one place he knew he'd never be able to really blend into. Winter had just left, leaving spring to welcome new life in again. He was happily admiring the newly returned flowers when he heard voices. He peeked around a tree trunk, spying two brightly colored wolves arguing. Male and female from the sound of their voices. He hesitated, wondering if he should interfere, but came to the conclusion that it wasn't any of his business.
He wanted to leave, but he also didn't want to leave the smaller one to fend for herself. She didn't seem afraid, so he figured she felt safe enough with this wolf. His mind still rebelled, telling him to stay. He fought back, repeating to himself that she'd be a lot more panicked if she were in any real danger.
Finally winning his mental battle, he heaved a barely audible sigh and turned to leave. He needed to get back to pack lands anyway. He still didn't leave though, glancing over his shoulder to see the small one block the male with her body.

"Suji. Move." Suku's voice came out as a low growl, his body language tense. She met his gaze evenly, unwilling to back down. He, however, glanced past her towards the wolf sneaking off behind Suji. His eyes turned feral, and Suji noticed the change almost instantly, following his gaze towards the wolf behind them. She reacted too late, though, as Suku pushed past her and growled at the stranger, "Get away from my sister!" He seemed ready to attack, but Suji stepped in front of the pair before he could, insisting, "Suku, it's fine! He's not here to—" her words were cut off by a sudden wheezing fit, and her brother's gaze went from murderous to concerned in a flash. He was by her side in an instant, supporting her as she struggled to breathe through her coughing. "Su-ku...I'm fin—" she couldn't finish the thought as she was overcome by more coughing. "No, you're not. You see—he made you sick! This is exactly what I was warning you about!" Argus

Arold;
Arold flinched as the female, apparently Suji, broke out in a fit of coughs. Just when he had been on his way out too. "Get away from your sister? I'm not sure I'm the one you should be worrying about in regards to her." Suji seemed to be attempting to defend him from her brother, an almost laughable attempt. He kept his distance, looking on curiously as her brother's anger turned to concerned. It was a quick change, and it seemed alarming that he could flip from emotion to emotion so quickly.
The rather aggressive male ran to his sister's side, supporting her as she wheezed, forgetting him for just a moment. Until he accused Arold of being the reason she was sick. Arold didn't know what was going on between them, but he did know that the male's attitude was distasteful.
"It's funny, but I always thought that accusing someone without even knowing their name was rather unfair. I'm Arold, it's nice to meet you. I see I interrupted something and I'm terribly sorry for that, but I didn't do anything to you two. I'd appreciate it if you could maybe tone down that attitude of yours, and maybe apologize to me and your sister for it. I'm sure she'd appreciate it."

Suku growled low in his throat, still supporting his sister, "I don't owe you anything, let alone an apology. If anything, you should apologize for making my sister—" His voice cut off as Suji suddenly pulled away from him, moving to Arold's side. The look on his face was of utter betrayal. "I think..." Suji paused to cough, but she managed to keep it within a contained level. Her voice sounded strained. "Maybe you should take a moment to cool off, Suku." The look in her eyes was something fierce, and Suku's attitude seemed to flip once more. This time, he took on a different tactic. "Sis, don't look at me like that. Please. You know I only want what's best for you, right? I wouldn't do this if—" His sister interrupted him, staring him down with fire in her eyes. "Who are you to decide what's best for me? Besides, he didn't make me sick. It was probably the spring shower we had the other day. So..." She coughed again, and this time it took a moment for her to recover herself. She stumbled a bit on her paws, eventually leaning into Arold for support. Suku looked like he was barely containing his rage, but Suji flashed Arold a knowing smile that suggested she hadn't necessarily done that unintentionally. "...So, how about you stop blaming...Arold, was it?...and start blaming yourself for being an ass." Argus

Arold;
Arold was concerned about Suji, and he made sure to keep very still when she moved nearer to him. However, he felt a flicker of annoyance at her brother's insistence that he owed no one an apology. Instead, he wanted an apology from Arold. At least the sister seemed to have some sense, although her health seemed to be poor. The moment she started to cough and wheeze, her brother's attitude would change. From angry and betrayed to concerned. For Arold it was a curious thing, this concern over someone else's health. His family would simply have laughed at him in this situation. It was a different place here, and he found something strange (at least to him) every day.
Arold stiffened as he felt Suji press against him, but made sure not to shift too much in case the movement threw her of balance. He didn't want to hurt her, and he knew it would somehow be his fault if she stumbled. When her coughing stopped, she once again defended him against her brother, making him wonder if this was normal behavior for them.
"I'm thankful to see that one of you isn't a hothead with a bad demeanor. I believe I've already apologized for any wrongdoing I might have done, however." Arold had the feeling that if his sister hadn't been here then Suki would already have attacked, but if Suji hadn't been here they probably wouldn't be having this problem.
"I don't really care if you apologize to me. I'm not the least bit afraid of you, however your attitude is upsetting your sister and I can't imagine that's good for her health. Not that I'm an expert on her or her sickness, but I know that stressing her out can't be a good remedy for whatever it is." Arold hoped that would be enough to open Suki's eyes knowing that if a fight started and he had to fight back, he would be partly to blame for Suji's stress too.

Suku glanced between the two of them, seeming bewildered by this turn of events. He struggled to find something to say before finally, he addressed his sister, "Suji, you're sick. Let me take you home." His voice was strained, but laced with concern. For the first time in this altercation, Suji seemed to be considering his words.
"I will, once you apologize to Arold here." She stated matter-of-factly, and Suku's eyes widened before narrowing in Arold's direction.
"Suji..." He warned, but her glare left him little choice in the matter. He turned towards Arold, opened his mouth, closed it, and then opened it again to say begrudgingly, "Sorry." He turned towards Suji once more, before snapping, "You happy?"
Suji grinned as she moved back to Suku's side. "Very." She stated, coughing a bit before following her brother a few paces away as he began to leave. Then, she stopped, turning to look over her shoulder at Arold. "Thank you." She mouthed, before turning back to follow her brother, leaning on him for support.

Skyler catches on to the stench of his sister and follows it into the forest. His eyes searching until finally they land on a slim black female basking in the sun on a tall bolder. " Well, you sure know how to find the farthest spot away from civilization." He scoffed jumping up on the bolder and invading her space.
Keshona opened one of the ruby eyes to glare at her brother. "And you sure know how to ruin a perfectly good day." She snapped back, lifting her hind leg to push him off the bolder. Skyler laughed and rolled off the bolder on to his side. " Come on sis, I actually smell a few people near by to talk to!" Keshona closed her eye once more not amused. " I have no interest in talking to your little squirrel friends Skyler. Leave me be." "But these are actual wolves! They might know something about dad." His answer caused her to open both her ruby eyes. " Huh.. Well it's worth a shot. Where are these mutts?" *She mumbled while stretching and preparing to exit the bolder. " They are on the other side of the woods, but I need to find a rabbit first." "A Rabbit?" Keshona questioned, her head tilting. " Just follow me." Skyler laughed making his way towards the the sound of voices.

Arold;
Arold nodded his head, his ears flicking to the side as he heard crashing through the woods. "Do you hear that?" Whatever it was wasn't trying to be quiet, so probably nothing dangerous. Suji and Suku were on their way out, so maybe he shouldn't have said anything. He could probably handle whatever it was better than they could anyway, with Suji's health and Suku's temperament not being conductive to dealing with situations.
"Never mind. You two go on, I'll meet whatever it is." He fully expected them to listen to him, to leave without any protest.
"I appreciate the apology Suku. You should really loosen up."

Suku's ears perked as the crashing sound began, and he grumbled at Arold as he asked if he'd heard it, "How could I not?" Hearing the other suggest that they move on, he frowned, ready to protest. He didn't like the idea of following orders from his guy. Suji's coughing, however, reminded him that he had more important things to attend to. He frowned, nudging Suji along until she suddenly plopped down. For a moment, he'd thought she'd collapsed, but rather she was sitting and watching the direction of the sound.
"Suji...We need to go." Suku warned, but Suji just shook her head.
"I'm curious." She stated simply, only tearing her eyes away from the source of the sound as she coughed violently. Suku considered pushing her but decided it best to simply let her stay, anyway. Her voice was already starting to sound really bad — perhaps it was best if they rested here, as long as the weather was in their favor. The strenuous movement on the way to the den wouldn't help her health, after all.
"Fine. Just take it easy, okay?" He insisted, standing guard a few paces in front of where she laid.

Arold turned his head towards the two wolves who were, oddly enough, still here. They had been here before him, of course, but he wasn't accustomed to others not listening to his directions. The sounds didn't come any closer yet, so Arold turned back so that he was facing the two and cocked his head in puzzlement. It was almost as if Suji wanted to do things that contradicted her brother’s orders. He wondered if it was because her brother seemed to be a little high handed with her and she was tired of listening to his orders.
She seemed to be getting worse rather than better, and while it sparked some concern in Arold for her, he was more concerned about what was all around him at that moment. However, he rationalized that since the noises weren't moving any closer, he could afford to have a continue their conversation. It seemed they'd be here for a while after all, Suji having convinced Suku that it was better for her health to stay than to leave.
"What are you curious about? Whatever it is that's making that noise is probably a rabbit or something. If it's not, I can't imagine it'll do anything other than talk like we're doing." He knew from experience that if whatever it was had ill intentions it would choose easier targets than three wolves all together. His tone made it clear he was himself was simply curious about why she was curious, and that he had no intentions of offending anyone.
((I'm responding because corgimaster hasn't been on in a few days/ hasn't responded, normally there's an order to this.))

Suji's gaze drifted from the rustling bushes to Argus, and then back to the bushes. "Not sure." She answered, "Just curious." Suku rolled his eyes at this but said nothing. He was sending the darker wolf across from him a constant stream of death glares, though. If looks could kill...
After a moment of further rustling, Suku seemed to grow impatient. "If it's a rabbit, then kill it already!" He growled towards Arold, although he made no move to catch it himself. Suji made a sour face at his outburst but was interrupted by another coughing fit before she could say anything.

Arold glanced at Suku and held his stare. The other male didn't scare him with his hateful looks. Instead of looking away, he held the male's gaze, showing absolutely no expression in his eyes. "Curiosity is natural, but one should be careful what they are curious about." The rustling noise annoyed him too, but it wasn't coming any closer to them and he knew that it would go away in a little while on its own. Arold, in reality, didn't think it was a rabbit, he had just said that to give Suji an answer.
"Hmmmm. I don't think so. Whatever it is isn't hurting me, so I think I'll leave it alone. If it bothers you so much, feel free to go and kill it yourself." This was said in answer to Suku's order, his demand, that Arold go kill the 'rabbit'. He wasn't going to be this smaller, rasher wolf's lackey. Instead of continuing to antagonize Suku directly (which was what he was doing, subconsciously) he broke the stare he had initiated, turning to Suji instead. "Has he always been such a pain in the tail?" He couldn't imagine having to listen to Suku's ranting all the time, paranoid everything was going to kill him. Just the idea of it made him shudder.
